Footballers don't care about this "big club" nonsense fans romanticize. They just mention it in interviews as they know fans lap it up. 99% care about wages, future wages and location. Edit: maybe I shouldn't read only half of your post before commenting

Crystal palace was the perfect team for benteke to re-start his career given he should thrive on a counter attack direct team but he's struggled badly there. He can't do it for Crystal palace then I don't see how he can do it for us. But if it's the only striker available and it's a loan then I don't really see what choice we got.

Because we very likely will go down. Why would a top player join us knowing that there's a good chance in 6 months he's going to have to reduce his wage by a big %? And it's hard to move away from a club when you've only been there for 6months. And then you got the problem of why would a team sell one of their better players when there's 5 months of the season left.

I don't know why I'm asking this but would everyone be dead in the air or would there be quite a lot of people alive whilst they watch themselves falling to the ground and die?

I can't blame OGS. United squad is just full of nothing players and has been that way for years. The team has got no quality in it unless Pogba is playing. Lingard. Pereira. James. Rashford. Offer absolutely nothing apart from they can run fast. The fault lies only at the recruitment. Looking more and more like an amazing achievement that Mourinho managed to finish 2nd with these clowns in charge of recruitment.

I guess he's just 4th choice to take Lansbury spot? Which isn't too bad a loan signing. But pretty dissapointing as it means we can't get giroud or bats.

Has it been reported that we have a pretty limited budget this window? I would like the following to happen. Spend big for an excellent winger and try to bring in martinelli on loan. If martinelli isn't possible, giroud as the main loan signing with someone who has pace like nketiah to bring on the last 20 minutes when girouds legs will be gone. I agree we shouldn't be developing other teams youngsters without the option of buying them but we haven't really got a choice. I just struggle to see us signing a quality striker and winger in a January transfer window. We need a goalkeeper and cm also.

Been following Villa for a long time. Can't catch every game as I'm travelling the Asian continent but I watch what I can and follow this forum frequently. Transfer window is the best time to contribute to discussion and it got me interested in signing up. Hopefully we can stay up this year. UTV.
