  1. He usually remains the duration of his contract at clubs or near to it that’s what he di at Valencia, Lorca & Almeria, Sevilla he had 6 months left on his deal at Villarreal He wasn’t sacked by PSG before anyone says the only short periods he’s had is Arsenal and Spartak but this is the first time in his career he’s had actual control along with money to build something. The clubs he’s been successful at in the past were under heavy financial constraints and PSG well is PSG they sign whoever they want not the profile of player the coach wants. He has his “guys” here with him in similar to what Guardiola at City our owners have entered a partnership with the club he owns once again similar to Guardiola at City so I expect him to be here for a long time the only people with the power to F it up for him is us the fans and media.

Euros? Has Brentford along with Greater London finally up sticks and has joined the eurozone?

That’s what it’s quoted on transfermarkt which translates to £29m which mentioned earlier in my post but everyone seems to want to nit pick over a million or two, euros & pounds here for some reason instead of actually acknowledging that the fee we paid for him looking back seem cheap and great value.

i thought it was 28m, up to 33m with add-ons, with a sell on percentage?

i cant remember what the sell on percentage was, although, as he signed a new contract, doesnt that invalidate any sell on percentage initially agreed?

34m euros . Either way good business

You have to have some testicles to put out a badge like that. Big old balls. A pair of them.

I can't take my eyes off it unfortunately.

Have you got a link so we can see for ourselves 🤣🤣?

They absolutely blitzed the Championship playing some wonderful football.  For whatever reason, they seem to have abandoned that this season.  I expected a Keegan-esque approach to the league, continuing the attacking and knowing they'd concede a fair few.  Instead, they just don't score anywhere near enough... but still concede a fair few.  They should have been more Bournemouth than Sheffield United.

Similarly, though, I don't think Kompany should be sacked.

It’s not that they’ve abandoned it , it’s more the fact they can’t do that at premier league level. Kompany is naive in his approach similar to what Smith was when we came up. I agree he shouldn’t be sacked they’ve signed some decent young players and will come back up.

Anyone else love how Unai pronounces his name?

Love .To be fair commentators constantly pronounce Martinez wrong as well as Kamara (they pronounce it camera) 🤣

I said it before but I don’t think he is one of those players who can come in and hit the ground running. He needs consecutive games to get up to the speed. Like Tielemans in that respect.

We are going to need him in this little period so I hope he can get up to speed very very quickly.  Because right now he doesn’t look just a bit slow he is notably a yard slower over 5/10 yards than everyone else on the pitch. He did OK yesterday on the ball but off it him and Lenglet were all over the place. We conceded about 4 guilt edge chances in the middle of the pitch. On another day we had an absolute disaster yesterday which given how much better than them we are would have been criminal.

Personally I think he’s the opposite the type that comes in and does a good job when needed and can’t do it on a regular basis. It’s the same old story he struggles with consistency he did really well yesterday but it’s likely he follows up with an absolute horror game.

  8. Unbelievable skill for the assist , credit to Ollie and his foot work and anticipation getting his bodyshape right for the finish both are the same page in the past I think Ollie or anyone we had in the box would have been caught on their heels.

Exactly. Some people (not you obvs) have short memories.

Winning the Europa Conference & qualifying for the champions league is the platform to build upon to create a winning culture at the club. I don’t think for a minute these owners want to become a Spurs only participating and taking the money.

The spurs game is probably the most important game  for us in the last 40 years. If we make the champions league at least we have the chance of building a squad to stay there. In that context the games v Ajax are basically meaningless.

Ok Martin let’s send the reserves out to Amsterdam . We all know how that turned out last time.

  11. Lenglet would get into most Premier League sides and he’s very much a ball playing centre back it’s just that Pau plays that position at level of quality unreachable to most . Only a handful of teams in the PL play the risky possession based football similar to what we do. At a team like Man Utd who don’t really play big club football he would thrive and the likes of Gary Neville would be calling him the best ball playing defender in the league.

He plays Pereira like a fiddle at least eight times in this comp. Poor guy's gonna be having nightmares for weeks.

Instantly sets up an attack with his passes he has a range of passing and this is what makes the difference opposed to short neat and tidy completions along the back line.

  15. Good player shrewd signing imagine if we had not signed him and went with Chambers & Hause. It’s a difficult task for him playing in new centre back partnership on top of playing on his unfavored side.
