  1. I suppose the problem is scale, an underground only makes sense for a certain city population size for example. It needs a certain throughput of people a day for it to be worthwhile for all public transport types I guess.
  2. On the subject of missiles, as @bickstersaid above from the Guardian, they are running out of the "good"missiles. Their precision strikes are becoming less and less. They are hitting roads or empty sheds with missiles earlier last week. It's just wasting their own time moving them around and firing them. Other missile things:- I beleive Ukraine just got some "Brimstone" from the UK. I sepent a bit of time looking into these yesterday. Depends how many but if it's 500-1000 then things change, they are awesome. - The missiles talk to each other in flight and decide the targets and then strike if anything changes mid flight. - Can launch from basically anything. Air, land and sea. - Hit static or moving targets, doesn't seem bothered if target is moving quckly acrross sea for example. - These are best missiles I have seen latley, utterly fantastically outragous and brilliant. - I don't think you know they are coming until far far too late. Hopefully this week:- Take out all the remaining Russian Command and Control / Ammo / Logistics that is in range now. Without these they have basically got a few hundred thousand troops waiting to freeze to death or from Artillary with no command or supply. In a Ukraine winter, the first super cold nights and they will surrender logically whilst they can still walk. I would hope that this will be taken this week also, it's in range from the other side of the river and the red X is a park. they can't defend this for much longer. Get this and Russia needs to move again as they are in range again.
  3. A lighthouse might be nice. Like Fraggle Rock, that sort of vibe.
  4. York seems nice or somewhere where there are waterfalls and stuff like that.
  5. Is there any reason they should have the internet, I am unsure if Russia as a country should have this Western invention? Would be easy to do and things like bobming maternity wards make me think they have other things to think about. There is no reason why it can't be throttled to .ru site @ 14.4 K ? Stops the propoganda to an extent also.
  6. Agreed, I suspect it is an absolute pain is in the backside to supply and defend also, it's almost undefendable given location and coastline I guess as well. It's a Bullseye moment for Putin, look what you could have won. No invasion he keeps Crimea, Invasion and he lost it all. No even a speedboat. If he keeps it then child killers really do prosper.
  7. I didn't know this until yesterday, Goat's had a large impact on the destruction of North Korea's economy in combination with some mental ideas from the rulers. It never recovered from it.
  8. It can't be that Russia gains from this. If they do then everyone will have a go.
  9. They can, but not to the EU and only at a specific price point, also, transport of goods. They sold to the EU becasue it was the easiest route by far. Its basically free money. Not anymore. Its all really complex for Russia. They need to sell oil at 80-90 dollars a barrel for it to start being worth it. They are getting 63 ish from India / China (I think, not 100% on that). We assume Russia has the technological expertise and tool / parts to keep it all pumping like a Rolls Royce, they don't. Only Western knowhow got it running and only Western input will keep it flowing. Oil / Gas is appx 21% of their GDP. It will be lucky to be 12% next year. Imagine that across all industries that are left (Minus 1000 Western companies (Eg IKEA). Watch and wait, things will start falling from the sky and popping valves soon enough. They can't hide it either from space for the Oil / Gas +(Plumes of gas as they can't store it) They can't store any of it so have to sell , sell , sell every day with no hiccups or little problems. The sanctions will get them and get them bad. Just need to wait until February. They can't turn off the gas / oil. They are F******
  10. It's hard to be positive about it all but Terrorist's don't usually come out on top, especially against the US / UK working in the background. It never ends well for Terrorist's but Russia is the Terrorist state of such sheer size it's difficult to see a way to win. Russia will lose, the latest multiple missile launches are IMO the last tantrum, the skies are almost safe. The German SAM's are working at only 100% at the moment , it flies it dies. They are done on the ground. 30 Days for the troops in Ukraine. They won't be able to stand it for much longer, they are been blown to literal bits. Ukraine launched 6,000 155mm Artillery shells on the Orc's in 1 day. earlier this week for example. In terms of weapons, Russia is on a fine line now. They need enough troops and hardware to protect itself from other countries, at a certain point they will become a sitting duck and they know it. It's going to be close and nasty but I feel they are almost done.
  11. I am playing Frostpunk and Farcry4 on the PC at the moment. Both are excellent in their own way.
  12. A lot really, From this I can take it his mom has told him some great news about finding his dad. She is 40%+ sure his dad was either a Small Heath or a Tesco, almost certain she is. Also, In a bizarre coincidence, the bloke in the picture holding the flag is called "Number 11" the same as the hero in "Stranger Things". That's where the comparison stops.
  13. Agreed, in the big scheme of this war it's not a massive thing, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Russia are lucky, if it had hit a school or hospital then we are having a different discussion or they could have crashed into a US Sub. Its sad for the 2 people though, they really are nothing to do with it. Few things I have thought about. I suspect that Putin a) doesn't have many cruise missiles left b) The west will now lock the airspace over Ukraine with whatever toys they choose now, NATO also needs protection now and this is the route in for total sky control c) Only a very small % of Russian missiles get though, diminishing returns and costly for Russia in every way. d) The West (Especially the US) will play this down to control the narrative and keep a lid on things. e) They purposely took the P*** out of the G20 but it backfired and they were too clever for their own good. f) They have annoyed the US in a big way, things will happen behind the scenes now. g) Ukraine will get a support package sooner, rather than later, this will be to control the skies, get power back on and to chase them out of Ukraine. Ironically Russia just poked a bear. This bear will now finish this by stealth, they have really annoyed the wrong people at the wrong meeting.
  14. I don't understand this either. They are at best a terrorist nation. Seems odd to invite them. Their leadership is sub-human, it feels counter productive to let them think that killing civilians is a thing that gets you a golden ticket.
  15. Oh dear, didn't expect that. Well hopefully it's something really quite serious in nature that only Western Medicine and ongoing treatment can solve. He is of no value, just tip him in a skip out the back.
  16. I saw him live in Rotterdam a few years ago. Really enjoyed that.
  17. I doubt Russia can properly supply 30,000 + troops dug in through winter. They couldn't do it in the summer let alone the winter within HIMAR http://range.To feed, heat and water that many troops under fire would be difficult in training let alone in a real war. I think you are correct about Xmas, hopefully the Russians just give up.
  18. They just don't have the vehicles needed to span it, a Lada won't do it I suppose.
  19. It must be done, by drones, artillery and aircraft. It would be criminal to let to let the Russian Army roam around Ukraine doing whatever they like to whoever. We know what they do to innocent people, don't give them the chance. They are an invading force that must be run to the border unfortunately. Also, they get home and they help with the Russian economy long term, we don't want that either.
  20. Its the elite in and around Putin that have the final say as far as I know. Once they lose confidence in their master strategist then he's gone. Who gives the message doesn't matter, the result matters and its a retreat. It matters deeply to the elite, they look like absolute words removed no matter how they frame it and they know it. A retreat and running away scared of Ukraine is what it is. Maybe it actually dawned on them that Ukraine are basically NATO trained now, they can't win and they realise this now. (Someone in Russia must have thought at some point, "Imagine if it was NATO, we be dead in a day"). In boxing terms Russia is have a bit of a Peter McNeeley moment, shouting and threats will only get you so far. Only now do they realise they might have made a small error of judgment in February but now it's getting real. Putin has stopped popping things at Ukraine also, they won't get through anymore since the new Anti Missile stuff arrived. This is the turning point but Ukraine need to keep going, easy targets they are now, running away.
