  1. I hope Collins will sign for WHUFC. Claret and blue colouts perfectly fit him. . .
  2. Great performance by team, Given and Collins, in particular, have been irreducible in defence of the goal. But also Lichay, Herd and Bannan prove that they are ready for the first team. And I have appreciated even the spirit with which AML knocked his chest saying: with the heart.

  4. In cases like this the risk to slip on rhetoric is very high but we have the privilege to meet him and (a part from being a great play maker, ça va sans dire) he's really a great man, humble, and affable. As a man he is like Matthew Le Tissier as a player: simply the best. Get well soon, Stan. Hold on: http://www.youtube.com/embed/0P5jV4lHHR0
  5. I think his absence is a blessing. I can't understand why this blessing should be "in disguise". Dunne is an unwatchable, overpaid defender that plays football the way it was played in the 30's of the previous century, belting the ball clear instead of trying and build from the back (that is the continental style play that all the great English clubs adopted since at least 15 years). Last but not least, he committs one or two banal mistakes every game and he is responsible of the 50% of the goals that we concede. The Italian Sky TV commentator says always that he seems a pub player and he is absolutely right.
  6. A good first half and three golden points, mates. Without Richard Dunne three unbeaten games and two clean sheets in a row, the utility of this overpaid, average, player is under the eyes of everybody!
  7. The game was exciting and we played with great desire, but if you have 2 clowns in the team you can't have any ambition. Arsenal had three goals gifted: one by Dunne, one by the referee and one by Hutton. But it was the Dunne's silly foul that decided the game, as usual. You dont need to be Leonardo da Vinci to realize that at the end of the 1st half they were overwhelmed by whistles of their own fans, and to comprehend that if we had resisted for 20 minutes they would give up. There was only one thing to avoid, to concede an easy gol, and Clownne did it, as usual. I only wonder if his huge wages are paid by AVFC or AFC. . .
  8. My Italian club wear Puma since 15 years and I have no doubt they are the worst kit manufactuter in the world, either for the poor quality of the materials and the banal design. Macron is less famous, but surely better, a touch of Italian style!
  9. Umpteenth goal conceded on set pieces. Dunne & Collins are two clowns!
  10. I don't comprehend all this alarm for the possibility to change the kit manufacturer. I don't like any of these Nike shirts, that never reproduce the proper shade of claret, the famous Aston Villa claret. Compared with the classic, beautiful, sober Umbro kits of the 70's te Nike kits look really crap. Even the Third Division kit was amazing. And the 1992-93, with its retro style and the famous lacets. Umbro, the one and only, as far as I am concerned.
  11. Boring game due to the awful pitch, but good performance of our academy. And fantastic assist by Richard Dunne, it's a scandal that such a gifted player earns only 65.000 a week!
  12. AML has returned to be the AML that he has always been apart for three games (Arsenal Stoke Chelsea), one of the muppets would have coached the team better today.
  13. Apart from the Warnock's ridicolous blunder, the positioning of the whole defence in occasion of their two goals was something that goes bejond the imagination.
  14. Which is the name of their keeper? I have never seem him in action today!
  15. Our defenders are a group of clowns, probably the most overpaid clowns in the world.
  16. Terrible and unwatchable defence unable to build from the back, as usual. Dyer against Warnock seems Cristiano Ronaldo.
  17. I have seen the game live on TV with one of our members that lives in my same region and has come to meet me in order to celebrate the end of a hard year for the Villa. It's quite funny to relive the match through his facial expressions. Errorichard Dunne again! How long will it take to us to get rid of this awful player that earns about 65.000 K a week? (sorry mate, his contract expires in 2013) Stylian Petrov! And then there were three. Cheerio Chelskji. . .
  18. Happy new year from Italy to the Villa family all over the world.
  19. I have never been a fan of AML, but I reckon that in the last three games he has changed his attitude and vision of football acknowledging the fans' demands. Today the team selection, with Super Mark, Zog and Cjaran in the starting XI, was for 10/11 fine, included Cuellar for Hutton as RB. After the first 20 minutes of the second half, when we were crushed in our box he played a second striker instead of the 5th defender (as many feared, I suppose) and a creative midfielder like Barry Bannan. It's the third game in a row that the team try and play a passing football instead of the long balls of the beginning. AML is changed, and if he keeps to make the team to play a positive, entertaining, passing football, we must change our attitude and support him without reserve, imo. Thoughts?
  20. I am firmly convinced that the fact of having three clowns in defence (Clownne, Clownlins and Clowhutton) doesn't help, but I agree with those who think that the main reason for our negative football are the AML's defensive tactics. At this regard, last season my two favourites for the after-Houllier were Paul Lambert or Gianfranco Zola. Being Lambert not available at the moment, I would go with Zola, great player and great man, that used to play football the way it has to be played, and that surely - even as a manager - would try and play an entertaining, flowing, attacking football. Surely with Zola the likes of Clarke, Albrighton, Gardner and Bannan would find place in the starting XI, whereas players that are not capable to find a passage eben by mistake would be out.
  21. Surely when you play a negative, defensive, football with players that have squared feet like Hutton, Dunne and Collins in defence and Emile Heskey in the middle of the park you can't exepct that fans are in high spirits. But I remain optimist and confident as I think that we could play an entertaining, positive, flowing, attacking football with this XI eleven: Given Herd - Clarke - Cuellar - Warnock Albrighton - Petrov/Jenas - Bannan -N'Zogbia Bent - Agbonlahor
  22. We should try to win because this is the last approachable game before a terrible series that will se us against the top teams. After the inexplicable performance and team selection at WHL I can't not in highest spirits, but I like to think that you can't keep a good Villa man down. The reason why I'm not so eager for this match is that I'm quite sure that once again - the sacred claret and blue shirt will be worn by four unwatchable players that would make William Mc Gregor to turn in his grave, and obviously I refer to: Hutton, Collins, Dunne and Heskey; - whereas are fit and available Cuellar and three good youngsters that could replace them very well and instead will go on the bench or wil remain at home: Herd, Albrighton, Bannan. But we are Villans above all. . .
