  1. Aren't we aiming to be one of the top 3 clubs in the world within 10 years? He's only 24 so theoretically we would be a step up for him.
  2. How about Son Heung-min from Tottenham? Just read an article that Tottenham are ready to sell him. A quality player and exactly what we are looking for in midfield.
  3. No idea but I thought he was decent enough when he played. We could have used him at the end of 13/14 when we needed a similar player and he was sitting on the bench. I would have liked to see more of him.
  4. I think I vaguely recall that. In all seriousness though he wasn't given much of an opportunity here and neither was Sylla. I thought they were raw but was a bit disappointed we didn't persist with them especially Sylla.
  5. I wouldn't mind seeing the Tonev premier league highlights reel if you have one...
  6. Plenty of forward passes and examples of vision and creativity here. In a more proactive team he would show it more regularly and would look a much better player than he does for us.
  7. Westwood works harder, is more creative, a better link up player, better vision, more well rounded and has greater scope for improvement. Westwood is premier league quality. Huddlestone is championship quality.
  8. Westwood is a much better player than Huddlestone.
  9. Gil is a number 10 not a winger. He needs to be played in that position behind a pair of intelligent strikers and in front of a dynamic midfield who can supply him and you would see a different player. Traore has hardly been given an opportunity. His selfishness creates space for teammates and scoring opportunities. If it comes off only once every four or five attempts I would take that. I think you would see him sharing the ball more often when he settles in more with the right system and good players around him. If they are holding onto the ball too long it would be because of the lack of movement and options ahead of them. Our strikers last season were Gestede, an unfit Gabby and Sinclair and Ayew who aren't really strikers. Gil and Traore are anything but passengers. They are our most important players with a frightening amount of potential if we utilize them properly.
  10. Away kit is ugly. Home would be better without a collar. I like the look of some of the casual gear though.
  11. Never seen McCormack play but I like the youtube clips I've seen. I think he could adapt to the premier league if we got promoted. Seems to be carrying some weight though. Disappointed we are missing out on Gayle. He could be prolific under the right guidance. I'd take Murray but as back up only. Lambert and Bamford are not players I'd want if we were in the premier league so I'd rather we look elsewhere.
  12. I wanted Hoolahan as well. I was ecstatic when we signed GIl though and I still think he hasn't touched the surface with his potential. I'd like Mbokani and Klose from Norwich. Mbokani is exactly the kind of striker we need and Klose/Okore/Clark/Elphick would be a strong group of CB's to select from.
  13. Maybe in the minority but it isn't wrong. https://media.giphy.com/media/W7e5dfLapD7eE/giphy.gif I think his vision and offensive ability is highlighted in that video alone. Not to mention the many times he hit Benteke with crosses which a lot of the time came out of nowhere and led to important goals. I've seen him power past players when dashing forward from midfield which is partly why I think he could make a good CM. He showed what he can do defensively against Crystal Palace when he shut Zaha out of the game and was our best player in one of the few matches we won last season. If he showed that kind of form regularly he would be playing for Man City. He needs to improve his consistency and a few other areas but there is a lot to work with.
  14. Vision, pace, power, directness, versatility, solid defensively and offensively, our best free kick taker, our 2nd best cross. I'll be disappointed if he isn't starting at RB in the first game and want to see him tried again in CM next to Gana.
  15. I thought David Moyes ruled himself out of contention.
  16. Well I can't think of many keepers with bigger potential than Pantilimon let alone one that may consider joining a team just relegated. Hugely exciting prospect.
  17. I can't recall to be honest but I saw him many times at Sunderland and he was always solid. For someone his size he is exceptionally coordinated, quick and has good awareness. He is a monster and I really hope we can sign him.
  18. Pantilimon would be an incredible signing. Would lift my enthusiasm for the direction we are heading in immensely if it happened.
  19. Funny nobody would have said these things about Leicester 12 months ago before Ranieri took over. Now all of a sudden they have more ability in every position and at least 3 better strikers. So was it our players who lost their ability or theirs who suddenly acquired some? I went through rating the squads about 6 months ago but I will say they have no one with the potential of Gil and Traore. If we had a manager with even half a clue who utilised these two properly and had everyone working on the same page we would have been nowhere near relegation.
  20. Last season we had 4 of the worst managers you're likely to see managing in the premier league. The difference between them and Ranieri for example is the diference between relegation and top 4. I don't think Leicester has a significantly better squad than we do. Getting rid of these players is like cutting out a cancer that will grow back somewhere else. Finding a good manager should attack the cancer at the roots. Unless RDM is a significant upgrade which I doubt he is I don't see much changing too quickly with or without these players.
  21. Short memories. Yes he looks a shadow of that player now and has for about 12 months but you don't play the way he did then over that length of time if you don't have genuine ability.
  22. They look the same players to me now as they did then they just moved to an environment which allowed them to reach their potential. I knew all three would be success stories when they left. All of them were good enough for us at the time and if played regularly under a good manager they would have developed the same way at Villa.
  23. Time will tell I suppose. It did so with Davis, Cahill, Albrighton and countless others.
  24. Any money spent on replacing Guzan, Bacuna, Okore, Clark, Amavi, Hutton or Cissokho is money down the drain. These guys are good enough for promotion from the championship and survival in the premier league easily. Clark, Amavi, Bacuna and Okore have potential to go further.
