The best time is already a second faster than the best time from last year's day 1 test.

    Interesting stat.

As an aside i get the feeling Williams might have a half decent car this year and may challenge the top half of the grid a bit more.

Mate was away for a month over Christmas/New year.

Came back to a £140 gas/leccy bill; same as when they were at home the previous month. Octopus shrugging their shoulders saying it's correct.

The fact the smart meter has never worked seems to escape them.

That sounds ludicrous and really does deserve an explanation.

I know right, some awful hellish dystopian future where people are considerate and nice to each other.

Seriously though, you're right, there's always going to be some level of offensive, intended or otherwise. there are some thorny topics that are going to cause offence, and if you're trying to not be a deliberately inflammatory nobhead, the tricky bit is determining "is what I'm going to say/do valuable enough to be worth the bother" - the comedic merit of this would have fallen well short, for me, but to each their own.

A good rule of thumb is that if two parties do something to each other that could be considered offensive but neither are offended then we really shouldn't care if a third party onlooker is offended.

This is where the waters get muddied because the third party in this case are thousands of spectators on the course and watching from home.

Yeah, and ITV bought Friends Reunited for 175 million, doesn't mean it was a good investment.

The watering down of everything further to create content for their streaming services hasn't helped either.

Based on recent success for Marvel they might think they can do no wrong but the good will only lasts so long, if the films continue to be consistently crap people will be turned off them.

meh. bit dumb for Tiger to do this in public on camera.

if one of my mates had done this in a private game i'd have a had a giggle - there is a wee bit of puerile behaviour and chat between my group of friends an awful lot of the time. things we would never do or say in front of anyone who would take offence. I guess its down to knowing your audience/ moderating your behaviour for the situation.

I think the golden rule of life these days is that if something can be taken offensively, it will be taken offensively by someone, somewhere

That isn't a good enough reason to stop doing offensive things though. What's the end game with that kid of attitude?

  6. It really depends if you think celebrities and public figures are held to higher standards than normal people.

If someone did that between mates on a golf course its a funny and maybe slightly offensive gesture. Is it the TV cameras that make it an issue based on who can see it?

  7. Not sure if it was the game plan but we stood off them too much today, they were able to hold onto the ball and dance through us far too easily, that was our biggest failing today.

Overall we played ok but nobody was great really, Arsenal just play with more confidence and without the mental baggage.

Struggling to see where the next 3 points are coming from now, that defeat today just adds to the mental baggage and I fear it could affect our next few games if we don’t get a comfortable win soon.

That one is a rare exception. It’s not boxing but it should be hilarious whatever happens.

    Jake Paul gets battered, funny.
    Tommy Fury gets battered, funny.

For the latter all eyes will be on Tyson to see how Tommy has brought shame on their name. I won’t be paying for it.

I wont be paying but i will certainly be watching. Have more interest in this than most boxing fights over the last 2 years. UFC is better in almost every aspect at the moment.

Not being clever, bur realized that quite some time ago.

and still firmly holding my rabbits foot.....for the Summer.

I think most of us did but were possibly blinded by the form under the new manager. It was never going to last unfortunately.

With or without Emery this team isn't quite top half for me.

  10. Regardless of who you are playing, conceding 7 goals in 2 games is not good.

This was never a winnable game really so to win the 2nd half after that awful first is about the most positive thing you can take from it.

Well probably lose against Arsenal and that’s 3 in a row and you start to realize the team is not good enough for a top half finish.

Not really. We’re exactly where we deserve to be. We’re an average PL side, perhaps even below average. We have a good manager but he can’t perform miracles with a set of players who aren’t top half quality.

Im just happy we’re not in the relegation mix.

Exactly! Losing this game will be annoying but drawing sweeping conclusions from it is ridiculous.

  12. Sometimes you look at 2 fighters at the end and think one guy won that….

Volk basically neutralized most of the ground game but Islam was better stood up than most would have thought. Very close fight and can’t complain about 2 of the scorecards, the wide one though 😳.

Great fight in the end though, not sure it’s worth taking a rematch because you can only see it going the same way, he’ll take any close rounds and then almost certainly take a round by just holding onto his back, seems like you get the round regardless of whether you actually do any work, it’s wrong for me.

What? Surely not even the most mental mentalist from mentalandia would think losing even 5 or 6 against this lot would have any kind of impact on the goodwill for the new manager and the absolutely amazing work he's done so far?

My point being that the honey moon period may well be perceived as over and then we'll see where we really stand. In my opinion the results since Emery took over are beyond what we should expect over the course of a season so we may start to see that balance itself out in the coming weeks and i hope everyone stays onside.

  14. All i hope is that we go down fighting. We've already took a point off them this season and Mings kept Haaland very quiet so who knows...

Lose 3 pr 4 nil and the early good will is starting to fade already after that Leicester result.

  15. I completely see where PussEKatt is coming from, relative to South America or somewhere like the Philippines our prisoners are living in luxury, maybe too much for some people but all it does it perpetuate the cycle of violence in these countries which then spills out into wider society.
