  1. Relegation/Survival Once the season is over, how will everybody feel? "I told you so" is irrellevant either way. BUT 1 - We go down under Lambert. 2 - Stay up under Lambert 3 - Lambert sacked, still go down 4 - Lambert sacked, stay up. its a 50/50 if he goes/stays of the 50/50 its 50/50 up or down my moneys on 4 then 3 then 1 then 2
  2. Look, another fan who knows what the starting XI should be. And yet, our buffoon of a manager can't see it. Facepalm. Bit of an odd comments given that Lambert is clearly working towards that formation and lineup, imo. I'd be surprised if that wasn't the starting lineup vs Hull (I'm excusing Chelsea because we may go more defensive for that) ....but the problem is Lambert will want to play Gabby or Andy (out of position) & Cleverley (he's so useless I dont know what his position is)
  3. Classy Although probably said in jest, The Surgery needed is on AVFC. The Manager being the one in need of removal.
  4. 2 choices Give him untill he relegates us? or Give someone else a chance? Please can someone explain to me how its all of a sudden going to get better, when, whatever Lambert has tried, hasn't worked yet.
  5. I agree with you 100%. However, Fox will be in the position to be able to suitably support Lambert by: - Making funds available for wage increases or loan signings - Making provision for new player transfers - Providing necessary training ground support (not the least of which is a suitable assistant manager!) This will tie in with how well he can generate revenue (beyond TV money). I think this is what he is alluding to. Remember that our last Summer window we spent sweet bugger all - and that was before he joined. If this transfer window is anything to go by, it's already an improvement over what we had back then. Once we're relegated and the above is no longer applicable. What is Plan B?
  6. Briely mention Lambert - relegation - hard sell New manager - possible survival - easier sell
  7. Harry Redknapp has resigned. I wonder how many names will come out of the woodwork now for the QPR job? Worth hijacking this situation. AV or QPR AV = Doomed. Squad with a chance of survival QPR = Doomed. Squad with no chance of survival
  8. I just feel so numb. It's like my senses have all died.

  11. So Palace & Albion change their managers and what do you know? after a few games they are both above us. Forget the magic of the cup. next up for us, Chelsea & Arsenal. No goals and no points there then. Forget the goals, the good defence, the negative records, new signings, all the pluses & minuses. Fact is Lambert has proved he cant do the job of managing this club. When Lerner doesnt have the balls to sack him because he dont know who to replace him, then ask even Doug to find a manager if he cant be bothered. Doug would love the boast of "I saved the Club from going down" he'd probably do it for free. Our ONLY hope is that 3 of Burnley, Sunderland, Leicester, QPR & Hull are worse than us.
  12. So at the moment they are, what?? The writings on the wall Things are really bad But next season it'll be worse when we are in the championship. The vultures will circle and Premier League teams will be in for Guzan Okore Sanchez Gill Benteke (Vlaar & Delph off anyway) We'll be left with Lambert as manager (why sack him with his promotion record? Lerner will say) and Gabby as Captain. That would simply be NOT FUNNY
  13. The 2-0 loss against Liverpool was the first time we lost by more than 1 goal in 14 games(since Qpr away). We have had plenty of decent chances in a number of them games and if our strikers could of taken some of them we would of picked up points. We should have lost 5 - 0 to Leicester B team the scoreline flattered us Should have and did are totally different. One is fact one isn't. We haven't lost by more than one goal since qpr is fact and has happened. Should have lost 5-0 is not fact just saying. Seems any positive there always has to be a negative slant to it. Just my opinion anyway I agree, 'if' and 'did' are also 2 different things and the 'if' word keeps popping up in posts to try to provide a defence for Lambert e.g. 'if our strikers had put away their chances'. If my auntie had b******s she would be my uncle. .....and IF Lambert had some balls he'd drop Gaby, Cleverley and go for goals
  14. Great to see Fox saying it how it is. It's obvious Lambert has been denied signing his first choice targets and probably has had to resort to signing his 3rd or 4th choice targets. If he was properly backed then I believe we would have a beast team. His hands have been tied throughout his time here and most of his big signings have been crippled with injuries. He is slowly getting a decent team together now, we just need to get Gabby out of the starting 11 and hopefully replace cleverly ASAP. 2 sackable reasons right there
  15. The lack of goals is ****ing sickening. It's ultimately why we watch football. But it's a bit annoying when people (not you afaik) see someone defending the manager and assume that they therefore don't care or haven't noticed it. And some posters seem to think that Lambert hasn't noticed it either. To be honest, I'm starting to think he hasnt
  16. If the bolded was the case there would be some hope of having something to work with either concede less or score more to simply NOT SCORE ANY GOALS means only a draw is possible as the best achievable result. as soon as we concede its game over
  17. I disagree - every now and again these smaller clubs throw up a good side - some manage to ride the wave longer than others.....lets see where swansea are in 5 years imagine if someone would have asked you in MONs last season. lets see where Villa are in 5 years next season you will be able to say The Championship
  18. Slightly off-topic but do Brummies consider themselves northern? I'm from the South and I always prefer to say that Villa are a Midlands clubs rather than northern. I was born in Selly Oak but left at eighteen to go to uni in London and lived here ever since. I find most southerners consider us Brummies to come from the north. Anything north of the hatfield tunnel is considered the north to most of them. I consider myself from the Midlands. But I don't get your point. London is still the saaarf regardless. When you look a map of Britain, London is where that crack appears at the right hand side bit that looks like an A**e where all the S**t comes out London - sort of middle right south Brum - Middle but slightly off center
  19. There may be 3 worst teams, but there's no worst manager and thats the biggest problem. Best post of the day
  20. I'm still backing him. I don't think he's the man to take us forward and I'd be pleased to see him replaced. But I still back him. I'd RATHER he turned it round than we replaced him. I just don't think he will turn it round. I think most would be like this but as you acknowledge he's not the man to take us forward. If I back a horse in a race its because i believe it could win. I don't think there's any chance of Lambert turning it around so I can't back him to do it. But you carry on backing that horse until the race is over. Even when its clear to see that the horse (Lambert) has no chance?
  21. ................Championship, preferably not taking us with him
