  1. They talk some shit don't they?! He is clearly just trying to big up West Ham, he would have been singing it from the rooftops had this 'deal' been in place.
  2. :? Well we are hardly going to go, remember the 07/08 season....when he played well at so and so. If you want examples. Last year, lost our first peace cup game, second game, losing 0-1. Petrov injured, Reo-Coker comes on, win 3-1 to go through and won tournament. doesn't play first game.....second game, he plays, win 3-1. Great performance at Anfield.....then beat Fulham soon after. Plays again in 0-1 win at Blues, admittedly substituted on 70 minutes. Doesn't play from there, struggling for abit of form....comes in for suspended Petrov....he plays as captain, biggest win of season and biggest win since 5-1 vs Blues 07/08....dropped straight after. 1-1 draw at Burnley followed and terrible performance to add. doesn't play again till boxing day, 0-0 against Liverpool, our best player IMO that game and was excellent throughout, substituted, lost 0-1. (unluckily)...... played against Blackburn CM with Delph in Fa Cup, both ran the midfield, won game comfortably. Not been seen since. What more do you want him to do? This. Well said POB. NRC is vastly underrated imo.
  3. It isn't NRC's job to be 'noticed' it's his job to do the simple things well, he's not a match winner in that he will score a Gerrard-esque 30 yard screamer, but he's a match winner in that he will nulify oppposition threat, which imo he does as well as anyone.
  4. I really like NRC, he would be fantastic in a midfield 3, where he wouldn't have to pass more than 10 yards, and would be good in a midfield 2 as he was with Barry. I think he has been hard done by, and should be given another crack, because he always performs well when he plays. Remember he lead us to the Peace Cup triumph last summer, and did well in his favoured central role.
  5. That home shirt mock up looks great, would definately purchase that. I didn't bother with last seasons due the similarity to the season before it, but with a new sponsor I have promised myself that I will treat myself when it comes out.
  6. Joe Cole is a Landaaaan boy and can't see him leaving anytime soon, would be an awesome signing but I'm afraid I really can't see it happening. I'm not convinced by the claims that Ol' 'Arry and Joe 'Guv'nor' Cole are related.
  7. And me. Shame we've already got one that MON chooses to overlook, a good attacking full back, who is just as reliable defending. Luke Young, attacking? To be fair, we don't really know the story there (apart from the obvious). Whatever it is, maybe it resolves itself over the summer? Sorry, didn't make myself clear there, meant that the new rb, if we get one should have those qualities. Luke Young is many things be an attacking full back he is not.
  8. And me. Shame we've already got one that MON chooses to overlook, a good attacking full back, who is just as reliable defending.
  9. As long as MON uses the money wisely it's win win. 28m is a hell of a lot of money, and if spent correctly could improve is immensely. I would be hoping for Ireland to be part of any deal, time will tell I guess, but I would rather have it done sooner rather than later so we can biuld for next season knowing for certain that Milner will no longer be with us. Will be sad to see him go, but that's football.
  10. I'm with you, and being an optimist and reading way too deep into this statement no doubt. Shame he never said "It wasn't Man City, Utd, or Chelsea's team, only Villa." We can but hope!
  11. Indeed, I can't recall this happening before either, although i'm sure it might have, and no doubt there is a VT'er out there with the answer!
  12. I wouldn't care if we had the same sponsors as Kidderminster Harriers, as long as they're paying what we're asking. And let's be fair to Fulham; when was the last time we got to a European final? I do agree that they're a "smaller" team in terms of domestic performances/financial clout but the insinuation that we should be looking down our noses at them is a bit arrogant. Very true, I hadn't really considered the fact that the financial implications of both deals may well be different. I did not intend to come across as arrogant by any means, I have the utmost respect for Fulham and what they achieved last year. I just felt that with it being the biggest sponsorship deal in our history that it would be solely with us in the Premier League. Just not to be I guess. But as you say, as long as they pay us the money, it really doesn't matter a jot.
  13. And there was me thinking we were special and that this deal with FxPro was a step forward, then low and behold a lesser club in Fulham announce the exact same sponsor... not good. Slightly disappointing if you ask me.
  14. We should try and keep hold of him and offer him 75k for the pleasure! He was awesome today, best player on the park!
  15. That shirt looks pretty good to be fair, preferably without the tagline as others have said before. Will be interesting when the kit in unveiled.
  16. That square box looks more like where it has been pressed on as an example shirt rather than a photoshop effort to me. It looks pretty genuine to me, but then again as people have said, I am no expert either
  17. There are worse players than Bentley out there, and there are certainly better, he seems to be the modern day Robbie Keane, linked with Villa every 5 minutes. Wouldn't be adverse to signing him, he's done well to force his way back in at Spurs showing good character. As for Bendtner, no thanks, would be very keen at all. Seems to struggle in a good Arsenal side, will watch his World Cup and see how he plays for Denmark.
  18. This. If we're going to lose him, which i'm not sure we will, I would find it easier to swallow if he went for around 25m + Ireland & Richards, and maybe a few add ons aswell. Then we might be talking! I don't think he's indispensible, but he is highly valued by the club.
  19. A lot of people do tend to make a lot of stuff up, and the effort that goes into lying and fabrication can be quite remarkable. Looking forward to seeing how the summer pans out, I wouldn't be adverse to having 'Arnautovic 9' on the back of my shirt next season
  20. Yeah he seems to be very skillful, he reminds me of C. Ronaldo with his touch, and almost arrogance on the ball, a player I would love to see at Villa definately, would add something we lack and would link well with Gabby. There must be something about him for Mourinho to take a look at him.
  21. Yeah I mentioned that Arnautovic dude in this thread earlier... he seems like a top player from what I have seen, and admittedly that's not a lot! But the prospect of a young exciting European player plying his trade with us is a mouth watering one, and all of the aforementioned players are just that. Fingers crossed this is an area MON is looking at seriously, and we can get in a couple of really exciting signings.
  22. A Yaya Toure... but more realistic? A no nonsense physical brute who reads the play like the back of his hand? They're too few and far between, but we do need one that's for sure. Wouldn't be too keen on Etuhu tbh, although I haven't seen a great deal of him.
  23. I really think MON will pull something out of the hat this summer and suprise us all, but I tend to think/hope for this every transfer window! Some eejit over on BBC 606 is banging on about a forward called Marko Arnautovic, who to be fair looks technically very good based on everybodies favourite reliable source youtube! He's been on loan at FC Twente for the season with McClown and done well so i'm led to believe! We need an exciting foreign talent to walk through the gates of VP imo to really catch the imagination of us fans, and to fill this 50k stadium expansion RL was talking about!
  24. I collected the Premier League Topps stickers this season... and completed it I might add! For the world cup I have been collecting the cards, as working part-time at tesco they are plastered everywhere so was tempted to buy it and give it a go, plus the fact that I used to collect basketball cards in the USA when I was over there when I was younger. I have an absolute shed load of swaps for the vards and nobody to swap them with... I'm starting to get pee'd off as I keep getting the same cards... tempted to quit before I spend too much money on them. A nice touch with the cards is the legend cards available only in Tesco, and I also like the binder that comes with the starter pack, will age better than a sticker book!
  25. awesome goal... loved the milner dummy, lay off from delf, ball wide by milner awesome cross from young and good finish from JC! get iN!
