  1. Wow really? What a signing that will be - where you get this from? mate of mine has a few contacts at the echo, tends to be right more often than not. £15m is the figure
  2. liverpool announcing the mata signing in the next few days that looks like downing off the table so
  3. if he wants to go let him go assuming someone meets our asking price, which really shouldn't be any less than £20m plus extras. if nobody wants to pay it then fine, hold onto him for another year and sell him for £12-14m next summer. it's not ideal, but it takes a bit of the pressure off finding a replacement for him this year given that we've so many other areas to strengthen. we can worry about getting in a new left winger next year instead although if we could get nzogbia in, and a cheap backup like that lad at the dutch club, for whatever liverpool are willing to stump up then we should go with it. id buy in the 2 new players before letting downing go though
  4. out of interest (as I agree, we dont really know), what are the signs?? the fact that the owner has backed the manager every single window apart frm the one where mon walked due to throwing his toys out of pram everyone was bleating on that we were broke and didnt have a pot to piss in this january, then we spend £30m ive got no doubt itll be similar this summer
  5. we've seen nothing to suggest that though all signs point to us having plenty theres **** all you can do to stop players who want to leave from going though, it happens at every club in the world. all you can do is make sure you get as close to the terms you wanted for them That was in context to hiring a top manager. nothing points to that being true though. we just had a really shitty short list

  7. its more likely we used the milner, davies and gardner money though
  8. hmmm not sure how are you on platformers and hack and slashers?
  9. the original has aged quite a bit, but you'll love madness i challenge you not to be blown away by the first hour
  10. yeah, you need to download it though, so make sure you've got a bit of hard drive space to spare
  11. full review from the next issue of my magazine:
  12. FWIW Eurogamer does not agree and Neither does IGN finding some of the media reaction to this pretty odd to be honest. absolutely every forum i use where people have played it has been full of praise. ive yet to see a punter say anything even remotely negative about it ive got absolutely no idea what some of these reviewers are playing at, maybe ea pissed on their cornflakes about something, but i honestly cant see any way at all that this shouldn't be considered one of the best games of the year
  13. havent three managers now come out and said he's one of the hardest trainers theyve ever seen? even houllier said he looks a different player on the training ground
  14. its an action adventure/platform game based around alice in wonderland. since its the sequel to american mcgee's alice she's older now. its twisted as ****. havent written up a full review yet, but heres one for i wrote for one of the irish national papers, it's not too detailed coz theres a serious word limit on my space
  15. played it last year in LA for quite a while and definitely wasnt impressed hopefully its come on a lot since though
  16. best game of the year so far absolutely fantastic
  17. well it looks done so theres no point in taking out our frustration on mcleish. he's an innocent party in all this. can any of you say you wouldn't have taken the villa job if you were in his position? no chance. he's come to a bigger club, better team and one backed by more money, of course he was going to take it our collective issues here lie with the board, who have approached this whole thing with in real charlie chaplin fashion. faulkner needs to go, the "advisors" we have need to go, and lerner needs to put in more money than he ever has before and hope to sweet **** that things turn out better than we all anticipate. if you've got issues, don't take them out on the manager or the players, take them out on the board. when the players are on the pitch support them, at least until we're 10-15 games into the season and we have a fair idea of how the mcleish thing is going to turn out. if they're playing utter garbage with nonsense tactics then by all means, let your views be known about that. but lets not start crucifying the manager because he decided to take a much better job when it was offered to him
  18. skin tight! gonna be a lot of unflattering silhouettes around anfield this year
  19. my fear is another farce like this summer again in 12 months time if that happens the club is screwed on all fronts we desperately need mcleish to surprise everyone
  20. the biggest problem about the whole this is that when mcleish inevitably needs to be replaced within the next 12 months, we're going to have a repeat of this whole process again unless the board actively start looking for a replacement now ive never understood why chairmen dont have a list of managers that they update regularly who they'd like to have should something happen with the current manager. similarly, ive never understood why managers dont have an ever evolving list of 3 players for every position ready should they need to sign anyone are we the only club that seems consistently unable to plan for the future?
  21. General, Since we're getting a new kit can I suggest we change the crest to reflect the modern face of aston villa?
  22. hopefully blues win any legal action against us and save us from having mcleish as our manager
  23. general, unless you guys have something really special up your sleeves and this all turns out to be smoke and mirrors, i can safely say that the chances of randy, mcleish, faulkner and even yourself being made to feel very unwelcome at villa park are extremely high in the immediate future. for all the money randy has put into this club, this seems like one of the most ridiculous mistakes i have ever seen anyone make in any business. it doesnt matter how good mcleish could be for us at this stage, what has happened here is so unforgivable for so many villa fans that its hard to see beyond randy's time being about to come to a very abrupt end at villa park its a crying shame too coz he's been absolutely brilliant for the club so if this appointment goes ahead, pass on my thanks for the last five years and my regret for the poor decisions that have been made in the last month or so, and tell randy i wish him all the best in the future, because i really cant see him being around for much longer
