Was really excited when we signed Konsa but turns out I’m loving Engles instead.

Konsa will get his chance and I think will grow and excel too.  I do like the look of Engels though....reminds me of Kompany.

Him and Mings are forming a formidable partnership.  You can see that when Mings tried to adjust his teeth for him!

Took that chance like someone who's scored in the prem before - he's right at home.

Lovely finish and I don't think Tammy would have scored that...controversial I know!

Football goes and comes in cycles. Just feels like it's our time now. It's a togetherness and belief around the club i haven't felt for years and years.

Definitely this! I feel everything is right for us to really push on and put our name back in the echelons of football.

Not getting carried away with last night's result at all.  I know we will have some great ups and depressing downs and I will still take 17th now if someone offered it!

But I definitely think this feels so different to the other 'false dawns' we've had!

We have business men dealing with the business and bringing in the maximum £££

And football men dealing with the football bringing in the right players at the right price and coaching them a system and philosophy that makes them better and is good on the eye too!

I mean both our goals last night were pure quality! The intelligent runs, the accurately weighted passes and the finishes. If Ci£eh or plop had scored those, the press would be creaming their pants about it!

If in 2 seasons time we are still in the PL we will add to the further. Exciting times

Indeed we will but that starting 11 last night will grow with 2 seasons extra experience and maturity.  To me that is very reassuring knowing the backbone of the squad will be good enough to survive year after year.

And you can't say that about Newcastle and Palace. Gives me some hope

I remember hearing a quote a few years ago relating the England rugby team after they won the World Cup in 2003 and then went shit for a few years. 'A drowning man bobs up 3 times before drowning.'  It happened to us and it is happening to these two now.  Wouldn't be surprised to see either of them go down.

The best bit is, this team isn't even 'settled' yet. We're only going to get better!!!

We could have been on 5/7 points.

    In Dean we trust.

Not just the 'settled' but the age too.  Like I said previously in another topic, the core of this squad will have sustainability for at least 5 seasons.  Two season's time, that starting 11 will be top half easily IMO.

  7. If you look a few seconds before Jack takes the quick free kick that lead to the goal, Wes had peeled off his man and showed real disappointment that he wasn't released....then he realises 'game on' makes a great run from left to right which the Everton defenders didn't pick up!  I like that...shows intelligence.

And a win tomorrow and the same posters will be creaming all over him.....I swear there is a word to describe such behaviour but can't quite remember what it is 🤔🤔😁😁

Now what was that word again??? 😂😂😂

And gonna get in there first before you know who and say......I thought Smith got it wrong tonight!!! 😂😂😂😂😂

  9. We dominated and were unlucky with 2 mistakes and nothing at the other end :(

unlike our relegation season where we were outplayed and still got punished for our mistakes.

We will come good and Bournemouth still tried to push for another so didn't just sit back!

  10. To be honest, it wasn't how the team was set up that cost us today, it was the individual errors. Something we have been prone to do for what seems like forever. We may have got away with them in the championship but not the Premier League.

Despite that, our reaction was very good.  We took the game to and dominated Bournemouth. On another day we may well have got something.

I'm not worried as I think we will turn the corner and hopefully that will be what some see as a 'freak' result against Everton. 🤞🤞

    Without being too picky

Just wondering who the 4 players we had on loan we signed ? Mings hause, el ghazi and ? And all but heaton at 33 mings at 26 everyone else 24 or under ? How old is jota ? I though he was 28 ? Needs to do a bit more research Christian 🤔

Seriously??? So the fact that he was talking up our club with superlatives, these points have struck an accord with you?!?! Jeez!

  12. He alluded to the opposite with his team selection in the after match press conference but I think he did it to keep the team chemistry too.  It gives the new players a little while longer to gel in training as well as putting a lid on the 'Billy Big Bollox' attitudes that can happen with any new arrival.

If he had have put many of the new signings in and we got a pasting, then we would all be asking the question 'where do we go from here?' At least we know we haven't show  our full hand yet and have got plenty in reserve! The starting 11 will only get stronger!
