  1. That is probably the funniest thing I've ever read on these boards. indeed
  2. They were 5th when he was sacked. They finished 5th that season. And If anything he would of learnt a lot from his time at City . Id rather Hughes than Jol and McClaren put it that way.
  3. No it wouldn't. Why? Because i rate him. I'd like Ancelotti and would be my first choice and it would be a coup of some sorts . but i like Hughes as well - imo an improving and hungry manager - who imo would do well here. His sides do play some decent stuff as well. I think hes being underated by some.
  4. Just heard his interview on sky sports, if you listen from the 6th minute onwards he seems to sugguest that most clubs have already made season plans and work only starts from the 1st July (when Sparky becomes available) when players return after international duties/summer holidays, but surely all those plans were not in place at Villa! What with GH in hospital from the 20th April does anyone believe that Randy would let him continue making player choices/who goes was obviouse to most as most were out of contract. He does seem to imply that there is a good chance that he will come to Villa Park as Chelsea might be looking for a more experienced manager. http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,26691,12606_6965155,00.html Hey that's my point of view. Thanks for that link. Interestings. If we are still in for Hughes (which think is almost very likely) it would be proper frustrating, irritating and ridiculous if we did have to wait till 1st of July for him to be named manager
  5. In fairness id expect Liverpool to finish 5th-6th next season maybe flirt with top 4 at some point. So in taht sense from the mess Benitez left yes they are back to an extent . Id imagine Kenny Daglish to do a decent job there. Also think some forgetting we haven't won anything in 15 years . In the last 10 years alone Liverpool have won the champions league , FA Cup , UEFA cup , league cups etc , been champs league regulars. . So lets not start comparing you know whats just yet. Not oputting us down but the idea Liverpool isn't a big club because theyve been bit shit last 2 years is just silly
  6. works for me . Ancelotti or Hughes id be happy with. Moyes.....just won't happen. Jol .....meh from me Benitez id be pissed off with tbh McClaren......oof . Good coach crap manager. In fairness to him probably could do alright in Prem again if given the chance. But id rather it not be with us. Think they be a riot if he was appointed.
  7. Someone mentioning on here that Lerner and McClaren "get on" (or words to that effect) concerns me a bit!
  8. That's not really a problem, IMO. Agreed. Worrying about doing well is not on my worry list at moment.
  9. Look closer at where he started off in Italy managerial wise.
  10. Personally not keen on Jol . If it was Jol does that mean we would need a director of football as well?
  11. Well he never worked with Ray Wilkins anywhere else apart from at Chelsea.
  12. the bit i've made bigger would suggest that this is bullshit unfortunately
  13. @ BOF "Before signing, however, the Italian coach, who in recent weeks has also been approached by Arsenal and Tottenham, " Arsenal approaching Ancelotti? hmmm oh well sounds like bullshit then.
  14. Tongue in cheek, take no notice :winkold: Besides that Maclaren is a clown. Great coach mind, but a muppet of a person. i think there are a lot of better options out there! SALIFOU
  15. According to The Guardian tho we haven't made ANY contact with Ancelotti. From an article on there :- "Villa say they have an open mind about filling their vacancy. Speculation that Carlo Ancelotti is among their leading candidates is wide of the mark, however. The former Chelsea manager has not received any contact from Villa and he is known to have no interest in the position. Ancelotti, according to sources close to the Italian, is holding out for a club that can offer Champions League football. "
  16. Hmmm maybe. Would be incredibly frustrating and very irritating if we didn't official announce a new manager until 1st of July tho.
  17. David O'Leary was sacked by a club in Dubai in April. Learn something new everyday..
