  1. poor display today, ashley young should not be allowed to take another corner until he learns how to hit it into the 6 yard box at decent pace and decent height. im baffled that gabby was left on the bench? when we are that 1 dimentional up front we need someone who can make a half chance due to his speed. i thought carew was better than heskey but heskey stayed on? we could have played them for another 90 minutes and we would still be waiting for a goal. why not change formation or tactics or personel? i can see our season starting to slip down the bog again. next game gabby and carew for goodness sake, you dont owe heskey anything so stop bloody playing him.
  2. i think its both. to me there is no way it is just sheer stupidity, no one is THAT stupid, that only leaves corruption. 1 mistake? nope, he gave united 40 minutes 'grace' to do what ever they wanted in the first half and in the second he tried to disguise his intentions slightly better. losing in a fair game is hard to take but losing when there is blatant cheating and corruption going on is taking the piss.
  3. but that would imply he was correct and sticking to the letter of the law. he wasnt, he was clearly paid off because you cant give the penalty and not send him off in those circs so how else can you account for they way he behaved today?
  4. especially when you consider that had dunnes header in the last minute gone in and we subsequently went on to nick it on penalties then he would have been hailed a genius and the best manager in living memory... i doubt it, most fans have enough common sense to know see when something needs changing. they dont have a reputation to keep or need to be stubborn or have to keep certain players happy, they just see it how it is. if dunnes header had gone in and we had won then people ( apart from dwod who would probably have lost lots of bung money)would be happy with the result but i very much doubt he would be hailed a genius , the errors and weaknesses are still there, a win doesnt disguise the fact things can be better.
  5. for todays game it was the be all and end all of game changing moments. 10 players for 85 minutes and a goal down. it effects everything man utd had planned including subs, formation and tactics. to say the ref was little to do with the defeat is just as bizarre as the decisions 'red phil' was making.
  6. It was Dunne who lost the ball to Berbatov. Dunne did the unusual mistake that cost a goal. nope cuellar is the one who while under no pressure on the right with the ball at his feat under total control with no utd player anywhere near him decided to turn back and pass it to a utd player, the ball then went to the other side of the pitch where the dunne mistake happened. cuellar was the one for me who made the mess up.
  7. from a villa players perspective rather than getting even more pissed off with corrupt refs downing was very poor today, wouldnt tackle ( led to their 2nd goal by not even putting in a challenge) and tried to come into the middle of the park all game making the play too narrow and giving their wide players far too much room. ashley young was also very poor, falling over all the time, bad passing poor decision making, a horrid game from him. cuellar? well it was him that messed up for their first, bbc keeps saying dunne was at fault but if cuellar hadnt played the ball to a man utd player then it wouldnt have happened, had several chances to bang the ball into the box but failed every time, misplace passes and poor decision making. he should have been in the middle with dunne, the burnely game showed how much better we play with a decent right back. i thought the rest of the team played well although collins was not at his best either. i thought gabby was the mom from a villa point of view, he held the ball well and did some vey good work up front, he was let down by the 2 supporting midfielders young and downing. milner was solid as was petrov and for once, heskey also put it about a bit although i still fell we shouldnt have started with him. warnock had a decent game but again, was let down by the lack of support from downing and young dunne was good for most of the game, he played a hand in their first goal by trying to be too clever, the goal was a total defensive **** up bearing in mind we had the ball with time and space on the right and within 5 seconds cuellar passes it in field to a man utd player it falls to dunne who then miscontrols it, gets control of it, miscontrols it and lays it to berb dunne then puts in a great tackle but collins doesnt react and owne scores. downing and young should have been taken off after 60 minutes, both were having poor games and provided nothing defensively and slightly less going forwards ( until the 85th minute when downing decided to remember how to pass a ball). for me we played great for the first 5 minutes, then once the 12th utd play phil " i accept back handers, it is the only excuse i can give for being so biase" dowd got stuck in, we lost the momentum. im disapointed, not really too much in the team, but in lack of changing things around and not starting with cuellar in the middle and luke young at right back, that affected how we played today
  8. a big thanks to phil dowd, obviously he will have had a large amount of money on Man utd to win, that is the only reason i can possibly think of for todays performance. it didnt help that downing was crap, young was crap, we didnt play luke young at right back , cuellar messing up for their first goal and then no villa player wanting to pass him the ball making our options limited. but as the title says, the person who won the cup today was the ref, a total disgrace which shows how bad or corrupt he was when ALL the bbc pundits agree that vidic should have gone AND they should have had bookings. the only good thing i can say is we have witnessed quite possibly the most biase reffing ever on a live tv game, hopefully there will be some come back although no doubt al the refs will now close rank sucking alex fergie off.
  9. there are not many games where we should have got 10 goals, this though is one of them. how many chances did young put wide? we played very well in large spells, keeping the ball and passing it around, that is what happens having a left back at left back and a right back at right back. over all most of the team played well, we just missed far far too many chances on goal, gabby finished the hardest one and muffed up i think about 6 1 on 1s. thats why we need a proper finisher to go along with his pace. well done though, i was swearing at my lap top for large parts with the amount of misses
  10. well we have torn them a new ass hole this half, how we are not 5 or 6 up god only knows. i can think of at least 3 1 on 1ones gabby has muffed up, add in to that young having 2 or 3 very good efforts, milner and carew. we need to pop 2 or 3 quick goals in at the start to the second half to deflate them, warnock will be getting them fired up after the 'corner' which led to the goal, it wasnt a corner as it came of milner but **** it, we deserve to be in front.
  11. laursen when he played, however there is no point having the worlds best player if he never plays. i liked laursen, i said we should off load him due to injury and replace, i made a mistake because he played most of the next season and was awesome, but that was his last season unfortunately. dunne is playing well, he is lucky that collins and cuellar are both also good in the air and quick tackling, im sure he would not look half as good playing next to curtis davies when he his head isnt right.
  12. we wil get hammered tonight the way this is going, no right back and heskey = weakness.
  13. Brian Little, John Gregory.... Brian Little, for a time, was a very good manager. But then it started going wrong for him. John Gregory, for a time, was a slo a good manager, but then .... the difference with MON is that we are seeing continual improvement, something which should be lauded, not pilloried, IMHO. If you think the football is "shit" under MON, you must have a very selective JG memory, Mart! the biggest difference is MON has been given what ever he feels he needs financially where as the other managers havet, they were also more succssful in a shorter priod of time, imagine if they had been given the same sort of financial backing? anyway, that is all yesteryear now. as for MON, he can be good but there really is no need to keep trying to piss as many people off as he quite possibly can by changing a winning system or by changing a winning team to try and accomadate one of his favourites, at the expence of results and any possible momentum we may have picked up. that is my main gripe with him, that he feels he is beyond any kind of reproach by making basic **** ups which were easily avoidable.
  14. You're right, of course, but I'm sure Randy is also far better equipped being 15M richer. You see, the difference of having someone like Bent in the squad is not the difference between finishing 6th or 4th, more likely , at best, it'd be the difference between finishing 7th or 6th, which is not worth the investment. That is, if Harry was into doing business with us at all. yes, having a player who regularly scores 15 to 20 goals per season would not improve us and we are far better off having the 10 million Bent cost, in the bank. in the league he has played 214 and scored 104, just under a goal per game. I haven't said anything remotely close to what you're implying... just incase you forgot what tou put i have made it a little easier for you to remember. so you are not saying bent is not worth the investment? you are not saying he would not improve us and be the difference between a top 4 and no top 4? did you not say the chairman is better to keep 15 million in the bank rather than get bent? very odd as you appear to have written it.
  15. To be fair we're still in 2 cups, one has not started yet but we're still in it! jez you are quite right, we are still in 2 cups although the one we play all season to try and get into, which brings with it benefits like a higher europe and world profile, gets the attention of better players and this season through the league system would generate more money than before, appears to be the one MON hates the most, how very odd?

  17. i was expecting MON to take advantage of our unique cash rich position in the premiership at the time when we were pretty much one of the top 3 clubs cash wise, to make significant investments in quality players, rather than buy dodgy players and then slightly less dodgy players then average players then decent players, a total waste now that all clubs have the same spending power if not more than us. i was expecting MON to stick with a formation which plays to our strengths and when that formation is winning us games, to stick with the formation. i was expecting MON to play players who are on form, not stick with players who are either injured and off colour, off colour or emile heskey. i was expecting us to be competing on a regular basis for the cup competitions and to at the very least, be in the eufa cup or its derivative each season and making it to the 1/4 finals or knock out stages each season. i guess i was expecting too much?
  18. great stuff, well done martin, picked heskey yet again, leaves a midfield of nrc on the right petrov tired, sidwell awol yep another classic from martin o neal, no doubt people will still come up with some shit defending some of his utter shit decisions. more points thrown away, well **** done

  20. take young well the **** away from free kicks and corners please
  21. I think that's a fair statement, but I can see why he put three strikers on the pitch. But from the sounds of things, he should have actually put Heskey up front where he belongs if he's going to play, then either Milner, Young or Gabby in attacking midfield, so we had some pace to get back and help if necessary. would that be gabby who scores goals? you would replace him for heskey who doesnt score goals? weird and so the heskey points per game total gets even worse, as does the lets play 4 4 2 instead of a winning formula of 4 5 1. never mind, im sure once 4th is out of reach more excuses... i mean explinations, will be brought forward.
  22. i was at work and had skyscore centre on, as soon as i saw he was on i turned to a work mate and said " well we will lose this one now", they had a player sent off but i still insisted it was nil points for the villa with him playing. just the same as ginge playing and us getting points, with heskey playing we dont get points. it is not a coincidence, he does not work in our team, we cant afford players like him who do very little
  23. the sad thing is, the majority of us have been screeming from the roof tops for us to go back to winning ways rather than use some system to try and incorperate heskey into it. i think 4-4-2 may still have its place but not when heskey is involved, carew and gabby would work, if both were fit as gabby would run everywhere leaving carew s the true striker up front.
  24. sidwell should be tht person, he isnt for what ever reason so if we dont get any decent midfielders from now until the window closes ( mistake if that happens) then when we are in a commanding position we should start introducing delph into matches. hopefuly we will get someone like VDV, not many times there are top quality players available at decent prices where money and champions league ar not the top priority.
