From what I have read about him, it wouldn't be very long before he would be pushing Targett for a place in the team. Its great to have so many promising youth coming through, If they don't make it into the senior setup we could probably make a profit of some of them

I think the opposite. Any time I have seen him talk about football he always says he wants to be playing 1st team football every week. Also, last Jan he went on loan to Swans to play 1st team football, he could have stayed here and fought for his place

I am not looking for Smith to be sacked either. I like him and he is doing well at Villa. But I absolutely agree with that statement

I doubt it. That doesn't change the fact that playing in Serie A is less demanding than playing in the PL

As people get older they lose strength, pace and mobility. This is why players retire in their 30s and not their 40s. The PL is fast and physically demanding.

I agree, Smith has been brilliant for us. But there are some problems that we need to address. ElGhazi is simply not good enough to be in the 1st XI. CDM needs addressing and it is not good that we have a 36 year old starting at LB. Hopefully one more quality addition for the middle and if we have a good run on the injury front we can push for the top half finish

I am guessing that as we are practicing long throws from a potential scoring perspective that it will also help us with defending against them. This is a win win for the Brentford game

And Dean was doing it at Brentford too. He got Frank Lampard in to talk to his players about what it is like playing at an elite level. Surely the system we have in place is designed to prevent this of ever happening. I really can't see the club buying any player they don't feel will improve us

I do like that Smith is not afraid to bring people in to 'help' him with something that may not be his forte. Great managers and leaders have the confidence to surround themselves with very strong people
