  1. He saw Jedinak, got frightened and wanted home.
  2. I can't remember the last time I was so excited by a new Villa player as when I saw his debut against Crystal Palace. But having had four managers who have not selected him, I can just accept that he wont be the player a had hoped he would be. Besides that it must be disruptive for the team to have a teeanger not ready for the first to come in and be one of the highest earners at the club. 60' a week... that's just insane.
  3. A big thumbs up for Trippier, goopoo him! Spurs owe us one for the last right back they sold to us...
  4. Wonderful!! Enjoy listening to that on the radio!! Go McScoremac!!!
  5. I would be so pleased if we goopoo:ed Jedinak tomorrow! He is precisely the midfield general we need and it would be some good invested 4m£. I'm also really glad that we have moved on from the corporate thinking policy of buying young players with potential high sell on value and now actually focus on what the team needs. Come on - get it done!
  6. YES! I just love these Q&A:s. The one with Grant Holt a couple of years ago was the best so far, I have high hopes for this one!
  7. I had expected more of him, but I still think he did okay. I wouldn't say that he was worse than Westwood. Gardner at least tried to pass the ball forward a couple of times and not only sideways/backwards. Some of his longer passes just slipped away and were slightly overhit, but the intention was good and nearly created some good chances. He tracked back and was okay defensively and didn't make any of those freakish misstakes that our midfielders did last season. Since day one of this window I've wanted us to sign a proven central midfield general, and I think Gardner (or Tshibola) can be a good player next to him.
  8. I'm really pleased with Elphick. A positive note on Bacuna - he hasn't pulled someones arm in the penalty area to gift a penalty or played a freakish backpass to gift them a goal. Now time to unleash Grealish!!
  9. That's actually my point, if Xia owns 100% of the Recon Group, I have no problem with the statement that he owns Aston Villa. If he for example is the majority shareholder of the Recon Group though, I wouldn't feel as comfortable saying that he is the sole owner (in the same way as your business partner probably would like to claim that he/she also has an interest in your vans :-) ) I fully support Xia and I don't think there is anything fishy, I guess for me it comes down to if Xia owns the Recon Group to 100% or not. If he does, then I have no problem with the official site saying that Xia is the owner, although Recon formally is the owner.
  10. So is the Recon Group owned to 100% by Xia? Still, if it is the Recon Group that owns Aston Villa, the official homepage shouldn't say that Xia is "Owner and Chairman" should it? I'm not in to some conspiracy theory here :-) just interested in knowing if it is the person Xia or his company that owns us. For example, say that someone buys the majority shares of the Recon Group (if it's some kind of Ltd company) then that person/company would actually control Aston Villa and not Xia right. Likewise if there would be some kind of forced restructure.
  11. Sorry if this already has been discussed earlier in the thread, can't directly remember, but is Aston Villa owned by Tony Xia personally or by the Recon group? The club statement said that the club had been sold to the Recon Group, but the homepage says that Tony Xia is the owner.
  12. If you are approved and want another question, I'd honestly like to know if they see Klas Ingesson as their best ever midfielder.
  13. Hi all, I have supported Aston Villa since the season 1992/93. I was a frequent poster at the old mailing list (allthough I think there were a few of them). This is the first forum I have seen that is comparable to that. I have been lurking here for three years and I really appreciate the info and the humour here. Now when the Championship is approaching it's time to show support and to become a member here.
