It would stop him scoring against us if nothing else.Kevin Nolan?
It's fine, I'll see myself out...

Amy Willams just got married! I've definitely got no chance now
I was in a gym once while Amy was there, bent over In front of me. It was one for the bank later

How do we think tickets will get distributed?
Will they go on sale to those who've attended tonight, or season ticket holders in general?
I doubt there will be much of a criteria other than booking history.

Only just noticed the draw. As much as I'd like them to rot and disappear completely, I can't help love the derby. Not always come the end, but the build up tension and atmosphere come match day is a great experience.
Not living local this time the build up will be a bit different for me but will make the effort to get to the game if I can work it around work.

What a fantastic player he is. Still wish he'd try and score more often though.
It'll come i think, as he progresses

There will be a cooling off period won't there so you could cancel? Or is that just mobiles?I've read it. Unfortunately I read it after I signed up to the new deal from Sky. As it ties me in for 12 months I'm a bit limited.
Which is why I'll use the fact that they're not giving me what I paid for as a reason to leave

Really looking forward to seeing British Sea Power in a couple of weeks. They are playing an (extremely) low key gig at one of my local venues, The Scary Canary in Stourbridge.
It's by far the biggest gig the Canary has ever put on and i'm absolutely chuffed to bits for the owners. Not only are they great people but the venue itself has been a godsend on the local musical front for a while now. They have bands on every week (absolutely NO cover bands allowed) and cinema/poetry evenings on other nights. It's a nice little cultural haven and with Bathams behind the bar i'm in heaven.
Can't wait to see it packed to the rafters
British Sea Power love their random venues. I once saw them in a cave.

They best not activate the buy back just because we are drawn together in the Champions league in 2 years time

Good work on the hynotoad gifs folks.
Any chance a photoshop/gimp/ms paint whizz could do a hypnotoad Sherwood hybrid? I think we'll get a good insight to what it's like when players meet him for a friendly chat.
Nope, but here's a representation of how it anyone under his powerful gaze would look like instead:
That's how Tim gets the new players to "prepare him" for the facial.
I now have an image stuck in my head of Sherwood hypnotising players by doing the helicopter in a dark room with a glow in the dark condom on.

Think the invites stopped a few seasons ago. Just need to be a season ticket holder now.

Expect a double announcement tommorow all I'm saying
My mate said this, this afternoon when he said Adama was pretty done and dusted, couldn't decide whether he was having me on or not.

I think people just go to extremes with him and i've probably been guilty of that at times. The really negative comments bring out the really positive comments and vice versa. He finished the season well, has shown he can play well at this level and currently deserves his spot in the team. I think it's still up in the air if he's capable of being a regular in our current revolution but i'm happy to see and give him the chance.
I'd say that's pretty accurate.
Most of my ramblings are in response to what I feel is OTT praise.
I've took the piss out of you a couple of times, but to be fair it is correct. The Westwood thread is probably one of my least favourite, because of the bickering between those for and against what Westwood offers. It is like a stuck record from both points of view. In reality it's people arguing with each other rather than about the original point.
I see Westwood as a positive in the team let alone the squad and can also see others views, it doesn't mean I feel I need to keep repetitively putting across my point of view.

Confident this will be confirmed tomorrow.
Next please!

He's matured into a proper premier league central midfielder, I'd say that he's good enough to be the squad of any of the teams who finished 7th onwards last season, perhaps not a starter for all of them but at least being good enough to contribute his fair share of games.
What can you say, he cost what? £900k? Excellent value for money.
James Nursey and Woodytom do not like this

We need to sign Marten Hansen from Den Haag, purely on the basis of the goal he has scored today.

Not wanting to start a Grealish debate but Clark could quite easily be classed as English. In a nationality sense rather than in a footballing way. That would be our local paper giving one of our longest serving players the wrong nationality... Idiots
I think he is talking about Gabby.
Oops, I looked at the ones there in case I was making a mistake. I didn't even think of anyone not there.

Not wanting to start a Grealish debate but Clark could quite easily be classed as English. In a nationality sense rather than in a footballing way.One simple part of that Birmingham Mail article tells me that it's mostly horseshit
That would be our local paper giving one of our longest serving players the wrong nationality... IdiotsThe English players to start were captain Micah Richards, Ciaran Clark, Ashley Westwood and Scott Sinclair.

That looks like someone has just made it up, though it is The Daily Mail

He's no Nicky Shorey
But few can rival one of the most technically gifted footballers there is.

Not a brilliant game, but good to see him sticking to defensive duties and doing generally well after we took the lead. Still not convinced about him as first choice RB, though.
With everyone fit, I think we've got a potentially pretty solid defence with right back being the one I would look at strengthening before the deadline, though I would like a CB to add depth to the squad. That said I don't mind Bacuna and as it stands I think he should be our first choice RB. I'd like us to improve on him, though I've said it before but right back is his only effective position. Playing further up field he is completely nullified, as it is attacking from RB that gives him space to make an impact, he just doesn't get that space and can't work it for himself in a more attacking position.
If he is RB throughout the season then at least he is likely to create at a least as many goals as he could give away.

Not looked in this thread for a while and Just watched that Sherwood interview and saw Richards has been named as captain.
Positively, attribute wise, I think he could be a really good captain, physically imposing, and talks a lot on the pitch.
The big negative would be that his main criticism is he has moment at lapses in concentration and ideally he needs to focus on his own game.
Hopefully the honour of being captain of Aston Villa will help him become a rock at the back.

Hmmm wasn't Sherwood rumoured to have gone to Barcelona last week?Spanish paper saying we have beaten Liverpool, Stoke and West Ham to the signing of Adama.

That's the joke ☺
We got £32.5 million for Benteke. If they are paying stage payments then it stands to reason that we are doing the same with our new signings.
I'm not sure we've got any more money to spend anyway. Liverpool only paid & £16m upfront for Benteke, we've easily spent that already. Are we allowed to loan him, I know we had issues with januzaj last season. Not sure what everyone else thinks but I'd take a loan
Lerner always throws in £15-£20 million each summer for transfers. Not sure if he will do so this time but I'm sure there is cash if we really need to spend more.
We are about even in our spending thus far-Another 2 plus Adebayor on loan would be the icing on the cake for me.
Well it wasn't meant to be.
Maybe last summer we didn't quite spend that but remember the Cleverley deal fell apart at the 11th hour. If that signing had gone through, it would have taken the spend over the £15mil mark.
Just to confirm I was joking. The £16m upfront being this summers repetitive stupid comment. As I have needed to explain I have realised I must do better

Surely putting the ball in low is just being sensible because of the speed he is often travelling at. It's a lot harder to hit in a pin point cross at that speed, playing the percentages a bad low cross is going to cause more problems than a bad one put in the air.
We do however need to make sure we've got players busting a gut to be getting to that near post and of course it's no good just doing low crosses but it seems like the right thing to do for me.
