  1. I wouldn’t rule out Ferran, and as much as people don’t like it - Felix… not at this point anyway… Think it’s evident that Digne is needed too, at least until Moreno is back, fit and firing…
  2. Not been an entertaining watch has it? Valencia aggressive but none of their players have impressed… We seem a bit tired n off it, it looks really hot out there and we only recently played Lazio…
  3. I do feel a “big signing” is on the way, to help us out in attack…
  4. Expect us to be better in 2nd half, after an education by Unai and some changes…
  5. Judging by our shirts… it’s 40 degrees and the players are burning alive
  6. They’re certainly taking this seriosuly!! Screaming for a handball Proper test this, good one to get us ready for our PL opener…
  7. Is that Vazquez kid playing or in their squad? Young LB we were linked to.
  8. This is a great test for us, Valencia are proper up for it! Quality is perfect on Gol Play.
  9. Starting to wonder and get excited at the thought of what kind of player we’re bringing in if indeed we’re sending Aaron to Burnley to “make room” in more ways than one… It’s nice and even more assuring to read these sort of comments from the older and more knowledgeable supporters such as yourself… gives more faith and belief that we are on the right track… especially when you’ve seen so many of our ups and downs as a club…
  10. Can understand his emotion, but I hope he was joking and not serious about banning any more signings Aaron wouldn’t be leaving permanently anyway, unless he flattered to deceive… If he impresses, with the added bonus of getting significant game time and development in the PL (?!), we can bring him back home… I’d look at it as more of a loan than him being sent away… we won’t be able to give him the game time in this league that the likes of Burnley would offer… A similar sort of deal may be a good idea for someone like Archer too, if Unai doesn’t think he’s ready…
  11. I enjoy your positive posts Yeah, I think we’re finally acting like a “big club” again… And I really do believe that the solution, and what’s been lacking and regularly held us back in the past, is the appointment of a genuinely top class manager who excels in all areas including COACHING… Maybe there’s a point to debating over whether to invest more in a quality manager than on spending loads on players… even better if you can do both We’ve made many embarrassing appointments in the past… but we’ve also signed a lot of dross too This is one of the few times (imo) we’ve got it “right” and probably the “most right” ever Let the good times roll, all faith and trust in King Unai…
  12. Oh… yeah I get what you’re saying. It’s easy to target individuals for blame but it’s more involved than that… But I’m sure we have more credible people, with more nous and knowledge in this department, than before. And what gives me most confidence… is that it’s all led by Unai…
  13. Such an exciting time isn’t it? We’re already a stronger and better outfit… but that little bit of extra “stardust” would make us even stronger, properly formidable and dangerous and make the “big clubs” shit their pants I LOVE UNAI!!
  14. Tbf to him, he follows the youngsters closely and has a “passion” for that side of the game/club… so probably more of an emotional (possibly jokey) comment than a serious statement… Many of us fans have different views… for example, many would like us to build around and integrate our youth as soon as possible, others would prefer us to spend on high quality, maybe more established/senior players, and focus on that side more… and then there are many people in between…. It’s kind of funny how invested and emotional we all get about our club…. but it’s all good as long as we treat each other with respect rather than argue and shout at each other… Anyway, it’s good times now with Unai here… we should just sit back and relax really… and try to enjoy it for a change!
  15. I think that’s more opinion than fact… Dan knows a little but doesn’t have anywhere near as much insight as many may assume… Unai’s already commented on it in the preseason pressers, in US. We are active, players to be moved out and we’re monitoring things and ready to act on opportunities - more likely toward the end of August. We probably would be fairly satisfied or confident to go into the season as we are, but if there are good opportunities to further strengthen and add extra quality… we will act…
  16. Sorry, don’t quite understand what point/comment you’re specifically pointing to…? It’s hard to find “guarantees”… you’ve just got to try and set yourself up in the best possible way, be as “prepared” and have researched as much as possible in this context… No one can guarantee we won’t make another bad/failed signing but we should, hopefully, increase the probability or percentage of likelihood that we make successful and top quality signings… Purslow wasn’t solely or massively responsible for many signings, Suso and Lange have been given plenty of criticism too From what I’ve read in the past, Purslow did make some gaffes… such as going for Drinkwater when Suso wanted N’Zonzi… played a big part in the Barkley (initially looked a masterstroke but turned sour quickly and failed miserably really)… and, of course, was responsible for the clown we had in charge before the master we now have… but he also did a lot right… No one’s flawless (except maybe Unai ) but you’ve got to be diligent and work hard to make good decisions… not lean on your own ego or status but put the necessary graft and research in… Dunno if any of that made sense Sorry
  17. Queue another “great comment by me” when he becomes Burnley’s POTS
