7 1/2 weeks until my NYC marathon, unfortunately I fell off my bike and damaged my ribs the weekend before last so currently the longest ive gone without any training for probably 6 years. Hoping to get on the turbo trainer in the next few days and then basically gonna have to blag the marathon on little training.
  2. Great day of racing thus far, made it all very interesting for sure
  3. Yeah I think sometimes Aru suffers from a case of the Ritchie's, I.e. Look awesome for 2 1/2 weeks then just goes bang. It's happened to Froome before too but not quite so bad. I think Froome though wouldn't be too sad about losing the yellow for a while as it takes the pressure off and as long as he is relatively close he will put serious time into all the other GC guys in Marseille. i find the form thing interesting too looking at the difference between Quintana and Landa. It's crazy how sometimes the legs just don't work. To be honest it's been the same for me recently where I cycled instead of ran for a few weeks due to injury and I can't even run a 10k at my marathon pace at the moment. I still haven't quite figured out why this happens.
  4. I wanted Cummings to win the stage but no time for either Aru or Bardet, both have form on bad sportsmanship and personally feel Froome has always conducted himself professionally and I think he is a great sportsman who isn't held in high regard because he isn't Bradley Wiggins but as far as tour riding goes a much better GC rider. I like the cyclists and don't give a shit who owns them, at least it gets money into a sport that needs it and deserves it rather than football where 2nd rate players are paid millions.
  5. Hmm so dump on sky for an unproved allegation but use Aru as your shining light, I mean Astana have had bans this year.... It seems Sky are another example of a successful British team who get torn down like everything else in this country, the French for example would never do that to their own teams but hey it's a normal thing for this country - we don't like anybody to do well!!
  6. Im not sure I get the "Cav did this so nothing should happen to Sagan thing". To start I dont think Sagan should of been kicked out of the tour, but alot of blame has been put on to Cav and as far as I can see it was his DS who threw his toys out of the pram, Cav didnt really say alot on the matter. Aru is a scum bag who doesnt understand the spirit of cycle racing and if he never won another race it wouldnt be too long, I really hope he blows soon and loses his podium.

I would advise Running Shoes as much as it will help stop injury and for hills its more about body position (lean forward a tiny bit) and drive the arms.

I have 3 different makes for 3 different types, a Boardman cyclocross, a Cervelo R3 road bike and a specialised shiv TT, but if I was buying a road bike again I would look at Canyon for sure, but they are sent from Germany so you would need to find out what size you are (by trying other makes and comparing dimensions).
  10. And my argument is that what she has said in the part of the statement you highlighted is very clear and I still don't get why you used it to criticise her, you were suggesting that her poor wording was inciting hatred from the racists. Surely if you understand it then what she has said there is okay and neither confirms or denies a racist's bias. So to answer your first part, of course there will be negativity towards the community and it's awful, but has nothing to do with May's statement.
  11. Not quite! i understand that YOU criticised her for her wording and what she said very clearly is that these nutters want to split the west and Islam and that these nutters say they are not compatible and then she follows to say that they are perverting their religion for their own gains. I honestly don't see how anybody would see this as a red rag to the "racist" bull, when it's quite the opposite. Hence why I have suggested anybody who sees it the other way wether it's to strengthen their already ignorant racist thoughts or a political stick to beat her with isn't very smart. It feels like somebody being shown one of those ink plot drawings and asking what they see and whilst it's quite obviously a flowery they reply "two monkeys humping".
  12. I can only assume you missed the bit where she says "perversion of Islam" as I really don't see the point you are trying to make other than misreading what she has said.
  13. Ignore the quote it's not turvontour saying this, I messed up the quote box
  14. And like Trumps quote you have missed the key part of her statement.
  15. I can only suggest that anybody who reads it this way or suggests that it is read that way are so caught up in their own ideological beliefs that they can't actually read properly. A bit like Trump's tweet on Sadiq Khan. Either way pretty dumb!!

Shh you are not allowed to talk about triathlon, they get upset :-) No idea on the Lidl one, but I hear good things about the DHB one on wiggle and its pretty reasonable - I would recommend 2XU in the sale though if you can pick it up,

Nah that dude was cooked, he had colapsed on the floor once already and couldnt hold himself up, he would of been dragged off the course by St Johns if he hadnt been dragged over the line. I could see this all going on as I came round the corner and wasnt feeling great as had about 100 people pass me running up past St James Park and then basically thought "at least Im not that dude", but looking at the video, he is the only one slower than me going down the final straight :-)

Hehe, very pleased Ive kept my 100% record of 3 (road) marathons (Ironman doesnt count) and all under 3 hours and hope to do the same again in NYC in November although may use this to test a new strategy of basically taking a gel at the start and one after 6 miles then just water for the rest of the race. A few days rest then some light running and some cycling as I have a week cycling in Mallorca mid-May and havent been on my bike since Xmas, then Im going to spend the summer trying to get my 5K/Parkrun/10K time down some more.

I also managed a cameo in that viral video of the guy being helped over the line, I turn up whilst he is being helped by the two guys in the finishing straight and I get a nice few seconds of me dry-heaving my way down the right hand side past the royals.

Great run villakram, I was a minute slower than you at London today, totally fell apart at mile 18 as the gels spiked my heart rate and made me sick but hey a 5 min PB.

Im thinking a lunchtime trip to GBK Monday. I tend to try and go for Japanese food when in London but then again I may go for something rotten instead. Last year I didn't eat anything for 5 hours after VLM then grabbed a family bucket of KFC on the way home.
