@AVFCOfficial: #AVFC: Guzan, Hutton, Baker, Senderos, Stevens, Westwood, Delph, Richardson, N'Zogbia, Agbonlahor, Weimann. #AVFCLIVE
That team would struggle in the championship I reckon.

Their squad sounds very glamorous.

Could you explain the cruelty of Halal meat?Good post Mj. It's the uproar about the cruelty of Halal meat that makes me life. Have these people not seen what happens in slaughter houses?!
I would be nice to catch your own animal and kill it in a humane way to then cook and prep on an open fire.
Something that is practised by some Sikhs I might add.
I don't know what the cruelty is but there are animal rights groups that say it's Inhumane. The religion I was born in to is apparently vegetarian yet it is forbidden to eat Halal meat. So why would a certain type of meat be forbidden if no meat is allowed?
Never got that but I guess that's a different topic.

I would love Lennon. I can't see how he would fit into our system though,
Which system is this?
-
I think our best bet is to set up for every game not to lose. It's ugly and we all hate if but it really is our best chance of staying up. The alternative is attack and lose by 3, 4 like we have seen so often. Lambert knows he has lost the fans so won't really care what the supporters think. His job is to keep us up.
Every point counts.
Squad is looking alright at the moment. What worries me is how it's used
Are you serious?

I'd just move. **** living and bring up a family in an unpredictable war zone.
Well, even if I'll ignore patriotism and so, being a Jew in Israel is not easy, but as I see things - being a Jew outside Israel is even worse. Look at the recent demonstrations in Europe, listen to when Arduan is saying. Even yesterday, Jewish kids in Sydney (!!!!) were abused. Look at history - we are not being treated all too well outside.
Here I at least have the ability to defend myself and try to control my own destiny. I am not dependent on some leader who think of "the republic" or "the voters". If you wish, I can get all sentimental and remind you of how the allies chose not to bombard Auschwitz during WWII to at least hamper some of the Nazis deeds over there.
Israel is here for a reason, you know
There's always America.

I would have been happy with this signing a few years back when we were half decent so definitely can't complain it's happened now.
I don't think he realises what he has got himself in for. The jinx position at Aston Villa!
-
Cissokho should be confirmed later this evening & he's signing a long-term deal - which can be viewed as a statement from Lerner. #avfc
Hopefully he is more informed on this than he was earlier.
I'm confused by the statement bit.
-
I think you're right to some extent but only when the CEO is working towards some sort of plan and the whole club is on the same page. That isn't the case with us. We have an owner who wants out and a manager with 12 months left on his contract. A good CEO is going to make little difference for a club like ours in its current situation.
And I can't agree that a CEO is the difference between relegation and surviving.
A good CEO will never take the job!

Assuming we sign the two linked today. Good team?
It looks like a team with a very good chance of staying up. The problem as always is one or two injuries to key players and we fall apart.
-
Definitely would be a good signing for us. Ok wasn't great at Liverpool but this was a team going for the title and he was part of a defence that didn't get much protection at all. Would be happy if we sign him.
-
spurs in my view are guaranteed 6th position.
At least. Not expecting to finish top 4 might help them. They could have done without Europa though.
-
This is believable and a little more encouraging. No guarantee he will be any good but at least we are trying to sign an International if the rumour is true.
-
Surely that makes Cortese the best person to deliver on the huge potential of Aston Villa.Because Cortese strikes me as very ambitious and successful business man.
Not while Lerner is in charge.
-
Trust me Cortese will not be the next CEO.Interesting, I'm starting to think the Cortese rumours might even be true, especially with Lerner's jet seeminly being in Italy recently.
Although in reality I'm not sure of how a good an appointment he'd be, I'm sure a lot of Southampton's success has to be down the owner's Billions and their excellent youth system.
Why are you so certain about that? Opinion?
Because Cortese strikes me as very ambitious and successful business man.
-
Not sure why Lambert hasn't gone for a talent like Hakim Ziyech of Heerenveen, he is out of contract soon as well!!
Assisted 12 last season in his first full season at Heerenveen and scored 10 from attacking midfield.
Price is apparently around the £2.5mil mark
Has anybody gone for him?

Off the villa site but I'd say it's genuine..
Fans who need to take their c&b specs off.The European Youth Comps are a joke. Nextgen started out with a good idea which was taking off using the best academies then UEFA decided it was a good idea and wrecked it by using a CL shadow comp it seems now it's the Premier. Leagues turn to have a go!! I wouldn't read to much into it as our academy is still ranked in the top few around Europe we just need to turn out some world class players instead of just decent premier league players.
Can I ask by whom and where our academy is ranked amongst the best in Europe ?

And from an independent site..

Look at the date. A lot can change in 2 years.

There's a few on here that are putting emotional consciousness into animals. It doesn't work that way. These animals are born, eat, defecate and sleep and are then uncruelly bolted. There is no drama, no emotion, just pure instinct.
We've eaten meat since day 1, we will continue to do so until the day humans cease to exist.
I understand that there are exceptions to the uncruel killing, but they make up a tiny proportion.
We harvest meat because it meant we didn't have to hunter-gather anymore. Why walk hundreds of miles when you can slap a fence round a herd of buffalo right?
Farming meat and settling populations enabled humans to create things, like tools etc. You think we'd have any usable metal wondering around the plains?
I know you know this, and vegetarianism is a choice, just like carnivorism. But to not have meat on the basis that you've saved a life, or won't eat a burger because it's processed, is very strange.
You haven't saved anything.
The right attitude to vegetarianism is ingram, on the basis that not eating meat is healthy -for him.
It would be nice to be able to eat healthier meat though. Does anybody know if there is much difference with organic meat taste and health wise to justify the extortionate cost?
-
I don't like the taste of meat.
Do you prefer to sink your teeth in to a juicy cabbage?
-
I see your point as Kroos is obviously a lot more high profile but in terms of ability, what makes him so much better than Lallana? Plus throw in the fact he has no Premier League experience whereas Lallana was one of the stand out players for two seasons.
Lallana and Toni Kroos are apparently the same value…...
You don't get anyway. In a market where Borini is worth £14m and Rodwell is going for £10m, nobody is going to be giving players away for **** all. Please do. There's nothing wrong with mentioning a 'cheeky' bid, loan or transfer. If you don't ask, you don't get.
-
It makes me feel like shit afterwards but feels so good at the time. A peace I can't get at night. Plus such vivid dreams.
-
Not really. Tony may be able to comment on this, but I believe the general rule is that herbivore meat mostly tastes good, and carnivore meat bad. What about only eating animals that would eat you if they had the chance?
Is that a good philosophy?
You clearly never had human.

I thought it was a haunting, breathtaking engrossing film.
