  1. After reading those tweets id categorically say that twitter account is absolute horseshit.

Yes fake by the looks of it. No teammates follow him which is a pretty strong indicator, well unless no one likes him and he is definitely off of course.

  2. One think I don't understand is say if we don't get sold and look for a new chairman. What exactly will this new chairman be doing that Fox isn't doing already?

I'd say it's more just for those fans that moan Lerner doesn't attend games. They'd have someone to moan at if things don't go well. May aswell give it Doug!!
Is there any football Chairmen that don't own at least some share (usually majority) of the club they run?

Unless it means Lerner will accept some investment if he can't sell this time around, the plan B of getting a chairman in does seem like a strange one.

  3. AVFCTransfertweet (I know he's had a bad rep in the past, but doesn't seem to post as much rubbish these days) is saying that there's going to a meeting at Villa Park on Wednesday headed by Fox and Wijeratna.

It seems this has all come from a random guy on twitter who's mate works at the villa and they've just run with it. Not reading too much into it.

Apparently this meeting has been confirmed by Mat Kendrick via his twitteer. That doesn't have mean it has anything to do with a takeover though I guess.

Wasn't it pretty much a year ago Lambert and Faulkner flew over to the U.S for talks. It could well just be a routine pre season/end of season meeting.

  4. People that press the button when they get to a pedestrian crossing, whether there are any cars or not.

Is it because you're intolerant of visually impaired people?

Of course not, isn't this thread called things that piss you off that shouldn't!?

I also don't have a problem with people with young children that do it.

I'm speaking as a pedestrian as well, as I don't have a car and rarely drive at the moment.

It obviously isn't possible to distinguish whether people are visually impaired but It is quite likely that the majority of people that do it aren't. Unless of course you go by Useless' law then it's 50/50.

  5. or investors from North Korea

Now we're talking, If these investors aren't successful Kim Jong-Un will execute them for the shame they have brought the country, repeat the process till we dominate.

  6. If Benteke and Delph are still contracted to us how are we spending money from there departures?

See Spurs before they sold Bale.
    Bale compared to Benteke?

one of the biggest clubs in world..champions league every season.Ronaldo Benzema etc... compared to current plop?

Real was guarenteed to sign Bale and are not scared to spend ridiculous money on players

I doubt for one second they would tell Sherwood go and spend 30 mill on the basis that the papers keep saying liverpool want Benteke so there 100% gonna bid?

Seems a pretty strange argument, there is a massive possibility that Villa know Benteke might not be here come the start of the season, who ever he goes to(if he does). Whether it is the case that we a spending first knowing it is likely, remains to be seen, I'm ever the optimist and hope he's staying.

And for the bollocks about believing the papers, of course that's not what they do, they go by the truth which none of us know much of.

  7. Its football and Villa so nothing surprises you but that seems like the biggest load of bollocks I've seen. I could sort of see that sort of deal where Delph decided to show somewhat loyalty (if that's what you call it) & didn't want Villa to lose out getting nothing for him, but £10m, really?

That said its a pretty random thing to make up.

  8. Had an interview, presentation and exercise today, not feeling confident at all. I'm terrible at judging how interviews have gone (and terrible at interviews in general)but the women that I was hoping wasn't in the panel, was. There are certain areas where I do lack experience for the role but others where I bet I know a hell of a lot more than other candidates. I just feel that she is going to favour experience in the other areas.

Fingers crossed I'm wrong, but if not they'll be getting a lot of shit from me as It needs someone to sort things out so any problems I get as a result of that department they'll be hearing from me rather than me just sorting it out as I do now.

How did you prepare for the interview and presentation? Do you feel you gave it sufficient time and effort? If so, forget about it for now, wait to hear the result, you've give it everything you can, if you didn't get it ask for feedback and learn for next time [emoji106]

Just realised how bitter I sounded in that, which I didn't actually mean. It's just that department make so many mistakes currently & previously that it causes me issues. If it's not me hopefully the new person will get on top of it and after giving them a bit of time I will be let them know every mistake, hopefully I don't need to.

I was a bit under prepared if I'm honest but I worked 60 hours last week and was pretty drained at the end of each shift so it was really bad timing.

I'll be disappointed if I don't get it but not the end of the world. Just need to step up my job hunt again as I haven't been looking for the last 3 months or so because I knew about this role.

  10. People who wear jogging bottoms / tracksuits as part of the their normal everyday wear

I don't mind when women with great asses wear tight jogging bottoms.

I work at quite a sporty university, I spend a fair chunk of my day staring at some pretty nice asses in leggings. I'm not enjoying my job at the moment but it has its good points :D

  11. There's no way Richards is coming to play as a cb in a 4-4-2. I think he will be a very good rb for us and probably would be decent in a back 3 but I have doubts that's what Sherwood will switch to.

Even if it's true about being after Trippier?

While he looks a pretty decent right back, I'm not sure he has that extra attacking intent ideally needed for a RWB (not seen loads of him to be fair)

While I mentioned earlier in the thread Richards should never have tried for CB so early in his career while he was being very effective for club and country at RB, going purely by speculation it looks like CB is possible and also not with a back 3.

  12. If it happens Richards is going to be one of those hit or miss signings, which I do think you need from time to time, In the hope that it works out.

I do echo everyone else in that I would want him at RB. Obviously injuries have played a part but his and the media's urge for him to play CB too early in his career always seemed to be a crazy idea with his ability he showed when he burst into the scene at RB

  13. With my interview on Monday, anyone got any tips about questions to ask the interview panel. Occasionally I have genuine things I want to know but usually struggle and end up asking some generic questions which I just think are pretty weak. With my interview being at where I work although a quite a lot different to what I currently do, it narrows what I need to/can ask.

Any tips? whether it's from interviewers or interviewees.

  14. I've been meaning to post this the 22,457 other times FFP has come up in this forum, but have only got round to doing so now.

Was there initially a rule that allowed the owner to sink as much money into a club as he liked as long as that money was never taken back out of the club, effectively resulting in a personal loss for said owner? I swear that I read that when FFP was in the works, did I just make it up?

Edit: I'm sure it was worded to say that an owner can gift an amount of cash to the club, which can then use said cash as they see fit.

There is something like that but I think there is only a certain amount that can be done. We've probably done it already with Lerner when he wrote of some of the loan Villa owed him which were turned into equity.

  15. I've got an interview on Monday for a different role where I work. Took a risk not applying for a role that I was more likely to get because I knew this one was going to be available in the near future, so fingers crossed I made the right decision.

I'm not particular great at interviews anyway but will have to do a 10min presentation as well plus another exercise. Getting hammered with work at the moment so will only really have Sunday & maybe some of Saturday to prepare for it all so not ideal.

  16. I'm convinced the new owners are human

I'll be disappointed if the are, sod China the rest of the universe is the untapped market needed for the intergalactic space cash that will help us over come FFP
