The ones that piss me off are when you end up with something like _IKES after 3 tries, and then have to decide between MIKES, BIKES, HIKES, LIKES etc.
Just had that kind problem for 5 solid goes.
All the grey squares are unique letters. Enraging.
I just played Wordle Archive Day 11. (6/6)

Lost that one, sighed. Tried day 2, nearly flipped my table when I saw the answer
Haha I got it but I was definitely helped by seeing your post and therefore expecting some underhanded f**kery.
I just played Wordle Archive Day 2. (4/6)
SpoilerRepeat letters are always harder but that was taking the Michael.

I was hoping there was something like this.
I just played Wordle Archive Day 1. (6/6)
Day 1 was a right bastard

Forgot about the deadline until a few minutes before and then just stabbed at any random DGW player with my FT. Put in Mount, can't even remember who for.Β
Saw the news about Arsenal Spurs being in doubt but forgot to take the C off Kane in my haste.

wanted to use a free hit to get the doubles in then bench boost but don't think that's possible?
trying to maximise the doubles here
got an itchy trigger finger. want to do my team now but know i need to wait till tomorrow
Yeah one chip at a time unfortunately.
Is it my imagination or are this week's DGW options pretty s***? You can't really plan ahead these days but in my mind this was a potential freehit week but there are **** all players with doubles that I'd even want to bring in. Watford have the easiest fixtures but only 2 viable FPL players.
-
Love him, he has been here since we were properly ****. So many key moments from him along the way, hope he has a good enough season to make the Netherlands squad.

Went against my standard tactic of only having defenders who attack in open play and chose a Dawson instead of a Coufal because of his xG and it has ended up costing me 5 points and an overall cup round win.
Still 82 and a small green arrow with no hits so not dreadful, no clue what I'm doing for the weekend though. Most of the doubles are very unappealing. I really don't want another United player if I can help it.

SpoilerPlayed move the same two letters round for a few goes. Really not an obvious word in the end.

Heβs going to get so much love here. Fans and players alike a bit like when Bailey scored from that corner against Everton and Mings lifted him up like that Baboon did to The Lion king

Wordle 207 3/6
Β
SpoilerLike @chappyΒ said, not the English spelling which made it a lot harder to get. After the second guess I couldn't think of a single word that fit what I had without using the letters already eliminated for about a minute. I'd have been well buzzed out on Lingo.

Talking of the cup, in the overall cup my s**thouse of an opponent played his FH and ended up with a similar team to me except for a few extra DGW players. Looked almost certainly out but thankfully one of them was the Brentford keeper who has just scored an OG and conceded 4. Back in the balance now. Need a Dawson goal to swing it really.

such a pity we dont have a better shirt number to give him.
As you can see from the post by @villan-scott number 23 comes with serious BDE

Over the past year in his position he's in the top 5% in Europe for tackles won and also puts in high numbers for number of pressures made per 90. You must know some tenacious children in that case.
Paul has seen more tenacity from a 12 year old but everyone else has seen less tenacity from 95% of all attacking midfielders

So who is it this weekend? Oliver again? Phil Dowd? Kevin Friend?
I read somewhere they're cutting out the middle man and just letting Sir Alex ref it himself

It's a strategy and would help with some quick wins, but it's limiting and potentially increases chances of losing as you don't eliminate as many options. You can get to the final guess and have a 50/50 call on two letters which you might have been able to avoid if you'd used them earlier.Β
Yeah you're right it is slightly limiting if the word is obscure, I've not played enough to gauge the difficulty level.
SpoilerToday's word for example had 3 letters with a Scrabble value of 1 and one with a value of 2 but if they throw in something like JUNKY then it becomes much more difficult to get with the hard mode rule in place.

Wordle 206 2/6
First ever go but I did see about 10 episodes of Lingo over Christmas which, as @Stevo985mentioned, is exactly the same game so I already had decent tactics in mind.
7 minutes ago, Rds1983 said:Apparently there's a hard mode option. Might have to give that a go.Β
Hard mode just forces you to use the letters you already have in subsequent guesses which is really just good strategy.

He has been an assist machine the last two seasons before Rafa arrived and had him basically playing LCB.
I think the only full backs/wing backs with more offensive output than him over 19/20 and 20/21 were TAA and Robertson who were playing for a side scoring 100 goals and getting 90+ points while Digne was in a midtable team.

Nice ball in.
Unfortunately our new system doesn't suit him as much as the previous one but he's miles ahead of most of the other wide attacking options so I hope we keep him.

Talked to my Brazilian colleague about how excited I am, and heβs like βPhilippe who?β
Apparently itβs pronounced as Col-chee-new. Our entire nation has been pronouncing it wrongly.
I think for the first syllable isn't actually an L at the end, it's a sort of nasally noise similar to an n said as if you've got a bit of a blocked nose. We don't really use it in English.
The last syllable as well tends to just fall away in Brazilian Portuguese so it's said like you can't be arsed to finish the word. Closer to nyu than nyoo (new).
But almost every Brazilian footballer's name is pronounced here not as they would pronounce it themselves. Ronaldinho should start with something closer to a H sound than an R sound for example.

Not the actions of a mercenary to me. He'd rather play for us on reduced wages than stay at Barca. That's good character to me.Β
In fact it's so admirable that if Xavi hadn't said it himself I wouldn't have believed it.
He has effectively paid millions of pounds for the opportunity to play for us.

Made a typo on my second guess which cost me a bit. The standard one a day game is losing its appeal now I can gorge myself on the archive of games.
