  1. The Daily Mail are claiming that we're considering a deadline day move for Dijon striker Julio Tavares. Here. Never heard of him but he looks like a target man.
  2. Few respected people with links to the club on twitter seem think it's all smoke and mirrors, he'll be announced in the morning.
  3. Thanks @guyavfc I assume the relationship with Seatwave ran out?
  4. I saw him more as a winger option. Not sure Bruce would sign a 19 year old to lead the line for us, regardless of the transfer policy.
  5. Nyland Bryan Tuanzebe McGinn Success Grealish staying Abraham in on loan We're not there yet, but if we could complete that list, then that is utter utter dreamland, especially considering where we were a week or so ago.
  6. Anybody know why there's nothing available on Seatwave this season? Usually theres quite a few going on there, even when it's a sell out ?
  7. Certainly more of a football brain than Adama but that's not hard. I kept an eye on him when he arrived at Watford and he didn't get much opportunity to be honest. When he came on he certainly liked a dribble or two, very tricky player. Can't remember the game but he came on, waltzed past an entire defence and nearly scored.
  8. I posted this in the transfers thread but here it is again for reference...
  9. Love this! I think he'll be amazing in this league. A bit like Adama Traore in my eyes, only a bit less explosive (still rapid mind you), with a little more technical ability.
  10. Obligatory... Him and Green on either wing would be incredible!!! ?
  11. Well if this is just Skybet attempting to drive the betting traffic to suit them, then the £50 I've just smacked on Jack still going to Spurs will provide me with a modicum of satisfaction should he end up going.
  12. Success is not a bad little player actually, I remember watching a documentary on him when he went to Watford. Seemed to be a tricky winger type. Think he'd do very well in the Championship.
  13. Please refer to my earlier doom mongerings... here
  14. Haha!! I told you didn't I!!! Trust me to turn out to be a genuinely accurate profit of doom, just when we didn't need it hey.
  15. I got it from twitter, so you can stop your doubting right there sonny jim! ?
  16. If we keep Grealish (not going to happen btw) and sign those players we won't have need for a specialist DM like Jedinak, we'll be too busy ripping through opposition defences. Play Grealish, McGinn and Hourihane in a central 3.
  17. He's not the future of this side. If we have a decent replacement lined up, I'd entertain enquiries then wait and see if a desparate club comes in with a decent/silly offer on Thursday. If not then I wouldn't be unhappy to have him for another season.
  18. I'm not doubting his acumen as a CEO and I'm sure if he delivered that level of success for Villa I'd be in love with the man. But... His methods have been (in a footballing sense) morally questionable, and it could be suggested that he has slightly rodent like features, therefore I'm allowed to dislike him and take pleasure in him getting a dose of his own medicine ?
  19. Levy opened the bidding at £9m... (Yes nine million). He did that because he saw us in a position of pure desperation and like the vulture he is, tried to pick our bones for a ridiculously low figure. The guy (in football terms) is scum. Well now the shoes on the other foot. Now after a summer of coming up short on deals, it's Spurs who are desperate. Time to return the favour and treat him with the level of disdain he did us. Quote him a ridiculously high figure and sweat him out for the next 48 hours without giving an inch!!
  20. It'll go to the final day. I guarantee it!!! Come 3pm, having built things up so much you'll be convinced it's judgement day itself, Sky Sports (needing to fill a lull in the action, whilst not actually knowing anything) will start with some crap about Grealish staying, what a coup for Villa, all hail Bruce, thrash yourself nightly for the next fortnight for ever doubting him to be the man to convince Jack to stay Villa fans etc etc... We'll all get excited, twitter will be awash with jubilant Villa fans demanding a statue be erected of Jack next to William McGregor outside Villa park. Some will appear on TV in hastily cut out Jack masks, dancing around a bemused Pete Colley. Then with little more than half an hour to go we'll get that all too familiar gut punch. It'll start with some cocky spurs fan on Twitter proclaiming that Jack's at the Spurs training ground, backed up with a blurry picture which most of us will try and deny is him. But then the moment we all fear will arrive, it'll happen in slow motion for many of us... starting with that damn yellow ticker bar at the bottom of the television set, graduating into Jim White's smarmy face contorting into a wild grimace... "SPURS FANS, ARE YOU LISTENING, DANIEL LEVY IT APPEARS HAS GOT YOU THE MAN YOU ALL WANTED..." At this point you'll experience a feeling much like that which soldiers do in the aftermath of a bomb going off... That sharp but distant pinging noise, people around you appearing to talk and point to the TV screen but you hear nothing but muffled tones. You'll wander into the kitchen cluthing onto a pillow from the sofa, not really knowing why, but refusing to let go, your fingers digging tighter into it's velvety flesh... At this point you might lash out, you may snap at an elderly relative, flail your arms wildly at the family cat or slam a door with excessive vigour. But rest assured, within half an hour... after threatening to cancel your sky subscription and saying your done with football, you'll comfort yourself by repeatedly watching John McGinn videos on Youtube until you eventually cry yourself to sleep. It's happening people, exactly in the way I've described. Accept it and it'll be slightly less painful come Thursday.
  21. Laziest journalism ever. Owners state they want young, hungry, value for money players... So they link us to 32 year old Alvaro Negredo who would want about £4m a season. ? Stick it in the Yerry Mina bollox file.
  22. Agree. I actually really liked Maloney, good player and think that, but for his personal issues he could have been a good player for us.
  23. I would too. If we were to sign someone like Abraham on loan, Kodjia would have to accept that he'll be starting a lot of games on the bench. And really that's the best thing for him at the moment, he's not back to his best yet, so getting 30 mins or so at the end of a game (alongside the odd full game here and there) will help both him and us. Thing is you know he'll come on and either sulk or try and beat 5 men and score a worldie just to prove a point and that's going to infuriate the fans.
