I'll be honest, I didn't watch a single Lyon game last season that wasn't either against PSG or in the CL and he didn't play more than a few minutes in any of the ones I watched. That said, I have to say the stats suggest he really didn't perform as badly as their fans would have us believe:
Of their entire squad, he was ranked 2nd for xA/90 and Barca are trying to get the guy ranked ahead of him. 0.26 xG/90 is alright as well for a winger.
I for one can't wait to see what he can do for us.

I imagine the Athletic pay for their own private analytics data. No idea though. Think this is per/90, couldn't possibly be above Trent on quantity.
That's a different stat but the per 90 qualifier would make it far more believable, if you added a minimum number of minutes played qualifier as well.
Edit - Just checked and he actually has the 4th highest xA/90 for any player who played 1500 minutes or more. Very impressive.

Where the hell does this guy get his stats from? I swear he becomes more of a hack every time I see his name.
It seemed completely unbelievable at first glance so I checked and it's not even close to being true as far as any source I can find says.
Understat have Hourihane ranked 27th in the league for xA last season, which is impressive anyway considering where we finished but nowhere near 3rd.
For reference Grealish is ranked 7th behind KDB, TAA, Mahrez, Salah, Willian, Robertson and David Silva.

Former lurker, soon to be a poster. I like to think that my opinions are at least as ill informed as everyone else's.
I had a season ticket back in the halcyon days of finishing sixth every year (and when Gabby still ran) up until the end of the McLeish season and for some reason I've got one again this season.
I like to spend my Saturday afternoons watching 5 forwards and one midfielder jog around in a disorganised manner so I'm understandably distraught that we've ditched Robbie.
