Hi General. Please can you tell me if Randy's desire for integrity is consistent. I only say this because it is clear why he was put off signing Hughes, and rightly so in my opinion. However I just wanted to point out that McLeish quit his post today via email. Surely not a great way to act. (That is of course unless he is off to Bolton/Everton and one of their manager's is heading our way for the necessary compensation) -
So we discount a manager who hands in a month's notice when his contract expires but will give the job to someone who quits by email. Hmmmm, interesting?!?!?!?!? If it does happen Randy will have a lot of questions to answer.

So I missed the last 40 pages after last nights TS Twitter feed and Villa_Insider both claiming Moyes was to be sorted today. What's the crack with that? Still presume nobody is any the wiser?

If McLeish came I'd be very disappointed. Yes he won the CC with them last season but he still got relegated. Plus he's a bellend. With Hughes and Benitez being available I would be mortified if McLeish was even being considered. Plus there's no way i'd want Randy to give them any money for anything other than Dann or Foster.

For me Moyes over Hughes by quite a distance purely because Hughes will ditch us the minute a better job becomes available. His agent is Kia Joorabchian and I don't trust that prick. We shall see. Would be amazing to sign Moyes this weekend then listen to smug Adrian Durham on talkSPORT on Monday claiming how horrible we are for tapping him up.

yes please To be fair he has tweeted TS Drive so no doubt Durham is getting his arse out about us again. How dare Villa think they are a big club able to attract Moyes when they can't even attract Martinez blah blah blah.

It will be Moyes. After the most painful 12 months as a Villa fan this will be the start of an excellent spell under a top manager. If anyone thinks Moyes is destined for Man Utd then they are forgetting about Mourinho & Guardiola. Moyes to Villa. Hughes to Everton.

We just need to get this crap over and done with now. I can't believe Fulham wouldn't just let us appoint Hughes now that they have a new manager. However, I still think that RL will take one last look at the Moyes situation and Coyle will be linked v.soon too. Can't access oddschecker at work but anyone know who the current favourite is?

Moyes. Simple, give Everton Heskey & Dunne in return for Moyes and everyone will be happy...except Everton fans but I've gone beyond caring what other people think of us as the media thinks we're a smaller club than Wigan for Martinez turning down a job he wasn't even offered. Moyes will be favourite by COB tonight I'm sure of that. Means **** all mind.

Yeah I really hope Moyes is the one that we actually sign but it is looking increasingly unlikely. If Martinez does turn us down after going about things the right way I say we get **** ruthless and tap up DM big style. Today is going to be shit.

For me Martinez ticks a lot of the boxes... 1) Prem experience. 2) Recent Prem experience 3) Likable manager who players respect 4) Desire to play attractive football 5) Can work with a budget 6) Works with the Board to develop the club. Not just rinse the coffers then run off at the first sign of trouble. If it's not to be Moyes then RM would get my full backing.

Still Moyes for me. I read that the reason Villa want RM is because of his ability to manage a tight budget. Well Moyes has to do the same and I think this will be the "meltdown" managerial signing because allegedly Moyes doesn't want it and everyone is expecting his next move to be Man Utd or Spurs.

Why would Villa announce that they aren't spending much money this summer? That would be the biggest PR **** up in years and would really hit season ticket sales. SSN are spouting out so much bullshit at the moment it's unreal.

So £20m for Young, £20m for Downing, plus Warnock, Dunne and potentially others too. £50m to spend to rebuild the squad wouldn't be too bad. However, I would find it ridiculous to think that RL would spend £24m in Jan on Bent to save our season then spend **** all in the summer (for the 2nd season in a row) when we have a new manager and a lot of rebuilding to do.

MM said the next manager appointment will cause a Bent-style meltdown. I read that as the press/fans would be hugely surprised by the signing, whether it's good or bad.
