  1. I don't remember those, pretty much all of his passes have been safe ones. Pretty much all of anyone's passes are safe ones. If I didn't have bad short term memory I'd tell you the games and the minutes, but he can do it, trust me.
  2. My post was in response to DrP's "he hasn't shown anything". I'm not going into who he's better than, but he has made one or two really astonishing passes.
  3. Yes he has. He can spot and execute a through ball better than anyone else at the club.
  4. Dear Remi, welcome. First things first: The VT guide to how popular you can expect to be: If your Aston Villa team are: Top of the table: Well done, you are universally recognised as a god, even by Paul McGrath himself. 2nd: Whilst it's still understood that you're a god, one or two of the more argumentative posters appear to criticise you on VT with arguments that nobody understands. 3rd - 6th: Your name is sung at home and away games, however a good 10% of VT are now convinced that your methods are fundamentally flawed. 6th - 10th. VT is a battleground for armchair football managers with keyboard warrior tendencies. Most of us think you're okay. 10th - 16th. A few loyal defenders back you to the last, but Villa Park is a library and your VT supporters are losing the argument. You're on your way at this point. 16th - 20th You are a useless clown, end of. Good luck. May we live to construct a temple in order to worship you.
  5. Allardyce quoted as saying he's worried about Sunderland's defence after losing 6-2. Too bad we've gone and got this French fellow in, we could have used some of Big Sam's phenomenal powers of observation as well as his general phenomenalness.
  6. Errrr, no! Fox knows a little about football, Faulkner was an accountant. Tom Fox is an expert in marketing and sales, about as qualified as Faulkner on football knowledge but that's his job. Appointing his pal Almstadt as a sporting director was **** ridiculous as Almstadt isn't a football man either. Successful clubs like Milan, Madrid, Barcelona have proper football people in these roles not statiticians You clearly know Fox and Almstadt and their roles in detail. Care to share any other boardroom secrets? They don't really fancy each other any more but just get on with it because it's all they know. (Ohhhh. boardroom secrets.)
  7. And the two Spanish ones. I've changed my mind, he can play Traore, but not N'Zogbia. Jesus, you weren't including N'Zogbia were you? If so, please mentally subtract at least half of the "Like" I gave you, you irresponsible oaf. No, I wasn't, but when I thought about our French players, I realised that included N'Zogbia. I wholeheartedly apologise and promise to never mention it again. Although there is the slim chance that Garde will like N'Zogbia, he'll get another clean slate after all... It might not be a bad time for a manager to come in, Zog-wise. A late-contract burst of actual effort is needed from him if he has any ideas of conning another club into signing him on a salary.

  9. Eau reservoir a Remi Garde. (or, Welcome Remi Garde, for those who don't speak French as well as I do.)
  10. Good point. I think Tim probably needed Chris Ramsey alongside him to make it work this season but QPR chose to keep him as their manager despite their relegation. Would Garde without his own staff possibly be the same and would he want the job without them given it will be tough enough with all of them in place? Wenger seems to think he should come without his coaches. I tend to think if he was confident enough to do that he would have done so by now. The fact that he doesn't seem to be that confident doesn't bode well for me. Yeah and he also seems to have a slight tic in one eye which means he probably lacks managerial ability and tactical nous. We're doomed.
  11. But not paying for them will make us look like complete fools. Not as much as getting them for free in the middle of the season would make OL look like fools.
  12. They want to line up their pockets, I think.
  13. Yeah, I think he's worth having around, and definitely worth having a try giving the guy proper service before writing him off completely. But we do need a striker. Thinking about it, he scored a lot of goals with Rhodes as a strike partner afaik. We probably need to play him alongside a striker who's an actual threat, and I believe with the right service he could get a goal a game. If you can head the ball and are taller than everyone else you are a goal threat, surely Shirley?
  14. I think he has the talent to make a game his, with a bit more energy and confidence.
  15. I cried actual tears of laughter. Thank you.
  16. Perfect for Villa, we're Jocelyn to stay in the league. *gets coat*
  17. Surely it should be Jason Scotland... They're not the same person?
  18. If we get Justin Edbinurgh(sp?) can we still have Marcel Desailly as his assistant?
  19. What!?!?!? What?!?!?! WHAAAAT NOW???? I don't know either, but it isn't good, it's bad. Definitely bad.
  20. I seem to remember a similar backroom staff saga when we were all hanging on to get Lambert. The papers made a huge big deal about it all, but in the end it went through because Villa wanted it and so did the people concerned. Can't see any of this being a showstopper.
