prime candidate to sell and help us with FFP in my opinion.

Decent, and an improvement from him recently, but nowhere near athletic or strong enough for a midfield spot in what is already a team somewhat lacking in the attributes he lacks, which means its even more of a negative overall.

Hopefully can turn a healthy profit on him

We didn’t sign him just to flip him over for profit in a year …

It's painful when he tries to take someone on, he can't seem to get past anyone? Really not sure if beating players is in his locker?

He tried to go past someone yesterday and I just had zero faith in him, think it got blocked for a corner in the end.

Trickery and dribbling Bailey or Traore style isn’t his game, it’s more receiving the ball in tight spaces turning and playing a pass or shooting, pace and the ability to get in behind. His finishing and vision were key elements of his game and that ability to pop up out of nowhere with a goal there were times he went missing in games beginning of the season but he had that knack of finding space and scoring now the goals have dried unfortunately. People need to get their heads around the fact that he’s not a highlight reel dribbler of the ball and more of a player who attacks the space well.

Has he ever played or been tried on the left in his career?

Has a decent cross on him as well so maybe worth a temporary shot?

Him on the left and Leon on right for some games?

People used to post this constantly about Leon. It won’t happen and it isn’t the answer it will all come together eventually. The workrate and application is there.

Not concerned about him at all, he’s got all the raw physical assets needed to play the at the top level.

Just needs to work on the tactical aspect and become more familiar with his role/the team.

He can only become familiar by playing.

His touch was a little off but Ajax were defending very well all night, doubling and tripling up on our wide threats. It was not easy.

True it wasn’t an easy night at all Ajax were good. His work rate was good and he showed for the ball didn’t lose possession, tracked back and defended well.

You can't do what he did though and worryingly he did it again about 10 minutes later

He often does this he’s quite good at buying fouls but the ref was having none of it last night.

"Just like when City ran the Randy Lerner out of town"

I used to love the Randy Lerner.

He was the most electrifying owner in all of sports and entertainment.

I could definitely smell what the Randy Lerner was cooking.

The Jabroni didn’t know his role

Last season the three promoted sides all stayed up so jumping to conclusions based on one season isn’t ideal.

But the money involved has jumped up astronomically, remember when we came up and we thought £20m was a huge fee that’s the going rate now.  If you don’t keep moving forward in this league and show ambition in the transfer market you don’t stay up, easier said than done whilst trying to spend within the constraints of FFP.

Yep. Better of the two. Starts next week for me.

Call me bonkers, but given the injury to Ramsey, I wonder if Emery would start Moreno on the left of midfield..

    Nope not a chance

  10. Was excellent on the ball especially first half he’ll only learn and gain experience on the pitch. It’s funny how the reaction is always slightly moany when young players are given an opportunity it’s also the same when they aren’t given the opportunity 🙄

Yeah he’s an all rounder, more in the Pirlo, Redondo, etc mould than the Makelele mould. Still very good at sitting in front of a defence. Just a great player.

There aren’t many who play that Makelele role anymore most elite Defensive midfielders are complete players otherwise Marvellous Nakamba would be classed as the best DCM in the prem.

Its hypothetical IF we have to sell someone - for FFP he would be the most viable - or would you rather we sell Watkins/Luiz/Martinez?

We might not need to sell anyone - but he would be the obvious choice

Constantly banging on about means something has triggered you…..

Maybe, but we may have no choice but to sell Ramsey to make pure profit for FFP.  You think that's fair?

Where has this come from exactly? Why are people posting with such conviction that we are selling Ramsey?

Thinking about it somewhere like Ajax would be a good loan for him to develop for a year. Could be an option if he makes an impact over the two legs.

He can't really be having another season of 0 league starts and a few cameos in cups. He won't be starting any CL matches if we make it so you're potentially looking at even less starts next season which would get him even more wound up.

And then what? Buy an experienced replacement on higher wages?
