  1. Anybody got any more info on the story that the commentator revealed - Deadly Doug went to Anfield rather than Goodison by mistake last weekend?
  2. The commentator just said that Deadly Doug went to Anfield by mistake last weekend I haven't heard that before - did I just miss it?
  3. We have scored one you know! GoalS = plural 8)
  4. This is working for me http://www.iraqgoals.net/ch7.html
  5. We really really really need to turn this dominance into goals. Same old same old, I'm afraid.
  6. Cuellar looks to be having an excellent game - hope that's not a curse on him now.
  7. Well, a year ago the winner of this title would undoubtedly have been Petrov, so it just shows there is hope for Heskey to settle into the side and show what he can do for anyone who has a bit more patience than a hyperactive gnat.
  8. I would say that other clubs - Spurs, Sunderland, to mention but two - have spent heavily over the past three years but they can't all have a right to fourth/fifth place just because of the spending they've done. Also, you have to take our spending over the past 3 years in the context of the woeful spending from around 2000-5. The last 3 years has really just been re-stocking the larder with essentials.
  9. Yeh, after he left they won the SPL in 05/6, 06/7, 07/8. Clearly, utterly trashed. financially crippled they can only compete with championship clubs for playes like Fortune and Fox Well, by the look of things, there is no chance of him repeating that with Villa! Are you sure that Celtic's financial situation is entirely down to MON? Sounds improbable.
  10. Yeh, after he left they won the SPL in 05/6, 06/7, 07/8. Clearly, utterly trashed.
  11. May I just point out that the question in the thread title: is entirely different from the one in the Poll: You could answer Yes/No; Yes/Yes; No/Yes; or No/No to these two questions, so what exactly are we being asked to debate? Can't vote on these grounds. EDITED for the 2nd time. Damn this messageboard formatting.
  12. Ho hum. Looking on the positive side, at least the last two games have answered the question of who plays at right back, at least for 2/3 games.
  13. I'm always very wary of matches which are billed as "must win", which in many ways this match is. Could be setting ourselves up for an all-too-familiar failure? This is our chance to get ahead of Spurs and Liverpool and challenge Man C to get maximum points from their game in hand. If we win, we will start to look like contenders again. If not, we are still in the following pack. I would be delirious about a win, however it is achieved, and to those people who are posting over and over again criticising our "style of play", I would just say take the points, lie back and enjoy it.
  14. MON struggles with rotation unless its forced on him with injuries. To be fair, rotation just for the sake of it is a risky business and surely isn't practiced by many premiership managers, with the exception perhaps of Benitez, who gets a lot of flak for it. Changing personnel would normally be brought on by injury or loss of form. If a 1st XI is fit and playing well, why change it? The other reason to change squad personnel is often to provide an alternative side for cup competitions but I think only the strongest squads can do this. I'm glad MON played almost his strongest side against Sunderland or we may be out of the League Cup by now.
  15. Petrov took a bad knock on Saturday. The ideal would be to try to co-ordinate a spell of suspension with time off to recover from injury.
  16. Looks like a good time to be meeting Everton. Loads of injuries, wobbly results, and Moyes is definitely showing the pressure. Go kill them off boys!
  17. Agree. In many ways, this was the best bit of the evening!
  18. "barry's boots" blames it all on MON. There's a shock.
  19. According to the bbc we had 2 shots on target and 7 off target.
  20. Thank heavens we're only getting these polls once a month now!
  21. Complete opposite for me. I've got a feeling this is going to be one of those special nights. I know it's not exactly a high profile game, but I just feel this could be one of those 'were you there when' nights, that'll be talked about for years to come. Again I don't know why. I've got my fingers firmly crossed that your instinct is the right one.
  22. Just got a feeling we're gonna lose this one. No backing argument, just a feeling in my bones.
