How many takeover rumours have come from that site?
A few months back the same sort of rumours surfaced from that site. That's what made it popular.

He genuinely believes what he's been told by a person he trusts! Why shouldn't he share the info? We're all Villa fans and if it turns out to be true then it could be good news for us. If it turns out to be incorrect then there's no harm done. It's what we do on forums …. share gossip, info and opinions. When this doesn't materialise the poster on TBAR apologies and blames incorrect information given to him blah blah and then never posts under that name again.
Saying he would shoot himself is a bit dramatic though.
Just feels like we been here before.

He's on just over that
Really. I never realised our wage cap ever went that high.

To be fair, our lot would be spouting the same crap on here had we signed him.I've given up debating with them on facebook. Apparently Long is a world class striker who will score 20+ goals, was bought as a runner and the experience will benefit southampton.
Odd bunch.
Not really. If we got him for 5M we'd be over the moon. If we paid 12M we'd be furious!

Nah i dont get that. Surely your interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you to see if you can see yourself working for them. Every interview ive ever had ive mentioned salary to confirm it is what I believe so im not wasting my time. I then try and negotiate on the 2nd interview.
You should never talk about salary in a interview unless asked. But surely you should know the salary range of the job you are applying for?
But surely bringing up salary is something you should always ask in an interview??And another thing: I went for two interviews recently, but they were spread out over three weeks, and then a week after that, I found out I'd got the job. Then there was another few days of faff until I could finally get hold of the HR person dealing with the role. I finally got to have a chat about salary and it was at this point that I found it I'd have to take a pay cut compared to my current role.
The HR woman said there was no room for negotiation, so I rejected the job.
They could have had this chat with me at the start and not wasted mine and their time. words removed.
I suppose if you're shit hot you can ask what you want. I've never brought it up but the interviewer normally has so never been an issue.

I'm happy about this signing but not really excited. Sorry to be a killjoy but I think we are getting ahead of ourselves. Let's see him play a few games first.

When I was in Wolverhampton the Bus didn't give change, why not? plus I had to give the money to a robot thing and the driver was behind some sort of bullet proof glass thing. Wolverhampton isn't that dangerous is it.
Edit: It was the part about the bus not giving out change that I didn't like seems like a way of robbing people. On the whole I actually quite like catching the bus as long as their aren't too many people on it.
Where are you from mate? Every West Midlands travel bus is this way and has been for years.

Vive La Villa you were playing away? You dirty dog.
Worst thing is I didn't get chance to!

I wonder who we beat for his signature.
Goes to show there are quality Internationals out there that are so desperate for a pay rise and to play in this league they would even join us.
I suppose got to see how good he is first but first bit of good news this summer.
-
Me too.
His record throughout his career shows he's a top finisher. He's not that great a finisher. He's missed more than his fair share of sitters.
Think I'd agree to disagree on this one. His strength is being in the right place at the right time which I'm sure his stats are very good for. Once he has found his opportunity, I think he is somewhat profligate. Not sure how you'd define a stat based on sitters missed though as it's a bit subjective but if such a stat did exist, my feeling is that his stats for converting clear cut chances would not be anywhere near as high as his stat for creating clear cut chances for himself.
What a very strange way to look at it. A goal scoring record is based on what it says - goals scored.
I think it's spot on - he's no better a finisher than Gabby, but he'd got really good instinctive movement in the box - he'd find pockets of space and he'd anticipate things very well - but his finishing isn't special in my opinion - his ability to sniff out a chance and be in the right place was what made him a useful player.
And score goals - hence his goal scoring record.
Which doesn't necessarily mean he's a top finisher, or even a great one. But the goals count, of course. The thing is I think he's lost his drive to egt into those scoring positions and just walk around on the pitch without any real interest. I believe he's finished.
Not just finished, but stealing £4m a year.
I doubt he is on that much.
-
Really? Since when has he done that in the top flight? Never is the answer.
And for the same amount we paid for Bent. It's all relative. The keeper could turn out to be one of the best in the league and Long could easily bang in 15-20 goals every season. They are having to pay over the odds for their targets because everybody knows they have got money to spend. They've made some odd signings, £22m on both Long and Forster represents terrible value for money. They really should be using the money more astutely, rather than blowing it on barely top half quality players.
For about the same amount we got Benteke, Kozak, Vlaar, Cissokho and potentially Sanchez. Mental.
But it also shows the club is backing the manager to sign the players he wants.
Fair enough but he does work hard and contribute a lot to a team. I really like him and even though me not be worth 12M he is still a good addition to their squad.

Southampton will be in the mix for relegation. I'll have a bet with you if you fancy it. They'll be within 7 points of the drop.I think Southampton represent a clear step up myself. They remain a team that will be aiming to finish in the top-half whereas we will continue to be content with just staying up. My opinion of Vlaar wouldn't be affected in the slighest if he did want to move to them.
Happy to have a charity bet that they finish above us.

I don't, and I'm not talking about Facebook, corporate or government agencies.
My girlfriend goes through my phone and messages, whether I'm there or not.
It doesn't bother me. I suppose she does it for peace of mind. Some of my best friends are girls and I'll often stay with them over weekends when she's working.
She might be stepping up surveillance though.
The GFs best friend has just rumbled her cheating husband, barely 15 months after getting married.
Suspicion was aroused by him suddenly not leaving his phone about. When he finally did, during a trip to the bog, she investigated and the lies unraveled.
So, do your other halves investigate what you're up to? Are they open about it, or do you just suspect that they do?
Nearly cost me my marriage. Safe to say I use my phone for nothing now.

The money has gone to their heads. Feel sorry for the fans. After selling such key players, seeing Long arrive for that price is deflating.
We're not in a place to feel sorry for anybody's fans.

Maybe I haven't seen the full interview. All I see is how much he has always rated Vlaar and how he would love him at Southampton. He was asked the question and he answered it.
Honesty? Give me a break. Nothing but delusion and disrespect in those comments.
I don't see the problem with his comments. Actually find his honesty quite refreshing.I am still actually laughing at Koeman's comments, I have seriously never seen a manager this arrogant or stupid. Surely it is fake? He is even taking credit for Vlaar's development with us. Ronald get your head firmly out of your arse bud.
-
In some ways I admire Lambert for sticking around but on the other hand I think he probably knows he isn't going to get a similar paid job elsewhere and it's very unlikely Lerner would ever sack him.
He has thick skin though because boy is he going to get some stick this season justified or not.

I was one of them that thought Man United would come in for him. They still may do.
I don't think we would let him leave on a free. It's most likely sign a new contract or leave.
Dunno so much - If he leaves at the end of next season - we say loose out on an £8m fee - but relegation would cost us around £50-70m -
Yeah we know that but this is Villa we are talking about. I'm basing my theory on the way things have been done in the past. It rarely makes sense.

Man U fans are so deluded. They honestly believe all the problems last season were down to Moyes and nothing to do with the fact the team is shit.
Boy has LVG got a job on his hands.
