  1. Maybe Glaston is trying to find Spurs missing top flight league titles - after all they've only won two!!! Or perhaps he's counting Spurs European Cup wins - shouldn't take him long that one!!! Or perhaps after being given a good pasting overall in the main 2 competitions the special one is adding together the peripheral competitions! Tottenham Hotspur - 47 years out of the top flight and 15 years out of 18 out of the top 7!!! What a colossus!
  2. Maybe he's trying to find Spurs top flight/European Cup winners or runners up in the last 45 years (he might be looking for a while if he is!!!)
  3. No surprise as they officially play more long balls than us  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1246912/Do-Aston-Villa-really-play-long-ball-game-Arsene.html
  4. So just to confirm in the biggest 2 competitions: League: Aston Villa 7 winners and 10 runners ups Tottenham 2 winners and 4 runners ups Aston Villa about 1300 more points overall on a consistent points methodology. Aston Villa more top 1, top 2, top 3, top 4, top 5 and top 6 than the tiny tots! Aston Villa 12 years out of the top flight, Tottenham 47 years! Aston Villa 79 years out of 121 as the higher ranked league team of the two (including 13 of the last 18 seasons!) European Cup: Aston Villa - winners Tottenham - never made a final! So well done tots in the peripheral competitions but in the big 2 overall we've blitzed you! We should mention Spurs 15 out the last 18 seasons out of the top 7 positions! Scrub all that Tottenham are massive, triffic and huge and it doesn't matter that they don't make a footnote of winners of the biggest domestic or european competition! http://www.epltalk.com/man-united-most-successful-club-english-history/2060
  5. Tottenham Hotspur 2 top flight league titles, no European Cup and almost half a century spent as a non top flight team! Absolutely blitzed in the main 2 competitions overall! Let's all hear it for the super tots with less top 1, top 2, top 3, top 4, top 5 and top 6 finishes!(although they do play more long passes than any other team!) If only we could finish in the top seven three times in the next 18 years like Spurs we'd be huge!!!
  6. No ... why would I? I don't usually have any great desire to slag off any manager. It's not as if W.Ham are really any great rival to Spurs, and in any case, Redknapp generally did well for them and boosted his reputation as a good manager. He helped to stabilise them and establish them in the Prem, and also helped bring through a number of young players from the club's academy, including Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Carrick and Lampard. He also took them to 5th place, which is a remarkable achievement for a club like W.Ham There was me thinking West Ham gained more league points than Spurs in the last 2 complete league seasons Very nice to hear you waffling on but you've still won 2 league titles (less than Huddersfield Town) and no European cup! We've blitzed you overall in the big 2. Well done on spending more years as a non top flight team than finishing above us as well. Really impressive stuff!
  7. For a team that has spent more years as a non top flight team than finishing above us they have "special" fans!
  8. Hoof to Crouch, hoof to Crouch and for a change hoof to Crouch!
  9. The amount of times the ball was hoofed to Crouchy was amazing! Spurs are fast becoming the new Wimbledon..
  10. I think we did quite well against Wimbledon Hotspur today! Hoof to Crouch, clear it! We didn't get out of 2nd gear as an attacking force but still scored the only legal goal across the 2 matches!
  11. Great to hear the views of a fan whose team have spent more years as a non top flight team than finishing above us! Let's hear it for the 2 league title and no european cup super tots!
  12. Tottenham Hotspur 2 league titles, no European Cup and about 47 years spent as a non top flight club. The super power of world football!
  13. 2-1 to Spurs but Harry still to be twitching after the game and Villa still to have finished above Spurs in over 70% of the premier league seasons (8 top six vs 2 top six as well!)
  14. Spurs have only finished in the top six two times in the entire premier league era as well! I guess that's what happens when you've conceded more premiership goals than any other club!!!
  15. My concern is this match is like a cup final to Spurs while we have ours at the end of the month! We tend to raise our game against the big clubs which is why I'm worried going to Spurs. They're only London's 4th top club based on the last complete season so hopefully motivation won't be a problem. Regardless of the result we'll still have won more top flight league titles than Huddersfield Town
  16. Hi General. The cheaper tickets worked a treat today with about 40k fans in attendance (biggest home attendance this weekend I think in the cup) That sensible approach from the club meant many fans who wouldn't have been able to afford it could see the team again. So well done Villa
  17. Whatever happens this season we will at least have spent two thirds of all the premiership seasons above the 2 league title tots!
  18. Just read a quote from O'Neill blaming tiredness towards the end!!! I thought that was why we had substitutes!!!!
  19. 3 games without a goal now not helped with Heskey playing! At least we probably won't be playing West Ham next season...
  20. This is normally the kind of game Villa bottle. 1-1 draw
  21. General, just in case you missed this question I'm posting it again. i'm really keen to get a half season ticket - can you confirm whether I can still get one and if not why not? (I know I've missed one of the home matches but that is fine) Cheers
  22. Hi General I was thinking about buying a half season ticket but it says they are not on sale? Please can you advise why I can't buy one? Cheers!
  23. Found this beauty! (sorry don't know how to do short links) http://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10308~1930560,00.html Attendance: 9,399 Away fans: 1,707 Therefore home fans: 7,692 Big Club then!
  24. Just seen the ticket prices for the Brighton game - very sensible and we'll get a better gate than the Blackburn FA Cup one. Well done Villa.
  25. I want our best keeper playing to give us the best chance of going through. As of now that is Friedel (penalty heroics aside!)
