The ballot I was meant to be in is looking doubtful. My mate keeps getting fobbed off when he enquires about it, which both to him and me sounds fishy and that it looks like the tickets are going to end up going to someone and not being balloted. So it is looking less and less likely I'll be going

Sherwood said last week he was carrying in an injury. On that basis he should have started Senderos.
Yeah but we know Okore isn't slow usually so it indicates, as you said, either a knock or being fatigued.
He was running like Richard Dunne after 10 pints to be fair to him.
Okore, slow?slow, way too slow to play with another slow cb
Whether he was carrying a knock, or fatigued, I don't know.
We don't know if Senderos is 100% fit either

I've just realised it was a great move by Tim. He knew Hull would lose today so fixed it so we get battered. If we finished on a massive high, Lerner or 'someone else' might think that the players we've got are good enough. Now he's put some doubt in there, to bump the transfer money up.
GENIUS!

COYS!

Nearly said it on Twitter but couldn't bring myself to do it.

I'd mine done with my hammy. I can barely walk.
Wasn't it ACL? There is very little impact on pace even if they take a graft from hamstring, which I don't think they do for professional footballers.Today has made me realise one thing - Okore's pace is shot since his injury
But I'm guessing Okore did a bit more physiotherapy and conditioning post op than I did.
I've done mine as well, with hamstring graft and had issues building quad muscle back up but fine now and you say they have much better rehabilitation and I think footballers have artificial ligaments instead of grafts now (could be wrong though)

Bit of pride needed, win the second half at least.

Wow. I know people are looking for a scapegoat but jesus. It took 41 minutes to actually see N'Zogbia or hear his name. We've been defensively awful but it really looked like we only had 10 men.
What's wrong with that? I'm not blaming him individually for the goals or even our performance as such and haven't ever that I remember criticised N'Zogbia on here but that first half he might have well not have even been on the pitch.

I'm considering going to the clay oven. I think this weekend I'll find out whether I have managed to get a couple of tickets through the 'football family' so waiting till I make any plans.
Anybody watching the match somewhere in Bath/Bristol? as ater London or Birmingham that is my third option?

Is it a smokers cancer?
I don't know anything about it, but throat cancer seems more prevalent in smokers I guess.
I imagine smoking does increase chances (not sure either) but my Dad died at 32 and was a pretty fit & healthy non smoker. I'm now just older than he was which felt a bit weird to think about as I reached the same age.

I love Nandos. Not really for the food, which is alright, but because you pay before you eat.
I'd love it if all places were like that. There's nothing worse than sitting there, stuffed, waiting for a waiter to walk past so you can ask for the bill, then waiting for the bill to come, then waiting for the card machine to be brought over if you don't have cash.
I've been for meals where I've really enjoyed it up until that point, but then been sat there for 30-45 minutes at the end getting sick of the place.
I'm sure some places leave you sat there to make the place look busier.
I actually don't go to Nando's very often for the complete opposite reason, Fast food and pubs excluded if i want a meal in a restaurant, I want them to do all the work, I'm not standing in a queue to order my food!

A good mate of mine of 40 plus years' standing has oesophagal cancer. They've hammered it with chemo, and reckoned there was a good chance of success with surgery. He went in for that yesterday - and they discovered the cancer had spread to his stomach, and called it off. Dunno how he and his missus are coping, but I feel proper down right now. As we seem to keep saying on here, **** ing cancer.
My Dad died before my first birthday from oesophagal cancer, its a bastard because it can be too late before you start showing symptoms and by which time it has already had chance to spread.

The other thing I'd question, you say you were sent pictures by mail, was this post or email?
If it was post my concern would be he's preventing any chance of being traced.

Then we forego the domestic cups and it all balances out
It doesn't really work like that does it though? It's not so much just the extra games, it's the Thursday-sunday games which are the main impact on league form.
I'm in favour of giving the Europa a go but purely because I love away trips abroad.

I'm getting the official half & half scarf, foam FA cup and can't decide between the claret and blue wig or jester hat

Next season was thinking if we keep Vlaar maybe a 5-3-2 could work
new gk
Okore Vlaar Clark
Bacuna new left wing back
Westwood Delph Cleverley
Grealish
Benteke
It'd be something to consider when a more cautious approach may be required. They are a very balanced back 3 and all of them comfortable bringing the ball out of defence when there is an opportunity which is important in that formation.

Ice cold carton of Um Bongo. Lovely
I had a big carton of it the other week, first time in about 25years.

if they have to borrow money to buy us then what is all this talk about Inter and Sporting ? ! do they have money or not ?
We are gong to rule Europe, with Inter and Sporting to be our feeder clubs followed by Dortmund, Lyon and Feyenoord
-
With rumours of being in the process of due diligence, would that not need assurances that the money was in place?
My business knowledge is non existent really but some information looked at in the process must be quite sensitive and you'd want plenty of assurances before getting to that stage.

Yes it does. The new manager bounce doesn't exist. It's statistically proven to be negligible at most
But it's a reversion to the mean as opposed to the effect of a new manager.
So if a team is underperforming, the "new manager bounce" is merely an effect of the team not underperforming under the old manager.
Which basically means you can't just bring in 15 managers spread throughout the season and harness the bounce to win you the league Because your team will just perform as they should perform.
However, with that being said, Sherwood has gone beyond that bounce now. He's got us performing better than that imo.
Not seen the stats but guessing they only really show that getting a new manager towards the tail end of doesn't always work and maybe even works less than it succeeds, but it's obviously the case numerous times where it has had an affect.
As Stevo says under performing is a massive factor. Say Burnley sacked Dyche and Sherwood or someone else went in, I imagine the bounce is less likely to happen/be successful because they are possibly overall playing to their full potential.
We all know watching Villa had been so frustrating because we knew individually we've got good players who weren't performing individually or as a team for whatever reasons.

I had a Mustang for a few days in Miami last year, was never able to put the roof down at all. Luckily it wasn't the whole trip that was a wash out.
