  1. First thing in the morning before breakfast is a long touted "ideal" for fat burning. But I'm not sure there's ever been a study to back it up.

First thing in the morning isn't ideal for all cardio, just low intensity AFAIK. I think the opposite is ideal for HIT. Eating before high intensity work results in considerably higher EPOC.

The only negatives with HIT are that it's hard work and it takes more time to recover from. The second one doesn't really matter if you don't do 10+ hrs/wk of mildly intense excercise and the first one doesn't matter if you're not a lazy bastard like me.

    EPOC?

I thought HIT on an empty stomach uses fat scores for energy?

  2. Love a bit of advice. As I've mentioned before I had a new DMF and clutch put in to my Astra tdi 1.9

Now the engine as a diesel has always sounded like a tractor when idle but now sounds like shit when I drive it as well. The car still has decent power but really does sound like shit.

Any idea what it could be and how it could be linked to the job done? Or maybe I'm just paranoid and they all sound like shit but it's never bothered me before. Now I hate driving it.

  3. Guys I know I've had some jokes on here and been a bit of a prat too but all jokes aside this subject is getting to me more than I could have thought. I've always been tolerant while holding some views that many others here will as well but not I find myself actually scared for my own and my families life. I'm a tully slightly paranoid even typing this

I don't think I've ever been as aware of a conflict as I am of this one and I think part of the reason for that is the ease of access to the information not just from the news but direct from the people involved in it on Twitter etc. Maybe it's that that makes it feel more dangerous but how can you then pretend to act normally and just ignore it when you know it's there? I can't just not look at it so it'll be ok

I never through I'd see a man beheaded but I've seen the images posted on Twitter probably from the feed of someone who actually took the pic, was actually there. It doesn't sicken me or play on my mind like I thought it would instead I am sad and start to think of the state of the world and what is to come

I know you'll take the mick now etc but can anyone offer advice does anyone feel the same. I actually want to leave the country but I don't know where I'd go. I won't leave the country and I know things are not that bad yet but that is how I'm feeling

Daz it sounds like you need to stop watching the news for a few weeks and just focus on your life. These kind of atrocities have been going on around the world for years.

Just look at the massacres that have occurred in Africa in recent years. Don't let it get to you. We are pretty safe here.

  4. Wasn't it three racist messages out of thousands?

    so?
So that suggests it isn't entrenched him and more his stupid attempt of humour? If there were hundreds of messaging or constant racist slurs then I'd see how he could be deemed as an NF or KKK member.

For most of us these kind of attitudes are not funny, not 3 times not ever.

Of course they are not and he messed up big time. But the fact is the Cardiff team were not all white. His stupid racist joke did not affect his work decisions.

 wait so person of colour is offensive, but nobody should be offended by those text messages? K.

It was a joke. Also where did I say people shouldn't be offended?

Also aren't we all people of colour? I'm surprised you see yourself that way.

  6. Wasn't it three racist messages out of thousands?

As a person of colour as one poster so nicely put it. I'd give him another chance. But you're probably right and his best bet may be to manage abroad for a few years.

  7. How do you solve a problem like the middle east? I am seriously worried that IS will continue to grow. I don't understand how a person in the UK could join them. Yes Muslims have a (justified IMO) anger towards the UK and US for their meddling. However to join IS and commit those atrocities is unthinkable. How does that help the situation?

You have to think that these guys are basically losers back in England, no job, no woman, no hope, frustrated. With IS, they have a chance to play out their little war games fantasies, and if they get killed, well, it's probably what they secretly wanted anyway.

Apparently many are quite educated. Not sure how true that is.

  8. We are a strange species; always looking to give our lives meaning and always wanting to serve the bigger entity.

Expose these traits to a martial culture, whether it be Prussian, red-neck, Highland Scots, Spartan, Samurai, Sikhism or the Ottoman take on Islam, and history records the outcome.

    Eventual defeat?

  9. Well having been on the receiving end of racism yourself, I thought you would be able to clearly see how despicable it is what Mackay has done. How you can defend his actions is beyond me.

The racism I experienced was to my face. A deliberate attempt to hurt and humiliate me because of my colour and no other reason. It's completely different to what Mackay did.

Also where have I defended him? What he did was wrong and very stupid. Despicable? Give me a break.

Are you White British? It's quite ironic how White British seem to be the most offended by his text messages.

His racism is deeply entrenched to the point where it even affected his transfer dealings among other things. Systemic racism is much worse than someone shouting racial slurs in your face in a deliberate attempt to hurt you, and I'm surprised that as a person of colour you don't seem too bothered by it. People like him should have no place in mainstream society.
Where is the proof it affected his transfer dealings? I agree systemic racism is the worst kind but I didn't read any proof of that.

I read he sent stupid text messages which he probably thought were funny but clearly wernt.

A person of colour? I find that quite offensive ;)

  11. What was that photo taken from?

I remember some years ago me and my mate kept seeing 1111 everywhere. Then on the 11/11 Villa were playing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. There were other stats that pointed to 1's also but I can't remember them all. Anyway I was convinced this meant we would beat Jose's Chelsea and I put a wager on it.

    Get what the score was.......

    1-1 !!!!!

  12. What are you laughing at?

I'm laughing at how you're now flipping this into an argument that people who are racist, sexist, homophobic and such 'generally' come from council estates and 'rough streets', and that these same people had a poor upbringing.

Isn't that what the premise is that there should be greater education to teach academy kids not to be racist, sexist, homophobic and anti-semitic?

A lot of them come from poor backgrounds and would not otherwise get exposed to these "cultured" values.

When Mackay came up through the youth ranks there was none of this PC education. Maybe it would have made a difference.

You mean educated enough to keep it to yourself? People from all backgrounds and 'classes' harbour these views. They are just more subtle in how they act about it.

  13. It's a clash of working class and middle class cultures.

A lot of the talent in football is from what used to be called the working class. They say things that you would never say holding a cup of tea and a scone.

It isn't a clash of working class and middle class cultures in the slightest, I can assure you that I am far, far, far from middle class.

It doesn't matter what upbringing you had to be offended by it.

What I mean't was that the people who use such language generally had a poor upbringing. Council estates, rough streets etc.

Con, what do you actually want to see happen to McKay and Moody?

Are you saying that because he hasn't killed or molested anyone, he should be allowed to get a job with a top club?

What about the alleged corruption and unexplained payments / transfer fees?

Are you equating the 'folksy racism' of a certain class or generation with that of a 42 year old millionaire, formerly in charge of a premier league team. Comments directed at individuals as opposed to regional and national stereotypes?

Would you trust him with Barry Bannan?

I personally think the alleged corruption and unexplained payments are more serious than the text messages.

I thought you were laughing at me removing my post swearing at Con.

Let's leave the working class up rough up bringing generalisation and talk about why you are so angry and feel it's a personal insult?

    Lol

I realised it was a crap joke and maybe seen as offensive ;)
