    We will sell him of course, possibly January but more likely summer, but for now he does the job we need and appears to be willing to fulfil that role the clubs you mention or others like them will always be willing to buy. Going forward replacing a 5th choice mid fielder isn’t a priority we need to be buying a 1st / 2nd choice player replacements/ back ups elsewhere to maintain our progress.

    Experienced premier league and international footballer, not flash, limited technically and prone to the odd error. However honest, works hard when called upon and is willing to sit on the bench without creating a fuss until needed. This is just the type of squad player we need at the current time in our development.

    He was asked the question ‘can they win the league?’ and was giving reasons why he thought it unlikely he also thought that many realistic Villa fans would think the same at this point. What’s wrong with that ? Its also only 10 minutes before the moans about the officiating begins. Our position in the league and current form means we can begin to drop the victim attitudes.possibly ?

    So we are moaning about referees even before kick off now we really should be better than that.

    Two huge games yes. But we are expected to lose both (even with our home form) so really doing that only confirms what every realistic supporter knows. We have improved massively in the last twelve months but it is too soon to be seen as genuine top four contenders at the moment. We could be in the next 2-3 seasons but patience is needed.
