  1. I would love to get on board with the team, the manager, the tactics etc. but I’ve got no idea what I’m getting onboard with at the moment.

Were 2 or 3 more losses away from sacking Gerrard and starting again at the moment and I don’t see how anyone could argue against it, we’re underachieving based on almost any metric.

Bit disappointed this window seems to be over. Two new players isn’t enough to improve significantly on a team that deservedly finished 14 based on lack of quality.

You also have to factor in there’s 4-5 players who could and probably should improve on last years showing. If Carlos and Kamara actually bed in early and we cut out two horrendous losing streaks that we suffered last year we could easily finish 3-4 places higher and then really kick on next year.

Midfield still looks to weak defensively, until our ability to hold the ball there is sorted I don't think we can judge our attacking play to much. I will be very disappointed if we don't get a proven DM.

Surely Kamara and Luiz or Kamara and Nakamba would be good enough in the games where we are more likely to be on the back foot.

The defensive players aren't so much the issue, i would say the bigger problem is SG has to play Mcginn and Ramsey in every game.

I have to say my only problem with this episode is how stupid the cartel is. Its clear to see hectors accusations have some merit to them. Its even acknowledged  that gus hates them. Why would you not be monitoring him?

I think if that was real life cartel would have taken him out by now. Yes i appreciate they ahve to make it work for the timeline of bb but seems abit far fetched for me

My take is that it was ignored for the sake of profits, Gus is clearly the best at what he does. Don Eladio is far too smart to believe the lies there surely.

  5. The Black Phone was fantastic, thought it would lean more towards Horror but was a thriller really.

Really well done, nice tight script, perfect length and the main kid was really good as well.

  6. I think we are done on big signings now.

still optimistic for the season, two new faces who will most likely be starting along with quite a few who have more to offer than what they showed last season.

Cant see us troubling the European spots if I’m honest but a season without two horrible losing runs, a ridiculous amount of losses and losing all 10 games to the top 5 would be a step in the right direction, maybe the following year will be the one to really kick on.

He’s going to be one of the signings of the season. Watch this space.

He will need to be if he's going to get our team about 6-7 places higher up the table.

Btw, I’ve enjoyed f1 the last 3 years (more so the last two) than I have in maybe 15. Really loving it again.

As balance, I think Lewis is a great driver but along with my thoughts above, I think he’s been very lucky to have been in a car that nobody came close to. Everybody in a level car and Lewis would look very good, but not as good as the car has made him look.

2007-2009 were classic years. Close title races, refueling, qualifying that meant drivers could be out of place on the starting grid. The red bull dominance years weren’t great and then 7 years of Merc dominance haven’t been great either. Last season was good though.

  9. Seems funny that he's basically the forgotten man this summer while we all dream of signing new players to propel us forward.

How we would laugh at this scenario just 3 years ago after winning promotion.

For me McGinn at his best is still one of our best players but at his worst he is one of our worst players. We see both during a season. And that is kind of the problem.

Nothing a bit of competition can't sort out which I am sure the club are well aware of.

Thats the problem unfortunately, he plays amazing in one game and then average in 2 and poor and anonymous in one. Players that play great once in 4 games and opposition dependent cannot be called great. Great players play great every week or at least 3-4 game spells. Our team is full of players that can be great on their day but cant do it week in week out.

Yeah it's certainly debatable. West Ham's form was worse than ours since Gerrard took over. With European football again they need to compete on more than one front with a smaller squad than us. Leicester are losing players and Vardy gets older. Newcastle had a bounce last season who knows how they will do next season integrating more new players. Wolves were beyond lucky last season with many of their wins.

I think we've added very smartly to our squad too. Kamara and Carlos are the two key positions we needed filling. Press resistant ball players with high passing stats and a proper CDM. Add to Digne, Coutinho, Chambers, Olsen - all 4 are successful signings. We add a LB so we don't have a significant drop off when Digne is missing and we're in a good place. Consider Bailey like a new signing too. If we do a Luiz our and new 8 in hopefully that adds another bit to our overall squad performance.

I totally agree but still feel like there’s an upgrade needed on McGinn still, if he’s starting every game next season we aren’t finishing top 8-9 imo.

  12. Those of you who think youve never had it may well have had it and not known.

I did the antibody test in early 2021 as part of a government survey thing and it said i had the anti bodies so most likely had it within the previous 6 months but i didn't have so much as a sniffle during that time and never tested myself either.

  13. Im not a fan by any means but Verstappen is the real deal. Its hard to compare like for like but he's not far off Hamilton's level and may even be equal or better. Who knows if he will get the Champs but the talent is undeniable.

  14. It can be frustrating watching someone less than a second behind for 10 or more laps and not be able to challenge but at the end of the day if the person infront doesn’t make a mistake that’s how it should be!

We obviously want overtaking but it can’t be too easy either.

    Finally finished Far Cry 6.

Very good game, great weighty gunplay, really cool, dynamic and instinctive combat but hampered once again by the bloating of the map size and the insistence on having a zillion extra curricular activities scattered around. Some of the side missions are perfectly enjoyable, but other things like the base building and guerilla missions seem utterly pointless in the grand scheme of things.

I thought they did a good job with the story though, and some of the character deaths and twists and turns were top notch.

Overall, very good but definitely no Far Cry 3.

I'm just coming to the end of it myself and agree with what you have said.

If you like Far Cry games this will be up your street, i feel like on the xbox one the graphics are maxxed out now and have been since Far Cry 4. Im sure on the next gen consoles the game looks great though.

Overall its a solid game and theyve crammed a lot in but they cant seem to recapture the magic of 3 and 4.

I'd have Ward-Prowse in a heartbeat. By a country mile the standout player for Shampton last season.

Imagine swapping him for Mcginn in this seasons team, holding onto the ball and keeping our passing moves going.

Obviously you would lose some of his attributes but its 100% an upgrade in the way we want to play.

Having said all that, not a chance for the 40-50 million they would want.

So its you who is staring at me while I sup my expensive piss in Brewdog!

Never been in the Railway, always seemed a bit rough around the edges?

It’s fine in there, just like a local pub but in the city centre. They have all the sports and it’s not packed out most of the time. You’d be mad to drink in brew dog over the railway imo.

Changing the subject completely. I just found out it's illegal to own more than 6 dildos in Texas

What if it’s a gun shaped liked a dildo?

    Week 2 - 1 pound down

The week in summary is 12k steps again, food was around 1700 calories. The problems were that i drank heavily on Friday and Saturday, didnt get enough sleep and did about 100 steps on Sunday. Should have been a 2-3 pound loss without the drink but i have to take it and do better this coming week.

    Week 3 - 3 pounds down

    Total now 8 pounds.

Week in summary was around 1800 calories a day, 13k steps a day average, drank heavily once and moderately once. Overall pretty happy with that, don’t feel like I’m denying myself calories anymore and managed to lose even when drinking a few times. Not going to hit the stone but another 2 pounds is possible and that will be 10 pounds in May and I’ll be happy with that.
