Further, if Downing is to leave then fine but a word of advice - get his replacement in before we sell Downing. Selling A Young then having the gaffer saying that he will not have the money to spend and then selling Downing will send a terrible message out to not only the fans of AVFC (your consumers) but also potential recruits.

General, I will back the manager whoever it is and I still believe the board want us to do well but at the same time you have made an absolute shambles of this appointment. Holding out for David Moyes has ended us up with the poorer version of him. He may do well and I hope he does, of course I do. However, the way you have handled the whole process from cradle to grave is at best naive. Our club has had nothing but negative press since the beginning but many of us were willing to let it slide as we believed the board were doing the right things and trying to find the right man. I still don't understand why we have not gone for McLaren, Hughes, Jol, Rijkaard etc and how we have had to settle for someone that only resigned from his post a short while ago. Were you that bad at selling the clubs ambition that not even the Wigan manager (no offence to Wigan) wanted to join us? That does not comfort me or many other Villa fans. After never running more than 5km, I have run 10km twice in the last two weeks. I did 58:23 the first time and I felt totally fine, which was surprising as I thought I would be absolutely knackered. The second time I did it in 55:58 and I was pretty knackered but at the same time it was a hot day and I wasn't feeling match fit. I am getting married in 3 weeks and I really want to hit the 50 minute mark before then. Gonna be tough tho.
