What do you do for a living, and why are you talking about stuff outside your job? Shouldn’t you concentrate on your occupation?

Or is it actually fine for people to talk about things that matter to them? Which is all Tyrone has done

I'm not talking to the media. I'm not talking to an audience of millions. I'm not considered influential. Apart from yourself, nobody is likely to give a damn what I say.

    Slight difference I think !!!

  2. Souness is an oxygen thief scraping a gutter press living with controversial outbursts but I do agree that Mings does talk too much, often on matters outside of football. Wish he would concentrate on his game rather than trying to become a poor man's Rashford and risk what has happened to Rashford.

  3. In old skool terms, arguably the best CH we have. Good in the air, physically strong but today you need to be comfortable with the ball at your feet - especially here - and Hause has never been comfortable with the ball at his feet. Good honest player and hope he gets a move to a club looking for his attributes.

I love then "I watch football" retort. Basing your opinion of Carlos based on 2 or 3 games at Villa while ignoring the career he's had prior to then.

Best of luck in there in the 1980s. Hope you have fun

So you think stats in a completely different league are valid when talking about the Premier ? Seriously ?

Yes, I'll judge any player on what I see right here, playing for Villa, playing in this league ..... the rest is relevant to the leagues he played in and the eras in which he played but I respect your opinions if you think different !

NONE OF THEM ARE BALL PLAYING CBS

What is so hard for so many Villa fans to understand!!!!?!?!?!!

Sorry but that is complete nonsense. Carlos has not exactly demonstrated ball playing skills beyond long hoofs and to claim Chambers is not a ball playing CH suggests you've never seen him play. I'd even say Konsa is relatively safe with the ball ..... its only Hause who isn't.

Me too, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t recognise the limitations Gerrard has.

Of course he has limitations. He came here with relatively little experience as a manager but he was identified as somebody who will learn and become a decent manager ..... arguably in the same way as many of our players are expected to evolve into top talents. The Villa project is a step-by-step project, not an overnight transformation and I have confidence that SG will improve with the experience he is now gaining and I'm quite happy with that.

What's this I'm hearing about a fall out with Gerrard on the training ground.  Apparently Watkins threw the ball at Gerrard and went inside after a spat?

    Anyone heard anymore?

Doubt SG would be bothered ..... he'd know Ollie would miss !!!

Not sure if serious, but somewhere within the vast swathes of the pitch where the block isn’t, maybe?

But that's how a low block works, there are no vast swathes in the opposition half unless you turn round and head backwards !

I think this picture says it all with regards to Gerrards tactics - or lack of them.
Where the f*** is our midfield? We can't just play with Kamara and then two no.8's who bomb on - especially as the fullbacks push so far forward.

Honestly, tactically, we're a mess. Kamara is going to be hung out to dry this season unless we tweak the way we're playing or sign another defensive midfielder. We're an absolute mess in the middle of the park. Teams are just going to run through us.

    Wakey wakey, Villa.

Where do you expect them to be when playing against a 10-man low block ?

  10. I think Everton at home is probably the easiest fixture in the Premier at this point in time so I expect a bounce back win. Defeat will beg serious questions about the manager, his team building and his ability to influence performances at individual and team level.

I'd be curious what the more optimistic fans think he might achieve in the next half a dozen games that he hasn't been able to resolve so far this year.

Will all of our opponents play a 10 man low block, in which case we won't win too many. In the more likely case that teams will come out and play against us because they fancy they can beat us then we'll pick up wins for sure. I'm still more optimistic than pessimistic but that will change after 5 games if we are less than 50% on points gained.

This shit manager has different ideas though.

Get the opinions but being that brutal about our manager seems unnecessarily harsh given that you'll probably be hammering through boxes of tissues if we beat Everton !!!

  13. That away shirt is seriously embarrassing ...... not because of the colour but because it turns into a sweat pit as soon as the sun comes out. If I were a shirt sponsor, I'd be none too happy with my logo drowning in a sweaty rag. Either change the material or change the colour !!!

  14. Mc Ginn was invisible and had no impact on that one, Coutinho looked years past his best and a complete waste of a shirt. Defence did okay but had little help from midfielders who never did their jobs defensively. Ings was a fly on a windscreen, Watkins wasn't even a fly.

If Gerrard never realised before, he must now know that Villa need a strong, powerful, experienced frontman because Bournemouth's D had it way too easy out there !

I’m gutted that he’s left us, for me, he is a terrific player …….

Not for me. Potential yes but has shown not the slightest hint of being there yet in any of his cameo appearances for Villa and as somebody who watches our secondary sides, he rarely shows much in those games either.

Good luck to him but he’s half the player Jacob Ramsey is and will be!

Yeah, imagine McGinn ambling towards the opposition box, arse out, before taking a minute to line up a shot that goes 8 yards above the crossbar. No thanks.

In fairness that arse is pretty much key to Villa success this season !

  17. Can anybody explain how Villa TV works with pre-season friendlies. I have Villa+ on a monthly £1.99 sub and want to replace it with something that includes the pre-season games but I'm stuffed if I can work it out. It tells me to check my account page for upgrade options but there are no upgrade options detailed !

    Any help appreciated !
