Historically Villa would be the biggest job they ever had ( Atkinson & Taylor excepted) so their careers , for the most part would go downhill We sometimes forget how big a club we have been

I think it's safe to say Norwich & Bournemouth are very unlikely to get out of it so that means we need to get above West Ham, Watford or Brighton. West Ham have the easiest run in and Brighton will be on a high after today although they have difficult fixtures. Our best bet in my opinion is Watford so lets hope they lose their next few games I think we probably need 37 points to be safe

This was always going to be a strange game but I thought we played pretty well and now have the advantage of already playing in these circumstances It could prove to be advantageous against Chelsea on Sunday. A win is not out of the question if we can play like that again.

£130M for 12 players (ave £10m or so) does not buy you a team capable of a high finish. We had no choice though as we had to replace most of the squad. Higher value/ better players will arrive if we stay up. I don't think the board will have had greater expectations hence why there has been no mentions at all of a change of manager.

West Ham played well last night but got nothing for it. They are where they are because they deserve to be. All the teams round us including ourselves have had this kind of performance at some time but it means nothing. Nobody's too good to go down and despite their team West Ham are a poor side and they probably will go down. They have a difficult run in too and there is nothing to suggest that they will improve sufficiently to survive. Ask their fans if you don't believe me. You think WE can be toxic??
