  1. I wouldn't either. Dougie is also a really likeable, humble person, Jack is too much all about the glitz and glam lifestyle for me.
  2. Does look a bit like that but the way he swings at it - I disagree
  3. Have had these thoughts myself and thought the same when he saw the FIFA card! I'm not sure to be honest. I remember when Steven was playing him CM though, he played one game VS City in a more advanced role and was so dangerous with his ball carrying.
  4. He was known for having poor decision making even in Serie A though. I do agree it's too early to judge still, especially when you're being coached by Unai.
  5. Yeah, I'm 50/50 on him at the moment. His lack of vision is really frustrating, at least going on what he's shown so far. Some lovely touches and tekkers on the positive side though.
  6. Yeah it was actually quite a poor followup strike from Diaby - will let him off given it was his weaker foot!
  7. "My favourite young person" makes it sound like he's ranking personalities rather than ability
  8. Amazing how being proactive works better than sticking rigidly to the original (and only) gameplan there is and sulking in your chair hoping things change (naming no names ).

    Recruitment

Never ceases to amaze me how so many on here have inside knowledge of how the club operates and who makes the calls etc. Impressive.
  10. So can't be that hard to move on then
  11. But my reply was to a post which was purely about on the ball abilities. Anyway, I think Pau will give more to us overall - hence why Emery signed him, and just because he's not 'all action' really doesn't mean he's bad at defending.
  12. Not at all for me - Mings became good on the ball, Pau is just another level though.

    Unai Emery

    Just twice? Unai be like...
  14. Name me a CB who won't lose duels against forwards. I remember Mings being done by Joelinton four times in one game at St James'. I think because Pau has a reputation of being a 'soft' defender people look for it a little more. Don't get me wrong he's no powerhouse CB like Mings, but boy is he quality. Him, Moreno, Diaby, Luiz and Kamara give us things we haven't had for years and years. Really exciting times.
  15. Just incredible. He does some things that Rodri can't do. He also takes so many good little touches that take the ball away from his opponent. He's become phenomenal at protecting the ball.
  16. Yeah...those two words no longer mean anything to me.
  17. He does. My fear is Real coming calling though. Luckily they're stacked in midfidld but he'd still add loads of quality. Fingers crossed we continue on the up and maybe even scrape a CL spot.
  18. Just a week or so ago people wanted to get rid (three smilies don't even do it justice)
  19. Fair play to Ollie for yesterday, great performance. But which 'goals' would they not have scored exactly? The first one is them all over. The third took a huge deflection. The second yeah fair play, they can't carry the ball in that manner (Kane a bit moreso than Haaland) but tbf Steele should have saved that one. Watch it back - he didn't strike it cleanly. Taking nothing away from him for that second though, the pace to get in behind and the sharp cutback across the defender was quality play.

    Ezri Konsa

Deano has to get huge credit for signing this guy and Dougie. Two colossal players for us now!
  21. Indeed. And tbf Luiz was amazing in DM post lockdown. Played a big part keeping us up.
