  1. Spoken like a true Israeli! Hey, someone has to take responsibility for all the mayhem! I've ran into too many people with free will and this has got to stop! That's why I support Getafe - we start small but eventually we'll conquer the world!!!! ehhmm... the Spanish League!!!!!
  2. Damn you!!! Damn you all!!! This Grooveshack just ruined my life! I am hooked!!! I can't work! Can't do a thing. All I can do is think of the next song I am about to play. Curse on you all!!!!!!!
  3. I hope they will never get their independence, because the rest of the Spanish provinces will follow. Just imagine how the World Cup Qualifying campaign will look
  4. Indeed it is, but the differences between Real and Barcelona are not so much Catalan-Castilian, as the origins go back to the Generalissimo Franko's era, where Real was his team (and got huge advantage for it) while Barcelona represented the "free people" (pardon my overstatement...). That is why their rivalry is more fierce than Real-Bilbao one. Still, surprisingly enough, the hottest game in Spain in recent years is the derby of Seville between Sivilia and Betis. I remember at least two occasions when it was abandoned. I even think a ref was knocked consciousness once... No political differences, not ethical differences. Just pure hate.
  5. You'd think someone would have noticed him before Forlan's goal was an absolute bullet as well! True. I will never understand how can Forlan score such screamers and then miss free header from 2 yards.
  6. Well, I think that Barcelona might be the 2nd and not the 1st. Athletic Bilbao is probably #1. First, they are Basque and the differences between the Basques and the "ordinary Spain" is much greater than Cataluna. Second, Athletic Bilbao have a policy - they field only Basque players. Not only they have no Catalan or Castillan (I must have misspelled that) players, you will not find "regular" foreign players in their squad, not matter if they're African, European or from Out of Space. If I recall correctly, after a couple of difficult years, the management conducted a poll, asking the supporters what do they prefer, and the results said that they rather play on the 4th division than field non-Basque players... Amazing. And more astonishing is the fact that despite this policy - they have never suffered relegation.
  7. That 4-3 defeat was amazing!!! The ref ruled out a totally legit goal for Atletico. Atletico's defense did all in its power to allow Barcelona to score and Barcelona returned the favor. Amazing game. Amazing.
  8. The Animals - We've got to get out of this place
  9. That's correct. I guess that some part of it is the fact that Villa haven't took place in a title race for ages, not to mention actually winning it. If we were constant title contenders, the match with Brum was an interesting one, but not as important as a match with Man Utd, for instance. Let's hope that we're on our way - while we'll become one of top 3 teams in England, Brum will see Reading clinching 2nd and letting them enjoy yet another season of 2nd division football...
  10. Hell no. Despite Barcelona's huge superiority and much richer legacy, this Derby is hot. First, they play for the same city, but above that, things go back to Generalissimo Franko's era. RCD Espanyol stands for Real Club de Espanyol. Real as in "Royal", or in other words - Esapnyol was established by Catalan people supporting the Monarchy.
  11. Yep. Raul Tamudo scored a last gasp goal and practically gave the title to Real.
  12. Not only they have lost, it was at home to their local rivals RCD Espanyol. Ivan De La Pena scored both goals for Espanyol and these were hist first goals in the La Liga since 2004/5 season (double checked it with Soccernet), not to mention that he grew up in Barcelona FC, and was supposed to be one of their stars (such as Raul is for Real Madrid). This was the second game in a row they didn't play well. I am glad.
  13. Well, I am happy and I am usually quite pride at Israel. I know this is not too popular thought at the moment, but when I look back and see where we are after only 60 years, it makes me feel proud of the ones built this country (this starts with David Ben Gurion and includes even my grandparents who took part in all that happened since 1948). I agree - there are no flawless countries and Israel have had its share, but all in all - I think we did quite well. As most of you (especially the Irish), I am not too fond of what happened here in recent years (leave geopolitical issues aside, as this is a whole different debate). We are shifting towards the American model of "you are respected according to the thickness of your wallet" and this depresses me.
  14. Born in Petah Tikva, currently reside in Bet Hashmonay. Both cities in Israel. Have never been to Birmingham and still, I support Villa. Go figure... P.S. I call for the ejection of swollef from this forum due to illegal use of avatars...
  15. Greetigns General, I was advised to bring this to this thread, so here goes. I run (and play in) an amateur football team in Israel. Up to now we used to play in yellow, but the time has come for a change and I thought it would be great to change the colors to Claret and Blue. Still, due to the strength on the Pound Sterling in comparison to the Israeli Shekel, purchasing a kit or even a shirt is not an option. I have addressed the Online shop with a request for any... cheaper solution but I haven't heard from them so far. I wondered is there something you can do to help me here? I am in need of 9 shirts in total, and I will welcome any help I can get. Thanks!
  16. Yes, and get it over with. I rather take 16+Finnan, than continue this thing.
