  1. Does Laursen even want to go into coaching? Kevin MacDonald would be ideal no.2 imo but he doesnt want to do it - the fool
  2. Laursen? As in MArtin Laursen? If Kevin McDonald had any **** sense he should be no.2
  3. Left probably a worse Liverpool side behind than he inherited. Made a complete mess at Inter - albiet Mourinho tough act to follow - but did you not see the Inter V Spurs games? Rafa excelled himself there in tactical crapness. His CV is undeniably decent and anyone whos won a champions league has managerial calbire but hes been on the wane in recent years. His liverpool side were awful to watch , his transfer record was pretty embarrasing , the sheer number of players he went through is quite astounshing he seems to alienate ppl - including hes beloved Stevie G in gthe end. Screams bad fit to me.
  4. Benitez would seem like another bad fit. undeniably impressive CV , crap football tho and has been on the wane in recent years and seems be losing it - He even ended up alienating Stevie G in the end. Inter V Spurs he got so wrong . His transfer record is pretty embarrasing on the whole at Liverpool. The sheer turnover of players he went through was astonishing and you can't blame that on the Yanks that were there. I just think hed be a bad fit - no denying his pedigree to an extent in what hes won but just screams "no" to me.
  5. IF the club appointed Rafa ..guess i would shut up and support him but bloody hell i would Just hope he can revert to his 2005 days and before as past couple of years hes completely lost it. Transfer reecord at Liverpool was at times baffling . Did ppl here watch the Inter V Spurs games? As good as Spurs were RAfa certainly helped them
  6. @ Redman - whats your views of Rafa? Am i being harsh in thinking the team he left was arguably worse than one he inherited from Houllier and hes lost his marbles ?
  7. :? :? :? :? :? :?
  8. if it doesnt work out with Benitez , lets go for Graeme Souness or Roy Evans maybe?
  9. He arguably left a worst Liverpool squad than he inherited from Houllier. Benitez has pedigree etc but has lost his marbles.
  10. Personally be dissapointed if its not Ancelotti or Hughes. Moyes simply won't happen. Benitez and McClown fill me with dread tbh
  11. Benitez was given plenty of time at Liverpool wasn't he? And in the end left an arguably worse squad than he inherited from Houllier. The ammount of players he got through was also quite remarkable. No denying he has pedigree (champs league win etc) but he seems to have lost the plot past few years and even alienated the likes of Gerrard in the end. The Inter job was always going to be hard and difficult after Mourinho but he made some really awful decisions - did you see the games against Spurs ? Also his hardon for Liverpool would be irritating. I think he'd be another bad fit for us.
  12. Martinez is a weak shout IMO. Not experienced enough yet and despite Wigan always playing well against us they can be **** awful also. This idea he has them playing free flowing great attacking football is bollocks to certain extent. Hes done well to keep them up and is a likeable bloke who may well go onto bigger things but would be far too much of gamble for us now. And i get the distinct impression our players would walk all over him.
  13. Talking of Heskey whats the latest? I heard Leicester were after him ?
  14. He was a midfielder ? no? Completely forgot about him - he was brilliant at Valencia (was it?) circa 2001ish. Absolute shite in England. EDIT - you're on about Maccarone? He was woeful (bar a few European games)
  15. lol yes that is one first few images that springs to mind when McClaren is mentioned. He did ok at Boro - winning a league cup was good and did have a good Euro run but at times Boro were **** awful under McClaren and he was fairly heavily backed back then which think ppl forget . And whilst England job is seem a poison challice by many to manage to not qualify from that group for Euro 2008 was **** woeful .
  16. McClaren - good coach but shit manager imo in fairness to him probably will return to Prem one day and do a decent job for whoever he ends up at. BUT ...i wouldn't want us to give him that opportunity. Fans would be on his back from the start and would make things pretty much impossible and after last season its really not what we need. They'd be a riot i think if he was appointed here.
  17. He has lot of friends in press. But to answer your first question- NO. He did great here for a while - the 2007-08 season was one most exciting i rmber (albeit - not always for right reasons). We later then very nearly did break top 4 but came up short and things soured . Very good manager -man management wise but bit naive and lacks plan B tactically..
  18. His bedroom ceiling would be artexed in an instant. i imagine he has a room like in a certain Alan Patridge episode but dedicated to Deschamps.
