  1. Whilst i agree, we don't WANT to sell. So why would we accept £25m which is clearly below his market value, i can't see us being pressured to sell in this situation if we don't want to. Also in terms of potential suitors, i can't see spurs paying what we want and Chelsea have Lukaku, whilst Arsenal are singing Jovetic. I see Atlectico if Falcoa leaves, although they aren't exactly cash rich themselves and have massively over achieved this season (only spend €1m last summer and had loan players come back and do better than expected). If he goes to Athletico fair enough, he will probably get 3rd every year and first few rounds of the champions league. But i can't see Athletico keeping their best players either. Dortmund are the only club who can be a major attraction at this time really, and who knows Lewandowski might even stay yet!! (plus their record signing is €17m so why people think they were nailed on to sign Benteke i have no idea.
  2. 1) That italian Journalist also said we were signing Coutinho in January so he doesn't know everything because there's not a chance we were in for him! 2) IF he does go, we would want atleast 30m for him, players like Oscar from the BRAZILIAN league cost £27 without being proven. 3) There are ready made alternatives like Wilfred Bony, i don't know how good this guy actually is but his goal scoring record is something like 32 in 31 this season. Also i know we were 100% in for him last summer and it was only through the break down of his move, that we signed Benteke. 4) Call me bitter, but if he leaves i hope he becomes the greatest one season wonder we have ever had and completely flops .... lol MUST GET > £30m
  3. Apparently after being amazing last season, this season he has been absolutely shite!!
  4. Zaha? The same Zaha who has been heavily linked with Man Utd, Arsenal and Tottenham? The same who was going to be leaving in January but said he will stay to try help Palace gain promotion? Palace would get 8m+ for him with ease, rumours flying around of 10-12. Why on earth would he be available to loan, especially to a relegation candidate / midtable team? "That guy" is one that Man Utd have strong hopes for in future. it may be in Utd's interest to get him to us for some first team football to see how he handles the pressure of 1st team football. I for one am against this unless it's an emergency. I look at Kyle Walker, how he was in his first few games for us, and how good he became over the course of the season, and just when he was becoming a real quality player, it was time for him to go home, and now Spurs are reaping the benefits. I'd much rather we went out and found our own gems, than polish them for the bigger clubs. You seem unaware that Zaha signed for Man Utd for £15m in january and was loaned back to Palace..... They could potentially look to loan him out in the same way that Chelsea did with Lukaku
  5. Lukaku could play in Weimann/ Gabbys positions because he's alot more mobile that Benteke and slightly faster as well. With him and Benteke and Gabby/Weimann up top our attack would be unreal!!! It won't happen though
  6. We won't get a massive Global brand like clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal ETC. be someone like FX pro again i reckon! if we sign an asian player we could potentially get a big Japanese or Chinese brand or something. If i was the CEO of a football club i would make sure they have an Asian player anyway because the revenue it can produce is huge!! we need someone like the new JI-sung park lol
  7. 24.5m...jesus, that is a massive sum of money. Yeah surprised Arsenal are splashing the cash, few more mil and they probably could have tried to persuade Benteke, In fact i heard Higuain was avaible for 24 :s Higuain I could maybe see an argument for, but there is no way in hell Benteke is better than Jovetić. I think there is definitely a valid argument that Benteke is better! If i were Arsenal i would pick Benteke without a doubt, they need a strong focal point to the team (which Giroud is clearly not up too) they already have players who can slot in behind the striker and chance games like carzorla and to a lesser extent Rosicky! For me, signing Jovetic has no effect on whether they would also be in for Benteke. They are impossible to compare!! It's like arguing who's better between Lowton and Weimann! Agreed with all that mate up until the last bit. They both play up top even if Jovetic has been moved a bit more out wide. I honestly think for Arsenal they need someone like Benteke. I understand what you mean but it's a very different type of up top, i would argue that Weimann and Agbonlahor whilst being forwards haven't exactly been strikers as such this season. I think Arsenal would have been better going for Isco from Malaga if they're going for that sort of player anyway! He's unreal, going to be as good as Mata i believe and they need money so would probably be cheaper than Jovetic!! They got Cazorla £16m after all

  9. Kevin De Bruyne is one of our best players in the "golden" generation we have currently. he's an exeptional player who would be an improvement for any team in the PL imo. atm he's on his way to Dortmund. He's been very important for our national team with his famous wide crosspass he provide's tons of good balls for Benteke and he's one of Benteke's best friends. but the strength of our national team is the good atmosphere theyr all friends and work for eachother. off topic: wow my english is really improving Incredible that they were both playing in the same Genk team last year! is there anybody still playing in the Jupiler league that regularly plays for the national side?
  10. Do you rate Kevin De Bruyne, Belgium guy? I think he's such a good player!!! not suggesting he would come to us or anything just wondering whether people in Belgium class his as part of this golden generation of Belgian players!
  11. Do you have a link to Lambert saying that? He said so in the pre-game Wigan presser. Does anyone have a link to that? I'd love to know if this was true, because if those three came for less than 3 million that would be some extraordinary transfer business. Its on AVTV mate
  12. Depends what people consider a big signing really... I'd have called Benteke one, and I'd expect at least one in that price range this summer Perhaps Paul is talking about £10m+ signings on stupid wages Yeah i think we might see Benteke like signings because 'those days have gone' indicates that it was the old regime sort of signings that he was referring too. Another Benteke Westwood Vlaar Lowton and Sylla and i'll be more than happy
  13. was Abdoulaye Ba a genuine target you reckon? Just watched a video of him and he looks like an absolute beast!! good on the floor aswell for such a big guy
  14. Fair enough mate, it really is fascinating how they have manager to get so many players from Bundesliga.2 and lower Bundesliga teams and turn them into such a great team!!
  15. Sne, i understand your point but i think some of the players we are buying are probably a mix between Freiberg and Dortmund. We are clearly MILES off Dortmund but it would be interesting to see whether players like Lowton, Westwood and Sylla would get into their club and whether they would see potential in them for their own team? Benteke obviously would. I just keep thinking, if we sign 4 players each year who will have the same success rate of those mentioned, how good could we be? It's all Dortmund have done they're just 5 years further down the line than us! For example they brought Gündogan 2 years ago for €4million, absolutely ridiculous fee! I don't know much about Freiberg's team tbh, but do they have players of the same quality of some of ours??
  16. Damson, why would you not want to play delph and sylla? I've had a season ticket for 11 seasons and Delph has put in some of the best CM performances i've ever seen over the last few months! including Milner and Barry, i think if he continues to progress he will actually fulfil his potential, which i never thought was going to happen!
  17. Clark will not be good enough, nor will Bannan, Holman, Abrighton or lichaj. Vlaar will stay but i don't think he's quite been as good as we had hoped if we are all being honest. Hopefully he will be better next season! Absolute waste of time waiting around to see if players like Albrighton, Bannan or Clark will be good enough to be long term premier league players, because they will 100% not be. Baker deserves a chance because of the heart he has shown these last few months, although i doubt his ability is premier league standard either! Everybody else, except the obvious ones that are leaving (Dunne, Given, Bent and HOPEFULLY Ireland) should stay in my opinion. Hope someone comes in for Holman though.
  18. Are you basing Sanogo on FM? lol He was up front in with dzeko in my champions league winning swansea team back on FM 2010!
  19. SikhlnTrinity,Yes that was a good finish and control but i also remember Stephan Moore coming on as a sub against charlton and scoring an amazing technical goal! No doubt he's a great prospect but he's far from the finished article and leaving will not help his development!
  20. If he does move i think he will be overestimating his current ability, technically is he even that good? His work rate is amazing and that's why the Villa fans love him. Other sets of fans might not feel the same!!
  21. Yeah Luke Shaw looks one hell of a player, got such a strong build for a 17 year old as well! he will stay with them for a few seasons i reckon then get a huge move, if he was a CF rather than a LB he would be getting Rooney type attention (when he burst on the scene) in my opinion.
  22. Just hope we get players already of good quality who can further improve! If i was lambert and i was being ambitious i would look to sign: Kone £4m (Wigan) Had two great seasons now, arguably could call him 'Wigans Benteke' and was quality at Levente last season aswell and got 15 goals! Works hard too so could do the wing job of gabby and andi, quick too. James Mccarthy £8m (Wigan) Undeniably Wigans best player for me! works so hard and has the quality for top 6 team, but not sure one of them will go in for him! Will Hughes £12m (Derby) Going to be an absolute player in a few years time, if we get him in i have no doubt he would be awesome. Then probably well him on for about £25m in a few years if he continues to progress like he is currently doing! Dragovic £5m (Basel) Watched him a few times in the europa league and he was absolutely quality, 22, hungry and built for the prem! and then try and get in either Ryan Bertrand (chelsea) or Fabio (man u) on loan to cover the left back position incase we have a disaster next season but personally i believe that if Joe Bennet gets down the gym a little bit then he can be a decent player for us!! If we got those players, it would cost us £29m and would improve the team massively in my opinion! Would have to seriously be considering european qualification if we got those in?
  23. I think you're exactly right with the values of players we're going to go for. A good centre back can be had for £5m. I like Kjaer (Wolfsburg), de Vrij (Feyenoord), Ecule (Lorient), Okore (Nordsjaelland) There's some left backs out there who could compete with Bennett for £2m. - We're absolutely not going to spend a lot of money in this position. N'Sakala from Troyes who just got relegated from Ligue 1 I think could be good. An attacking midfielder I think will be our biggest outlay and most important signing. Like I've said before I really really like Van Ginkel (Vitesse) if Ajax don't take him. Will Hughes (Derby) I personally think is a better prospect than the often talked about Zaha but he'll cost probably too much than we're willing to pay. Praet (Anderlecht) is a gifted, nimble passer. And one probably not on anyone's radar, has 6 goals and 12 assists in his first season in Austria and has been playing first team football for 3 years - he's only 20. A versatile winger/striker is what I feel is our last need. Someone to spell Gabby and Weimann if they're not in form and what not. Thievy Bifouma (Las Palmas), Nacer Chadli (Twente) and MArius Alexe (dinamo bucharest) are all guys I see moving this summer. Will Hughes would be an AMAZING signing! he has so much potential and i see him being as good as Modric, that sort of player. I reckon they would want atleast £12m for him though and he might not even come anyway because he knows he's going to a top club eventually!
  24. Come on mate - Set the bar higher than Joe Allen FFS ! He was excellent in his first season for Swansea in the PL. Totally different position to Benteke and not in the same league, however he was very good last year and if he had stayed at swansea i imagine he would have been very good again and continued to progress further! Now at liverpool his chances will be limited and i don't imagine his career will hit the heights it could have done, certainly delayed him for 2-3 years. Also will always have a 'flop' stigma attached to him now which always seems to weigh players down!! (unless he has a great season next year, unlikely however) my point was meant to be this is why Benteke should stay! lol
  25. Realistically the best we can hope for is that he will stay for another year solely to ensure he is number 1 for Beligum in the world cup! After that, if scores more than 15 goals next season and has a good world cup, the world will be his oyster!! Naive to think he would have any loyalty to us however nice the sentiment may seem. All you have to do to understand his situation is: 1) Pretend you are a young Footballer and Belgium is the best league in the world. 2) You get a transfer to a team over there to a team you have never really focused on before, you are clearly the best player and the team scrape past relegation. 3) You realise the fans love you although this will be the case in most teams if you can keep up the form. 4) Loads of big clubs come in for you.... what do you do?
