I see lots of people in other threads assuring he will be like a new signing but will he even be played? He hasn't even been involved with the club for the last what 6 months. As much as i think he is a top player and should definitely start for us why is it that people assume he will be played next season?

Some people are trying to make this whole situation more difficult than it is. We wouldn't be signing players if a takeover was imminent its as simple as that. I for one am really worried about next season. Not looking forward to it one bit!

This says to me that there is no takeover even slightly close because if it was then Randy wouldn't be sanctioning any kind of deals. Other teams are already strengthening and if frees are the best we can get then next season will be even worse than the last 3. So downbeat at the moment really hope we at least find out whether there is hope or not from a reliable journo or randy himself.

I don't think this will be that bad we certainly will have more physical strength than what we do with baker and clark. Hopefully he shocks us all

I'd love to hear a pundit say "Villa are hard to break down" maybe Keane can add i bit of steel to the players. Easier said than done with some off our players.

Agreed. Takeover or not we are in a relegation battle next season. Nothing will change overnight. I disagree, if a takeover was too happen i presume and hope that they would spend enough for us to be stable in the premier league and not scrapping like this every year.

I am absolutely bricking it for next season now. Everything points to no sale and we have Roy Keane as our assistant.

At the end of the day there is only one thing that will bring you success in the premier league and that's money. Unfortunate, but it is reality. I want to see villa win things. Buying trophies wouldn't make me any less passionate about the club i love.

I spoke to someone today who i know for a fact is connected with the financial sector of the club and is someone i do not think would be on the wind up. He claimed that the original buyer fell through for reasons he wasn't sure about however said that since then there have been 2 more interested parties of which only one has been taken further. He said that it is still very early. But thinks that a deal will be announced during the start of the world cup. Might be complete bs but i thought i would pass it on. UTV

Courtese would be good at Villa i think. Villa are fairly similar to Southampton with youth setup and selling players.

Lambert would not have stayed on if Randy hadn't given him significant hope of signing a high quality of players. I believe there are no potential owners in the pipeline as of yet and Randy will give Lambert a significant transfer kitty to protect any potential sale. The funds spent will probably be in with the figure/value of any potential sale.

Nick Mashiter @nmashiter_star 14m and, while I'm here, don't expect anything official over the weekend from #avfc. Monday should be fun though. Is where the rumour came from. Something will happen on monday but i think it will be about Lambert rather than new owners

I am really worried atm. If we are not taken over soon we will almost definitely go down next season. This will lead to us having a lesser owner. Although i hope that Lerner will still spend because he won't want us to lose more value through relegation.

I don't understand the backing for lambert anymore. Would just like a change. If were going to lose most weeks id rather do it playing attractive football.

It would be a travesty if Marc was allowed to leave on a free. Our most creative player imo. Shaw had a tough game against him at VP a couple of weeks back, just shows how good of a player Marc is. Also it would upset me seeing Martinez get the best out of him

I still have my doubt to whether we are even getting taken over tbh. Id expect Lerners statement to simply say that he is planning to sell the club but had no offers or is reviewing interested parties. Think this summer could be a long one. It's crucial that if this happens it is done sharpish because our team needs investment.

Hes done no worse than Ag£onlahor since hes been here. Not sure why he gets so much stick. Holt wins us so many free kicks its just a shame we have nobody who can whip in a good set piece

I feel like something is definitely happening after Randys statement and Lamberts recent interviews as they both have finally seem to agreed we cannot continue to perform like this. Lambert changed his tune completely when he said next season he is after 'big' players which makes me think that a takeover is on the cards however i think we should forget about it for now and get full support behind the boys on Saturday. If we are getting taken over id hate going down scuppering that plan. UTV!
