  1. Exactly!! But lets face it. MON has done what Moyes has done in half the time. Has moyes got Lerner? I dont buy that He had Rooney!! He conned man City for 24 million. Moyes has spent money (yeah wisely) but there not doing ought are they really? Has Hodgeson, Pulis, O driscoll etc got Lerner, and is Lerner that rich? Money just helps you do things quicker. Right, and my point is that Moyes has had money to spend! And still gets the biggest praise of any premier leagure manager (within relevance to achievement). When you have to sell your star player to raise the funds to get the money slightly different I know what your saying but why does the media make out he is so so so good. Am I missing something? He is not the only 1 in his position, and his position is far better than most due to the club he is at

  5. This post is slightly off topic, and is my response to a few ongoing threads: - Im not shelshocked by the result at all. Any team that goes on a long unbeaten run is always asking for a good hiding sooner or later. I remember playing Wimbledon a few years back. I think they had gone something like 26 games (mostly draws) unbeaten and we battered them 5-0. Ive seen Chelsea a number of times this season and they have won 3 or 4 nil when it could (if they had taken there chances) have been 16, 17 nil When Everton lost 6-1 to Arsenal (AT HOME), no one stuck the boot in on Moyes. Instead, the nation preceeded to fall for the media hype and make excuses for the genius that is Moyes, who in 7 or so years has done a decent (at best - as he has won ermmm, nothing) job at Everton. Martin O'Neill won't change and doesn't need to change!! Establishing a succesful football team is a patient process (even more so nowadays). Whether our manager is Martin O'Neill and his honest, stubborn ways, or Sir Alex Ferguson, with his constant manipulation of referees, Villa becoming a top notch Premiership club is going to take time (and may never happen). Here is a thought - Maybe if we start to get behind the manager instead of jumping on his back at the first sign of things not quite going as our over ambitious fans expect, things might have a better chance of happening or happening a bit quicker. I hope MON doesnt go in the summer, or the summer after. Ive said it before and Il ask again, Who actually looked at the premier league at the start of the season - yes, I fully expect us to finish top 4? It won't be one of the greatest achievements by a Villa manager to date!! If you did - then your mad If you didn't - then what you all (those questioning MON) complaining about???
  6. Your 2nd point totally contradicts your 1st. Hes either a better manager than MON so he must be top notch or Hes a lieing cheating scumbag thats in it for himself only - and leaves others to die - making him - a not so good manager!!! I know which I think Never won **** all. Hes a tosser. no more to be said Not really he is a mixture of both Well Im struggling to see how you have come to the conclusion that hes a better manager than O'Neill. Surely your not basing it solely on the fact they are 4 points ahead of us????? You must be, as there is no other arguement. And even that is a very very poor 1 He has better eye for a player crooked or not. Better tactical flexibility. Has outsmarted MON in every game vs him since 2006 he has won a cup in the same time period MON is at Villa What he outsmarted O'neill at White Hart Lane when 0-0?????? Those Tottenham fans must aim high if they got the better of us that day. Hes won 1 cup in his whole career!!! The guy has no conscience. He is scum. He doesnt deserve to be mentioned in the same thread as O'neil Every club hes been too hes left in ruins, and no pundit picks up on it and it drives me insane. I dont think that will happen at Tottenham. they wont let him. But he will leave because hel get bored cos he cant spend willy nilly.

  9. I dont even think Moyes is that good!! So much media praise that everyone seems to be falling for. Its bollocks. Hes not won ought. Supposed to be doing it on a shoe string!! What??? Roy Hodgeson is doing it on a shoe string, Sean O'driscoll is doing it on a shoe string! Not Moyes. Theyre not achieving anything. Going backwards if anything
  10. 7 away wins last season - thats even better
  11. I know wgere you're coming from I used to be like you. Of course i'm excited about Villa in the semi final, my left knee and my bad back are not. Expense (which you're right I should have explained) is probabaly by far the greatest reason for not going. we only got 37k on Saturday and money was the reason. Its a semi final and some may have half an eye on a final. Did you go to the CC final because quite frankly Wembley was one hell of a disappointment. I didn't because I couldnt get a ticket. And I wont be able to go to the FA cup final for the same reasons (if we get through). And thats fair because I am not a season ticket holder. But I would expect that season ticket holders (who sometimes unfairly have a grumble at every man and his dog trying to get a ticket to a final) come up with better excuses not to go to a semi final than, it shunt be at wembley or wel probly lose or wembley's difficult to get out of. Id kill for a chance to go if your that desperate to go, why not just pay tout prices? Cos I cant afford them
  12. ???? You do know this will go to booking history like the CC final? Some of us dont have that either mate. Cant see it getting down to 2 game booking history
  13. I liked Wembley, served beer quickly at half time and before the game, had a cracking view and the atmophere where I was sitting was good. I know that getting away afterwards was meant to be a nightmare but I did pretty well and was back at a pub in Old Street with by before 6. there's been conflicting accounts of the service, like me, I waited for the whole of half time for £8 fish and chips and didnt get any (much to the amusement of the lad). In block 138 which was OK but the whole day cost me £350!! Anyone who gets food at half-time is mental!! Tried it once. Missed 20mins of the 2nd half. Never doing it again

  15. Woody - thats great if you can afford it good luck to ya Lack of funds is a genuine excuse, and a very acceptable one At no point have you indicated you werent going because you cant afford it. People dont need exuses not to go to a football game - There are a myriad of reasons why people dont go. Kick off time, geography, travel, expense....the list is endless. I've got to find the best part of £2k for following Villa in the next month or so, with ST's etc. I also have other interests outside of football like macrame. Exactly And people dont need excuses, you are right!!! But people are giving excuses on here, that are poor and quite disappointing in all honesty

  17. Someone said this a week or so ago and I strongly disagreed. Having read this thread, I now see what they were getting at!!
  18. Bit of this and some of this. I just don't get it. So it is at Wembley. So What????. Lets make the most of it. Cos let me tell ya, it could be another 10 years before were there again.
  19. How would you suggest sorting out the allocation then? Who want's to go the most? Besides, if there are that many season ticket holders that don't want to go, then the tickets will be made available accordingly. No other way to distribute the allocation if you ask me, I would be most annoyed if as a season ticket holder, i didn't get priority over non season tickets holders. Im not for 1 minute suggesting that it needs changing as Im sure (or at least hope) the majority of ST holders wont share the same opinion as the posts above. I cant go anyway, because of work, but lets say I could go, and decided against the negative vibes above i.e I believed we could win, and in turn decided to go. Come the final, I will be back in the same position as CC final because all the ST holders (who had no faith) will want a ticket again. Obviously everybody has freedom of choice, but im a non season ticket holder and dont attend matches regular for a few reasons. Not one reason is because I think we will lose!!!
  20. This thread is the first example I have come across that indicates that ST holders should not be granted special allocation. I trust none of you who arent going for such appauling excuses, wont be going to the final if we get through? Really, I cannot believe this. An FA Cup semi final at Wembley, and people seem to have given up. The suffering Villa - I echo your headbutts Disgraceful
  21. I like this idea Tommo. We dont often see (if never) Carew in attack on his own, and it could well work, with all the pace around him. I might be tempted to choose Sidwell over Delph. Big Occassion, Need a win and Sidwell (as bad as a lot of people make him out to be) could still have a big role to play for us imo. The equaliser last week will give him confidence, and I think he gets a lot of unfair stick seen as he rarely gets any game time. We have seen at Wigan and Everton last season, and at Arsenal at home last season, what he can do. I think the lad deserves another chance.
  22. Absolutely!!! I think we can lose at Chelsea and still get 4th. If we lose tonight, we will be struggling.
  23. Why do people keep saying that? When did he turn into Wayne Rooney? God knows mate it is becoming a joke now. Agreed. Don't get me wrong, I like the Fonz and think he's a great prospect. But there is so much expectation on himI can't see him being anything more than a disappointment when he finally gets a good run in a league game. Salifou syndrome strikes again I'm afraid. Yeah lets face it, he probably doesnt play much for a good reason. MON is hardly going to jeapordise our chances on purpose is he?
