He has a lot of potential. You can see he has a good football brain. It’s getting up to the speed of this league that will take time.

Absolutely there’s a maturity about his game he sees the pass a few steps ahed of the average player has good close control and the physicality to go with it. Taking time to adapt and learn was always going to be the case. I’m genuinely astonished at the amount of people talking negatively about him here would they rather we pay £45m for him later down the line in his career after a Brighton or Brentford develop him for us?

This. His movement is excellent and he can without doubt carry the ball / pick a pass.

Rough diamond of course, but, we could be looking back at him being an absolute bargain in three years.

Exactly it’s a case of looking at the potential rather than expecting a finished article it’s easy to see why we signed him.

  3. I’m sure did something a bit naughty off the ball end of the first half , Brobbey was on the floor holding his head and Carlos had a sheepish look on his face

  4. Been injured for months looked good. Let’s use some logic when judging his performance young player learning his trade shaking off the rust.

but that's what we are doing.....playing 8's in no 6 roles....because there is a clear lack of 6's at the club.

Yes but a 6 in Emery system requires technical ability. Old fashioned for lack of better term destroyer won’t cut it .

We need some athleticism in Midfield.....and effective cover for Ollie.

We need a dominant centre back.....( Unsure of Mings's situation)....Lenglet and Carlos are not the answers.

We are playing too many attack minded players in defensive positions...we need to address this.

I hope Monchi is the villarreal version, not the Roma Version.

    The Sevilla version…..

You sell the fringe players and one star in the summer. I have set all this out in the transfer thread and ffp thread with full details

Otavio , Inacio , Frimpong from your FM 24 save I’m guessing 🤣

Carragher in a bit of bother for some inappropriate on-air comments on CBS Sports, not surprised really from the spitter.

The show in general is a total cringe fest tbh banter is funny when you aren’t constantly looking for it. Carragher came across as an even bigger tool after that comment.

Limited them to one shot on target and didn't have a single one on target ourselves. We then didnt turn up for the second half, ceding possession and looking like it was the first time the team had played together.

Last season when we beat them they were playing a totally different style of football, under a different manager. Before you even mention that it was away from home.

The approach should have been front foot, it wasn't.

Tim being the straight swap option for Kamara, with most of the core of the team having had an easy run out at Ajax, would have been fairly logical.  Maybe he was protecting him, but having 5 defenders on the pitch when playing at home does suggest he wasn't confident in Tim over a far less logical choice.

Either way, he should start against Ajax and I'm hoping we go back to the formation that has worked far more often than not this season

Iroegbunam came off with a cramp against Ajax so it was very unlikely that he’d start again a few days later.

Not sure what Emery didn't see in him in training that meant he didn't start him. The fact Emery would rather try a completely untested new formation, against a team that leaves themselves open at the back regularly and perfectly suited to our normal style of play,  thn give him a run out... we'll it's concerning.

Get the feeling Emery doesn't think he's ready. But he doesn't have a choice now.  Let's hope he steps up.

Ummm he’s been building minutes gradually he started mid week and of top of that he’s barley played any football in the last 12 months due to injury so his workload has to be managed. The formation that everyone keeps on blabbing about is the same one we used last season to be Spur at their stadium the only difference was personnel. The idea was to nullify the attacking threat of their fullbacks and hit them on the break which we did in the first half we limited them to a single shot on target and should have capitalised on our opportunities .

We sold off a lot of our best youngsters which we could hsve done with now. One not bu choice of course who isn't getting much game time at Chelsea.  It's a policy which has come back to bite us. A young player from the academy is far more likely to show the necessary commitment than many loanees who come on high wages. Time to give this lad a chance.

It hasn’t come back to bite us though has it? Iroegbunam is building up minutes and improving just because Archer scored against us doesn’t meant it’s bitten us we had to sell to generate and income that’s how football works.

I refuse to believe Emery set up for a draw.

He didn’t the plan was to nullify the attacking threat of the Tottenham fullbacks unfortunately it didn’t go our way.

Ben Davidson is the real deal as a trainer. Got to say.

This also makes Fury look terrible.

With all the shite people talk, AJs last performance against Wallin... And his demeanor leading up showed me he was serious

Definitely people tend to take him the wrong way but he’s a hell of a lot more humble and respectful than Fury. I’m enjoying his redemption ark.
