Thought we were the better side for at least 70 minutes. Both goals were errors ..... misreading the spinning ball was more excusable than Emi's complete positional fail on goal #2. Had a little more quality up top than in previous games ..... good passes, some decent crosses. Foiled more by good saves than bad misses for once. Thought Watkins was a real handful up front for once too.

Take out the two gaffs and serve up a goal from even 50% of the big chances and we beat a supposed top side by 2 or 3 goals. Would fans have still dismissed the performance ? No ! Would they still be shouting out to lose SG ? No ..... they'd be hammering through boxes of tissues and claiming they always rated him !

Villa fans fickle ..... yep, generally they ****ing are.

Now flame me !!!

The players look disillusioned ..... I fear SG has lost the changing room. Every player is -20% at least and that has to be down to the manager and coaching staff.

Maybe to you I'm a weirdo but I will never ever wish Villa to lose no matter who the team is and no matter who the manager is and no matter what you think may happen as a result. I'm an old skool Villa fan of nearly 60 years and I will not wish defeat on Villa, full stop !

Nothing against the guy but while Konsa has seen form dip as he bounces in and out of the team, we KNOW he can be very good and was being talked about making the England squad last season. For me, I would stick with Mings and Konsa, let them settle together and give that partnership a chance to recover what they once had. Maybe Gerrard WILL stick to Mings/Konsa and keep the new guy as "first change" if needed, otherwise he'll surely destroy Konsa with this move and it won't exactly do Chambers any good who has looked pretty decent whenever he has played !

I know I'm in a minority here but never have rated Luiz. I think he's a lazy player who occasionally excels on the ball but often doesn't and is a complete liability when we are not in possession. Fans were raging at Luiz not starting last night but Gerrard knew we needed 10 players who would work very hard when Arsenal were on the ball and that ruled out Luiz and Coutinho.

At this point in time, we simply can't carry luxury players like Luiz so £20M would be a decent trade for me !

PS: If we trade him for Gallagher at Chelsea then trade of the decade for sure !!!

Nothing against DeadDonkey but if that's where we are pitching in then I can only assume that Gerrard only has days left !

No doubt another slaughterhouse on here tonight but 10/10 for effort and desire, thought Mings/Konsa played well and really nobody played badly. About as good as I dared hope for and certainly competed as well as any team has against Arsenal this season.

Getting Coutinho in was a decent move but following that up with a lucrative long term deal was madness. Aside from his first couple of games, his impact last season deteriorated game by game but instead of releasing him at the end of the season, we go and invest in him ...... like why would you do that ?!!!!

Smacks of best mates here rather than a sound hard-nosed decision in the best interests of the football club. 

To think ...... Villa go down and Norwich replace them. Ouch !

No professional player at this level cramps up on 60 minutes ..... what is that about ?  He is way out of his depth at this level. He has the skills but the legs won't carry him and he just can't cope with anything other than a cameo performance !

He played well for 30 minutes and then faded and then fell over and then went off. Being mediocre for half an hour instead of useless for 90 minutes doesn't equate to "played well" for me ! 

Two moments that sum it all up ....... Archer is allowed to play with 2 minutes left and Digne passes back to Martinez with 1 minute left and the entire Villa team up front !!!
