  1. no team has scored against us yet, this was an own goal .................. now is the time to judge lambert and as i've said in previous posts he needs our support for being a man, never ran us down and always gets on with his job. master class bringing in keano IMO..........UTV
  2. cleverly should sack his agent as he almost blew the best deal for his player, i'm a bit surprised that players allow such people to represent them as it's their career that they are putting in these peoples hands, i'm sure they can think for themselves. although i think this a strange signing i would have gone for ben arfer who offers a great deal if you get him in the right frame of mind, still i will get behind cleverly and give him every chance of success at the villa........UTV
  3. i would go as far as saying he is the new sid cowans in the making, he's the closest thing i've seen to this great legend.............UTV
  4. i wish i could become a millionaire by doing shit at my job. some people are born lucky and become unappreciative of what they have. may i sugest us trying usane bolt in a pair of football boots because hes quicker than gabby.
  5. at the end of the day we all have our opinions we all know what our club has become. we all need to stick together throughout this frustrating period and focus on the season ahead. whatever will be will be we as fans can't change that so lets just get behind our great club, onwards and upwards hopefully.........UTV
  6. villa own a fair few plots of land in and around vp, the gaming industry had nothing to do with sponsorship of football clubs but was willing to hand out gaming licenses to draw business to its cities . randy thought he would steal a march by buying the biggest club in birmingham and building casions on the land villa owns.this backfired when they changed the gaming law in 2006 and withdrew invitations for companies to open such industries. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2005/19/contents... this IMO is what attrcted randy lerner to our great city, he had an hidden agenda........UTV
  7. what you have all failed to mention is the shirt sponsorship deals, supposed to have been the most luctrative in our history.............where did all this cash go aswell, straight in his pocket is my guess. i still say in todays global football infastructure doug would have done a better job.lerner came over when the gaming industry was offering gaming rights for casinos and he thought he would steel a march by buying AVFC and adding a casino within our villa empire, then all of a sudden they withdrew all this and randy realised his plan had failed and now he wants out. i hear he has even sold the coach park and is looking to offload pubs and land belonging to villa thats why the asking price has dropped. but hey we will never know because he tells us nothing, even his closest dog charles krulak has been muted.........UTV
  8. have to disagree with you there lexion, doug was open and fair with us fans we never sat here waiting like seated dogs with our tongue out waiting on his masters every word. we knew exactly what was going on because he respected us fans, doug in my opinion backed his managers more times than none but dougs biggest downfall was he was impatiant. he is a villa fan through and through and wanted success quickly just like us. in those days there was no sky sports or premier league lavishing clubs with cash he had to do it all on his own.how many of us fans called for managers heads and doug abliged accordingly, do you think lambert would have lasted this long under doug, i think not. we had some great players which doug paid top cash for. what would you give now for the platts, saunders, houghtons, atkinsons, taylors. the list could go on............... so lets be brutaly honest here doug never treated us like we were a bunch of nuckle thumping pricks the way that lerner is treating us so i say things in todays market would have had doug purring with all this cash and we would be in a better position playing side wise. so i say lerner should piss off to his salemites and hand the keys back to doug........UTV
  9. so if this is the case this potential new owner must be giving out instructions of the future of the club. lambert has said there will be more signings after the world cup so is he sanctioning these deals or will they be freebies. we have had so many ITK comments now i take them all with a pinch of salt but the fact still remains the same we are not going into the season with vast investment and given our start with fixtures our confidence level be as low as it was at the end of last season. the players that are coming back from serious long term injuries need to hit the ground running and for the ones that didn't perform need to be stand up and be counted. i feel january transfer window will be too little too late as this means we end buying other clubs cast offs, we need new players with pre season and games under their belts to give a remote chance of even competing. so as this new owner in september he needs to get a move on and get it done before this window closes.......UTV
  10. harris and blitzer buy distressed companies then, well i think we are more depressed than distressed........UTV
  11. i'm all for change apart from team name and colours, there are things that can be accepted but the two i mentioned makes us who we are and where we come from. change the name of the ground but one stand name should remain unchanged! need i say more.......UTV
  12. Surely success breeds money breeds success? I can't imagine it was an entirely level playing field even back in the Victorian era when we were smashing all-comers to win the league so many times, and the double. I also don't think we'd necessarily see a decline in the youth system. If anything we'd be more attractive because better players want to play for successful clubs, however old they are. If we were a Champions League team would Dan Crowley have left for Arsenal? Look how many academy players feature for Real, Barça, Bayern. Liverpool and Yernited too. Quite how anyone can think that a serious level of investment would destroy the soul of this great club, pioneers of league football across the world, the fourth most successful club in English history (despite winning practically bugger in the best part of 80 years) and one time Champions of Europe is beyond me. We're going against the tradition and foundations of the club right now by being crap. They don't give out trophies for moral victories I'm afraid. And William McGregor founded us to be the best club in the world, not to win debating competitions down the pub. victorian era ya cheeky f***er......lol. i'm only 46.............UTV
  13. . i'm guessing it could be someone we haven't heard of yet........UTV Very likely.......like Ann Summers or someone? At least VP would be buzzin' again imagin the halftime entertainment, would be interesting.....UTV
  14. this is just another name in the mix of many, so who says he's defo interested. i think we'll have to wait and see where this lottery ends up and who is the eventual winner. i'm guessing it could be someone we haven't heard of yet........UTV
