He's obviously easily influenced by idiots. Wasn't he hanging out in Vegas in June with the likes of Ireland, Nasri and Huddlestone. Seriously, wherever he ends up, he needs to get some better friends.
Yes - I know how you feel. However in terms of funding a replacement the difference may be very small. If you accept that Lambert isn't going to given the whole £25m to get a replacement - the difference to Lambert maybe nominal. I see us spending around £8m on a Benteke replacement - irrespective of whether we get 22 or £25m for him
Accept that but why do spurs a favour by selling him on the cheap. I hate that levy bloke and if he wants him he can pay £35m thanks very much.
If it were me, I'd make an exception for Benteke and smash the wage structure just to keep him for 12 months. He will more than pay for himself. You could easily put him on £4m for a year and easily recoup that in fees and additional prize money.
He's probably the biggest revenue earner for the club in our history, lets say we sell for £30m , that's £23m profit in 10 months plus without his goals we'd be down in the championship so that's another £60m income due to him.
That's very roughly about £275k revenue for every day he's been with us. Amazing.
If its Chelsea I'd demand £40m cash, up front. Plus add ons. No makeweights, no stage payments. If its true, just get it done ASAP so that we can restructure.
For such a small nation, Belgium have an amazing national side. I seem to recall they had a very good side very early 80's too.
Really hope we can keep Benteke, got a feeling we could have a great season if he stays and is fully focused and on board with the Lambert project.
