The last two seasons have provided more enjoyment than the previous 10. The goal of reaching the premier league is driving us all on but what happens when we get there? Be careful what you wish for.

We have played extremely well (mostly)against other playoff contenders Forest,Derby, Bristol etched beaten some them very confincingly. We are playing some of the best football I have seen for many,many years. We haven’t beaten any of the top 4 this season so I think it’s extremely difficult to predict playoffs.Last season I predicted we could beat Middlesbororugh and we could beat Fulham but not Middlesborough and Fulham. I think people are under estimating Albion ,they were a prem team last year and before that were rarely in relegation trouble.They actually have best squad in the league. Lets just concentrate on getting in the playoffs I think we will need to get something from our last 2 games.

A great team performance. We were missing some big players but still carried on winning.I think that is the greatest achievement from today.I can’t think of a single player who played badly.Yes chances were missed especially by Hurrihane but he was directly involved with our 2 gaols. Elgazi had his best game in a Villa shirt and McGinn played like McGinn does ,magnificently.Taylor ,Jed, Elmahad all good. Davis when he came on showed the potential that was evident last season. Smith is creating a style that can replicated with different personal and that has got to be the most positive thing from today.

Worried about the game. Worried about our energy levels afters Wednesdays game. Worried about loss of Mings and Jed replacing him. Worried about Jack .Is he injured? Worried about Tammys confidence levels. Game feels like Wolves game last season but hopefully we have learnt that these games don’t promote you it’s just another 3 points.. A draw wouldn’t be a bad result.

Our strong team spirit is getting us valuable points. Having players like McGinn is so important,he sets an example that others have to follow.

Looking at Derby and Middlesbrough fixtures both of them have far from easy games (except for Derby this weekend against Bolton) So game against Bristol at weekend is more about whether we finish 5th or 6th providing we don’t do a QPR against Bolton and Millwall

Difficult game to predict.Can we keep up our recent form?How good are Sheff Wed?How good is Bruce? I think a draw would be a good result for us.

Couldn’t agree more .Maybe there is a lesson here for us in the future.

We have been here before with raised expectations. The current run has been helped by not assuming we are going to win before the game has started.Whenever we start to take games for granted we come unstuck.Just because you beat a top 6 side 3-0 doesn't mean you are guarenteed to beat to beat relegation threatened teams. The combination of complacency from players and raised expectancy from fans is a dangerous combination. We need to concentrate on 1 game at a time and pray Grealish and Mings don't get injured.

Confidence high,defence looking solid ,Grealish back and playing well,fans believing in Smith. Prediction 0-1 loss

Mings giving us solidarity at the back and Grealishs ability to keep the ball make us a potent force.A win on Saturday would put us in a very strong position but we have been here before and we must not get carried away.Forest looked poor . As regards MON he spent huge sums on some very good players and also spent huge sums on some very average players with long contracts which when Lerner decided he couldn't fund ended up with us in the Championship.

I don't think we have any chance of making automatic promotion places now.....

Defensively we look more solid but we don't seem to be able to hold the ball up in attack,playing Davis with Abraham might help. Not optimistic but you never know with Villa. 4-4

Somebody earlier said there are reasons why our squad is shit and they don't blame smith or Bruce. I think this is a accurate assessment .Its difficult to judge smith too harshly because he has players who don't suit his style. Has he improved the playing style compared to Bruce - No Are any players playing better under Smith than Bruce?Elphick? Elgazi and Adomah are they any good.?On tonight's showing No Our midfield lacks steel and creativityand our defence can't bring the ball forward safely. The strange thing is we have some really good players Mings ,McGinn,Abraham and goalkeeper.I thought Hutton did ok but the rest were poor.

It's over for this season.Some of the transfer business tells me the owners want reduce the FFP penalties and concentrate on next year. The loaning of Hogan to a promotion rival only makes sense if we don't care about this season and want to sell him in the summer. The team is disjointed and is not going up this season. Hopefully Smith can start to get in the players that are comfortable playing his style of football.Seeing Norwich v Leeds reinforces how slow and ponderos we are.There is going to be a huge clear out this summer and that could be a good thing.

I think next game against reading is vital.Win that and we could be much closer to playoffs. Taking one game at a time is something Villa fans tend not to do .We look forward far too much and put pressure on ourselves.

Negative energy from fans makes players play worse.Creative players avoid anything risky and defenders make more mistakes. Yes the team are not playing as well as they could. but with toxic atmosphere promotion is impossible.

Hope crowd stay with team even if Hull score first. Would like to see Adomah back because I think he provides more defensive cover.

We need to be patient. Farke Norwich manager started May 2017 finished in 14th place in first season. Our squad is unbalanced defence is weak and players like Bolassie and El gazi I don't think are suited to getting promoted from championship.Sorting this out is long term job.

We may be overreacting here. We played badly with a makeshift team People have been calling for new signings especially in defence do we expect new players added to team only assembled in August to suddenly play well.We have some good players but we don't have a team.

The way so many of our players seem to be underperforming could be due to the pressure we put on our players. People have stated we should be winning our next 4/5 games easily ,this league is unpredictable,we have an extremely unbalanced squad,how many games have these players played together Our defence yesterday how many times have they played together?

Terrible performance terrible result Scapegoat this time well it can't be Nyland ,Hutton,Elhamody,Bruce,Hogan need some new ones

I think our season rests on how long Jack is out for,if it's a long term injury I think we will struggle to make playoffs. Surprisingly Tzaneube is also a crucial player to our new style of football as none of the other defenders are comfortable on the ball . I hope Smith rests most of first team for FA cup game and maybe a week's rest may help our performances.

WThis talk of winning our next 6 easy games is misguided. We are not good enough to put a run together like that.This reminds me of Bruce's first season initially we did very well then after January transfer window there was a slump due to new players taking time to adapt.At the moment play offs seem a possibility not certainty. I worry a bit about tiredness ,under Bruce our players struggled with 2 matches a week and Smith favours a more pressing game which. requires a higher level of fitness .I think Smith is going to need time to get players in who can play his style of football.

I think Smith is doing great job and Bruce is being blamed for our poor start. Our preseason was affected by talk of administration,Grealish transfer saga ran on for weeks,loan signings didn't arrive until last day of transfer window after we had played a few games . I think any manager would have struggled with these circumstances and many of our first team Abraham ,McGinni,Bolasie,El gazi only played together after transfer window closed.
