I doubt we would offer the same (or more) wages as Newcastle - they just seem to throw money at players. Would love to see their wage bill! BUT It would be really funny to strengthen our defence by nicking Diame at the last minute after weakening theirs by selling them Clark..... or in fact, using the Clark money to buy Diame :-)

Agreed - 5 years???? Madness!!!!!! Given his tweet about Newcastle moving in the right direction, it would be hilarious if we got promoted and they didn't. Mind you that would be hilarious anyway! :-) Good luck Clark, you are going to need it.

So you have got to think that the quality of Newcastles team/squad has dropped/will drop vs last season (unless they have unearthed a couple of gems - although that link doesn't show anyone with that potential), whereas our could only go up (LOL - even if we sold all the players and fielded a team of kittens). It looks like (on the face of it) they are doing what we did last year with the Benteke and Snake money. 3-4 more decent signings and it could be a very good season.

How much have Newcastle spent? (Genuine question) I know they have done a lot of business but haven't really been paying attention to them.

Apologies, it wasn't specifically aimed at you, I was responding to the post not the person - It was in relation to the tweet from Murphy being put forward as evidence that we had failed in our attempts to sign someone "better". I has a moment of being sick of all the negativity (and even now there is still some) about what is a very good, positive signing for us. No offence intended directly at you sir.

its called sarcasm. People were saying that we either aren't trying to get, or aren't able to get the players that they think we want. All based on one tweet from Pat Murphy who has got this one wrong....... (Look at his tweets over the course of yesterday). Getting sick of people wetting themselves over the fact that we have only signed three players and calling Xia out as a fraud. Chill out and see how the rest of the window goes.
