Completely forgot about this guy. One of the few left on the team to properly make the step up.

He has shown it in patches but not for a sustained length of time.  I agree with above in that I think he could be more suited to CAM rather than the wing...doesn't have enough pace or trickery to play there at this level.

  2. Phillips is highly regarded in their setup...similar to McGinn in ours.  We would try to fleece any suitors for as much as possible too.

Also, considering the possible animosity/jealousy towards our promotion and subsequent cash injection, they sort to get as much as possible from us.

The world changed and we decided to treat each other better.  If I inadvertently said something which is hostile to a large portion of our support I would like a friendly fan to politely let me know.

Again, I am not a mod to feel free to ignore me if you think I am talking nonsense.  I am just asking you to reconsider.

Just think you're being over sensitive now almost for the sake of it.

Having a joke about the size of a willy has nothing to do with stereotyping or anything else.

I suggest you search Peter North or Danny D if you think it is!

    Please stop.

I am not a mod, I am just asking you as a fellow fan. Most Villa fans regard this stereotype as racist even if you dont and we want to be a welcoming inclusive club.

What the **** has the world come to?? So now only black men have huge members then? Jesus Christ!!

He's got good vision and technique but what strikes me most about him is his reading of what's developing and anticipation to get in a position to intercept or tackle, or help a teammate out. He seems to make these 10-20 yard runs really quick to meet the ball and appear seemingly out of nowhere, he did this a few times against Norwich and instead of taking a touch to control it, look up and try and find someone with the ball, his "interception" was a one touch pass immediately setting us off up the field. If he keeps it up he's going to be a cracking player.

This will only get better and better with the sharper match fitness....don't forget that they guy missed most of preseason while his dispute with Brugge continued.

The money you get for being in the Premier league and parachute payments are two different things. If we were to get relegated we'd still get the parachute payments, we haven't spent them already because we haven't had them the same with every other club in the division.

Hey mate....you are not reading what I am saying...there is no way we got given more money than the winners of the premier league for winning the championship playoff!!

As winners of said game, you are guaranteed the 100 odd million because even if you are relegated again, you will receive this amount in the form or parachute payments.

Also, ever heard of 'offsetting'??? Many businesses do this.

The money we've spent in the summer has nothing to do with parachute payments, we only get those if we get relegated.

Which equates to 100 odd million over 3 season's which is what I said about the Playoff prize money!

Don't think we've spent our parachute payments, we just spent the money we got for going up.

I could have sworn he said that the £150m equated to 3 years of parachute payments....i thought that the reason that the playoff final is the richest game in football is because the winner is guaranteed £150m even if relegated again.

There is no way we recieved that sort of money just for being promoted in the playoff final.

  9. Don't think this will be for transfers.  I thought Purslow said in that Sky Sports interview that we had spent our 3 years of possible parachute payments this summer.  Plus, I thought that we spent pretty much our whole entitlement of transfer money according to FFP regulations too.

I think this will be for infrastructure and building of the new Store and hotel.

I presume there won't be one, given they've just splurged on fancy new hospitality facilities in it.

I doubt it would have cost too much to strip the old woodchip paper off and put on a new coat of paint ;)

But I agree that the time to expand is now.....we are on a massive upsurge at the moment with the best football we have seen in the last 20 years regualarly being showcased at VP and  belief that we are on the verge of something special in our life times as Villa fans.

A swanky new North Stand with built in facilities as described above would take our infrastructure to all new levels!!

He will be starting for us by the end of the year IMO, I think talent wise he's the best centre half we have, he's a serious prospect. As much as Engles has started well I've seen a drop off in his levels over the past 3-4 games, Konsa I expect will be the one to come in for him.

I admire your optimism but I seriously think next season will be when he is pushing.

  13. Criticism is fine if it is given with sound reasoning and such...but the 'Poor from Smith' sorts of posts are the ones that rile.

Such as Arsenal...he would have been hammered more if he had have made changes that resulted in the loss...and those knee jerk posts after that match were proper spoilt little princess stuff and quite frankly embarrassing!

  14. We have been competitive in a league that has moved on massively in the 3 seasons that we were out of it.

Yes we have made mistakes and that is understandable considering the manager has 0 premier league experience as do most of the players but some of the knee jerk reactions have been embarrassing. Now we all know one swallow does not a summer make but this has been coming for a couple of games.  I think we will now be looking up rather than down from now on.

Well done Dean and the whole coaching/ management team.
