  1. Harry Redknapp also stated that Cole was going to speak to another prem club this week after speaking to spurs but it was unknown who... Could it be? Too good to be true surely!!
  2. He wouldn't want to swap the Spurs bench for ours, I don't believe he is good enough yet to warrant a starting place at a club of the stature of us or Spurs. KPB is the only player from Pompey's team last year that I would like aswell.
  3. Collins is good, but imo Cuellar is better, and Dunne and Cuellar is the best partnership imo with a natural right back, whether that be Young or another player brought in. However, it's a different issue whether MON see's it this way, and is actually looking at bringing in a right back.
  4. That's their squad number and not their shirt number. Their squad number doesn't change throughout their time at Villa, but obviously shirt numbers can. And the players are also supposed to park in their allocated squad number in the car park at Villa Park as the tour guide kindly pointed out last week.
  5. When I was in the Villa Store on Sunday after a tour of Villa Park all the purple tops were in there, but without the sponsor on them, and the large lion instead of the badge. They looked very nice indeed, and there were some purple training zip up jackets which were awesome.
  6. Those training tops look pretty good, I wonder if the tagline on these points to the tagline being included on the shirt? Doesn't look too bad imo. The players all seem to be wearing tops that are 2 sizes too big for them, or they've all shrunk over the summer?!
  7. Wouldn't say no to adding Gosling to our squad. Seems decent whenever I see him play, can't go wrong for a free at his age IMO.
  8. They talk some shit don't they?! He is clearly just trying to big up West Ham, he would have been singing it from the rooftops had this 'deal' been in place.
  9. :? Well we are hardly going to go, remember the 07/08 season....when he played well at so and so. If you want examples. Last year, lost our first peace cup game, second game, losing 0-1. Petrov injured, Reo-Coker comes on, win 3-1 to go through and won tournament. doesn't play first game.....second game, he plays, win 3-1. Great performance at Anfield.....then beat Fulham soon after. Plays again in 0-1 win at Blues, admittedly substituted on 70 minutes. Doesn't play from there, struggling for abit of form....comes in for suspended Petrov....he plays as captain, biggest win of season and biggest win since 5-1 vs Blues 07/08....dropped straight after. 1-1 draw at Burnley followed and terrible performance to add. doesn't play again till boxing day, 0-0 against Liverpool, our best player IMO that game and was excellent throughout, substituted, lost 0-1. (unluckily)...... played against Blackburn CM with Delph in Fa Cup, both ran the midfield, won game comfortably. Not been seen since. What more do you want him to do? This. Well said POB. NRC is vastly underrated imo.
  10. It isn't NRC's job to be 'noticed' it's his job to do the simple things well, he's not a match winner in that he will score a Gerrard-esque 30 yard screamer, but he's a match winner in that he will nulify oppposition threat, which imo he does as well as anyone.
  11. I really like NRC, he would be fantastic in a midfield 3, where he wouldn't have to pass more than 10 yards, and would be good in a midfield 2 as he was with Barry. I think he has been hard done by, and should be given another crack, because he always performs well when he plays. Remember he lead us to the Peace Cup triumph last summer, and did well in his favoured central role.
  12. That home shirt mock up looks great, would definately purchase that. I didn't bother with last seasons due the similarity to the season before it, but with a new sponsor I have promised myself that I will treat myself when it comes out.
  13. Joe Cole is a Landaaaan boy and can't see him leaving anytime soon, would be an awesome signing but I'm afraid I really can't see it happening. I'm not convinced by the claims that Ol' 'Arry and Joe 'Guv'nor' Cole are related.
  14. And me. Shame we've already got one that MON chooses to overlook, a good attacking full back, who is just as reliable defending. Luke Young, attacking? To be fair, we don't really know the story there (apart from the obvious). Whatever it is, maybe it resolves itself over the summer? Sorry, didn't make myself clear there, meant that the new rb, if we get one should have those qualities. Luke Young is many things be an attacking full back he is not.
  15. And me. Shame we've already got one that MON chooses to overlook, a good attacking full back, who is just as reliable defending.
  16. As long as MON uses the money wisely it's win win. 28m is a hell of a lot of money, and if spent correctly could improve is immensely. I would be hoping for Ireland to be part of any deal, time will tell I guess, but I would rather have it done sooner rather than later so we can biuld for next season knowing for certain that Milner will no longer be with us. Will be sad to see him go, but that's football.
  17. I'm with you, and being an optimist and reading way too deep into this statement no doubt. Shame he never said "It wasn't Man City, Utd, or Chelsea's team, only Villa." We can but hope!
  18. Indeed, I can't recall this happening before either, although i'm sure it might have, and no doubt there is a VT'er out there with the answer!
  19. I wouldn't care if we had the same sponsors as Kidderminster Harriers, as long as they're paying what we're asking. And let's be fair to Fulham; when was the last time we got to a European final? I do agree that they're a "smaller" team in terms of domestic performances/financial clout but the insinuation that we should be looking down our noses at them is a bit arrogant. Very true, I hadn't really considered the fact that the financial implications of both deals may well be different. I did not intend to come across as arrogant by any means, I have the utmost respect for Fulham and what they achieved last year. I just felt that with it being the biggest sponsorship deal in our history that it would be solely with us in the Premier League. Just not to be I guess. But as you say, as long as they pay us the money, it really doesn't matter a jot.
  20. And there was me thinking we were special and that this deal with FxPro was a step forward, then low and behold a lesser club in Fulham announce the exact same sponsor... not good. Slightly disappointing if you ask me.
  21. We should try and keep hold of him and offer him 75k for the pleasure! He was awesome today, best player on the park!
  22. That shirt looks pretty good to be fair, preferably without the tagline as others have said before. Will be interesting when the kit in unveiled.
  23. That square box looks more like where it has been pressed on as an example shirt rather than a photoshop effort to me. It looks pretty genuine to me, but then again as people have said, I am no expert either
  24. There are worse players than Bentley out there, and there are certainly better, he seems to be the modern day Robbie Keane, linked with Villa every 5 minutes. Wouldn't be adverse to signing him, he's done well to force his way back in at Spurs showing good character. As for Bendtner, no thanks, would be very keen at all. Seems to struggle in a good Arsenal side, will watch his World Cup and see how he plays for Denmark.
  25. This. If we're going to lose him, which i'm not sure we will, I would find it easier to swallow if he went for around 25m + Ireland & Richards, and maybe a few add ons aswell. Then we might be talking! I don't think he's indispensible, but he is highly valued by the club.
