Hmmm. Again, not sure I agree. Tielemans, Luiz and Kamara, one could argue, are quite similar. All very good players who are comfortable on the ball and very quick to see a pass that can hurt the opposition. All three also seem unfazed when being pressed. McGinn, for me, is different. He's the only one who can really use his body as a weapon, he charges around flying into tackles and he brings an energy the others don't. Again, I'm not commenting on who is the best player of the 4 in question or even who is better than who, I just feel McGinn brings something our team needs and perhaps we lack when he's not on the pitch.

Put it this way, I think we'll really miss McGinn when he's gone and we may not realise just how good of a player he really is.

Yes he compliments the silky players perfectly and is very skilful in his own right. He just has that hustle that dog in him which makes everyone around him better .

  2. Amazing how different people see him now it was there to see from the beginning just need to look at the potential rather than looking for the finished article. As good as JPB is I doubt players in the Premier League would be bouncing off him like Morgan.

  3. Anybody saying he needs a loan and we should sign a backup to Ollie on twice the wages needs their head checked. Loving his development here how exciting having these crop of talented young players.

  4. Good performance cheap developmental player holding his own with the odd mistake here and there as expected very excited to see him develop under Emery.

We use a combination of zonal/man marking that leaves us vulnerable to mismatches and open space at the back post and top of the box.

I can guarantee that the zonal/man marking combo comes from the Emery play book and the coaching aspect  is delegated to MacPhee . I imagine he has more freedom on attacking set pieces. If it were all on MacPhee then we’d still be using the long throw from throw ins it’s well know Unai is obsessed with were players are positionally for throw ins I imagine it’s the same on defending set pieces in order to set up our next phase of play be it retaining possession and building out the back or a quick transition up Field.

With games running out and our objectives, developing young players is not the high on the list of priorities. We need players who can contribute and make a genuine impact, so much to play for. Plenty of time and opportunity for development including preseason.

Diaby and Zaniolo can make a difference… not Rogers and Duran so much atm, their time will come…

I don’t see why people can’t see what Rogers offered? He carries the ball in similar fashion to Ramsey and that was the logic behind starting him he lifts his head and plays the ball. Zaniolo had a good game but it’s obvious why Emery prefers Rogers over him , like many I had high expectations of Zaniolo this season unfortunately it hasn’t panned his way he was given multiple starts in the early stages of the season but it seems Emery no longer trusts him as a starter. He’s earned us 2 valuable points with late goals hopefully he can build on this performance but I can’t see Emery starting him in the foreseeable future.

He didn’t put in a shift.  Dont have to be experienced to do that. Lazy

Drove forward with the ball and attempted some nice through balls created a decent shooting opportunity for him self. I suppose your definition of putting a shift in is running like a headless chicken.

Complete and utter liability today. Hopefully won’t start again for us this season or we are done for. I see the potential but the kid is too raw. Loan needed next season

Don’t be so short sited. Had a decent game faded as the game went on but that’s understandable we will develop him and give him game time. It’s easy to jump into the FFP thread and cry about potentially selling key players and then complain when we give low cost youngsters the opportunity to develop and grow. The alternative is buying a experienced ready made signing whilst Rogers & Duran are out on loan eventually forcing us to cash in on players like Luiz , Ramsey ect. Can’t have it both ways it’s clear why we signed him anybody and everyone should be able to understand it won’t come over night. A loan would be totally counterproductive the whole idea is to sign these players and help them grow into a bigger role with Emery’s guidance. Sick of silly posts like this.

We need to look at the bigger picture rather than nitpicking Unai's ideas. We're STILL sat in 4th place which by rights (and given our injury problems), we probably have no right to be. Unai has dragged us here kicking, screaming and still fighting. Its pretty incredible really.

Yup there’s a bigger picture these young inexperienced players need to develop we can’t send them on loan and sign an expensive older replacement until they are ready to start regular . Very short sited some on here. West Ham struggled to deal with us early on then we started making mistakes to let them back into the game.
